check the full thread, the people have power. omg
hope they follow through on gutting the eververse loot pool, but i'll believe it when i see it.
I bet the Eververse stuff is more crap from joining with Activision than anything Bungie wanted to do. With the players basically revolting and being this vocal it gives them the "we told you so" documentation they really need.

Mostly I'm just kind of disappointed. I get there will be a bit less stuff because it's not some pay by the month deal as WoW but it still feels so bereft of shit for what it's supposed to be.
By Kibner Go To PostThey should make legendary equipment collectibles just like exotics.at the very least they can do it for any of the legendary with lore attached or stuff like forge/faction weapons
By reilo Go To PostThey should take Diablo's lead with shaders and not this Eververse bullshit.the game director going on twitter himself kinda leads me to think RAM's kinda on to something
the boss doesn't typically have to say fuck this shit the way he just did
I don't know how many more times these big publishers need to try and pull this shit on us. We revolt every time. Gamers put up with a LOT of shit (see PUBG) but they don't like being lied to (unless its Star Citizen).

even with we could get reilo and kib on at the same time this weekend, i am so ehhhhhhhh to 'high level content' in this game right now lol

I see they gave up the ghost on making folks farm resources and kills for the daily dawning gift and instead just give you some shit, lol.
I'm blown away by people who get less than 5 kills in fucking mayhem. How.
I also don't understand why everything about Nightstalker has to be weak or trash. Really don't.

It's got radar, funny enough SS is actually useful if you're smart with it. The annoyance is if you hit a game with some clown who's doing the Voidlock glitch bullshit. It's not as bad as you'd think. A lot of people are just plain stupid with their supers. And you only have to do 5 matches on each character rather than that percentage call to arms has and you're done.
lol
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostI aint fucking with that mayhem shiteyeah i just did it for the milestone and dropped it. funny thing is, its better than d1 mayhem and made me appreciate the super balance
at the same time, you realize how great the game would be with better grenade recharge times and laugh and cry
If anything I just get reminded how kind of trash hunter supers are in comparison to the others, least in PVP. I love my orpheus rig and SS in PVE but pvp is just trollmode and the damn fuckin' orb still landing on the tiniest pixel of a wall instead of landing where I want.
Double but I don't care. What's earnestly my biggest pet peeve lately with Destiny is how there's not much particularly special for folks who give their all and carry the fuck outta people in PVE and the like. I was in a strike the other night where a dude killed 12 and wouldn't stop dying. TWELVE. Meanwhile I'm doing my best to keep us moving and dealing with all kinds of shit and what do I get for my troubles? The same stuff as the dude who killed 12.
the armor basically all being cosmetic sans recovery/armor/mobility makes none of it really worth grinding for other than pride
they need to improve rpg elements--I need to have a good gameplay reason to specifically run certain gear sets for certain activities. Give me the D1 mercy boon for a full trials set for example. The only thing worth chasing in this game are the guns and none of them are that hard to get except for these shitty COO guns

Wait what? It's not lacking in stats at all. In fact it's the first complete set of recovery gear I've had that's not a mix of all kinds of crap and it looks good. Do you mean it doesn't have enough other perks to justify it? I'm mostly in agreement there but it definitely looks better than all of my hunter gear. Which is sad.
Once things aren't broken to the point of being pre-patch hunter bad, those stats never really matter anyway because you can always reach a point across any armor combination for things being "good enough".
My main point is, the way they generally treat armor is shit, and its not worth chasing for anything but cosmetic reasons (aside from exotics). Armor is not engaging in any sense. It does not actually "protect" you due to the way the light system works. It's a glorified cosmetic, and they double down on that with stuff like ornaments.
Even the guns are starting to become incredibly shallow. Take the visuals out of it, and you've got like two assault rifle types worth using with one being meta, and the amount of perks that are worth a shit can be counted on one hand. The exotics thankfully add something special and unique to the mix, but only a handful do anything interesting.
They need to take the mentality of exotic design and use that same amount of care across the entire loot pool

Easiest way to help solve that problem is introduce new armor types: belt, shoulder pads, rings, etc. that you can adjust. Make it a bit more granular to help users achieve the play style they want. They already have mods but those are basic, too.
But nah gotta keep it dumbed down.

