Fucking this. At least we'd have gotten the guy we wanted. Was Mozgov that much of a negative asset? Fucking stretch him.
By DY_nasty Go To Posthow many 2 guards look good without a real pg?

hope he blows them the fuck up for years to come
I'm curious if we were anxious to get rid of him because we fear potential incoming players / FA's don't want to play with him. Z

We can stretch Deng now
By Doomsayer Go To PostIt's pretty obvious: Magic has no idea what the fuck he's doing. You mean Pelinka?
By Stern Go To PostWe could have loaded up on 1 year roster-fillers last summer. We were going to be tanking anyway. An incomprehensibly stupid contract made the FO think they needed to trade away a #2 overall pick for a guy we'll probably let walk next summer.tanking for what? Your pick was protected until this year... next year your pick will be wearing Celtic green
Fuck Mitch.
By blackace Go To Posthe had to be worth more than Brook tho.Don't think Pelinka and Magic are done, tbh.

They'll definitely flip that 27th and Levert to sweeten the deal for PG.
By diehard Go To PostEhh Malone was still pretty great until 40
Malone dropped off from top 10-15 player at 38 years old though.
And LeBron has already played nearly as many minutes as Malone played before Malone turned 38.
Its dumb if they cleared this space for Paul George right now
real dumb, this space has to be for someone else

I'm saying we could have loaded up on garbage one-year deals last summer when it was clear we were going to be tanking the 16-17 season. Instead we gave out two insane contracts, one of which just cost us the #2 overall pick from two years ago who was far from a bust.
By DY_nasty Go To Posthow many 2 guards look good without a real pg?Is he a shooting guard, though? He hasn't been able to shoot it that well in the NBA, even in catch and shoot and spot up situations. He's more effective offensively when he has the ball in the his hands.

Get it done masai
If we get everyone in the GTA together, we can get