Oh I get you and yeah that's definitely a fair criticism. In all honesty gear distribution, stats and all that need an overhaul. I guess some stuff is going to change in 2018 so I'm hording my tokens but it's like damn Bungie I'm trying to like your game and you're making it so incredibly difficult with this half-ass stuff that really prioritizes spending shit on Eververse. Eververse should have been an afterthought for some cosmetic buy ins and instead it's the focal point for a whole three week event. It's such an obviously cynical ploy to boost micro-transactions that I'm really just disgusted. There's such a lack of content and the bare minimum done that can't really be ignored. It's pathetic because the game really could be something more people play and talk about, instead it's just a couple of us in here basically bemoaning the next stupid thing they do to a game that looks and feels spectacular. They're so hyperfocused on Eververse and squeezing every little bit out of people who want new stuff in their game that they're ignoring how quickly others are becoming disenfrachised with the whole thing and dropping like flies.
Also you can't even dust stuff anymore like I did when the event first hit. It just turns into legendary marks now. I saw that change Bungo. I'm getting real sick of this shit.

The stat distributions are also weird and a bit opaque to me, too. I never really know what combination of armor I need to do to max full recovery besides going through every piece and equip it. But Exotic Perks are really such a difference maker in PVP that I prioritize my perk then adjust my stat levels as a secondary thing. You could even do something like class exclusive exotic mods to help with this. Say if you want Third Eye, you can get it as a drop (but super rare) and equip it as a mod.
Constantly relying on Bungie to balance the classes at the armor level is an almost impossible task. Let the users customize their armor to balance themselves in PVP.

Excuse the dump here for a second but I'm just really at my limit with the shit I'm seeing. I keep coming back to one essential question, am I being too entitled?
I keep coming to the same conclusion: no. There is so much potential to this visually striking and great feeling game and it's being squandered.
Crucible is now seasons of glitching so obvious it makes you question what the QC is doing.
I was hoping for some improvement come CoE. Raid Lair seemed like an improvement for those who can't get 6 people all on the same time frame for hours. Even some of the encounters in the CoE story were fun and different. Bungie heard the criticism and offered something up that was already in the predecessor: buying gear direct from vendors. Still a step in the right direction even if I can barely give kudos on that score. But all that's been overshadowed by this need to still push micro-transactions.
Who do we see when we first land? Tess.
Right now through these gifts I'm being thrown sparrows, ships, shaders. None of which can be dismantled into dust either (lol). I couldn't give a damn about these things. I can only ride one at a time and what will I ride it to? The same pub I've done multiple times over? The same strike? I can't even use my sparrow on Mercury, possibly so I can't register just how fucking small it actually is?
Bungie or Activision or whomever I have no insight into their inner workings decided that the randomness would not happen with world encounters (even the yellow captains and such that pop up aren't random at all and easily found) or new bosses in strikes and drops off them, or anything. Randomness instead would just be encompassed in a single engram.
There's no special gear for doing a pub solo or carrying people to victory or in a strike or cool drops off strike bosses that make you actually want to go back. Imagine instead of just an engram off Nightfall, you complete some sort of challenges specifically catered to that strike and you get an exotic THAT WAY. Imagine Lost Sectors with difficulty modes and the end chest gives you something other than a pittance of tokens.
There's just SO MANY avenues and means to distribute gear and keep people playing that would still be the bare minimum better than what I see now and wouldn't necessarily take insane development or everything, the tools are there. At some point it's just like "why did fuck your game up like this?" It's not something I would recommend to people anymore, ever. It's a fucking micro-transaction scheme at this point rather than entertainment. And that's pathetic.

The MOD system did have potential, we all know it. Too bad they tried to turn it into halo 4 loadouts low key instead of taking constructive risks.
I got a dawning gift, it came with a legendary engram, it turned into Errant Knight 1.0 with 10 def. Excuse me bungie?

again, science
now i can throw my old armor set in the bushes and go full recovery/mobility like a ninja and stop bullshitting

I've been about that lately since hunters just so squish. The other issue tho is you only get recov on legs.

I'm running as much recov as possible on my hunter and I'm only up to 8. =/. But I have no trials/raid gear if that's the only way to.
Oooooh. Again, I just want each class to be able to granularly set their stats to their preferred playing style.
My pals are bailing off Destiny 2, not that I blame them in the least, I'm more pissed at Bungie/Activision's bullshit.
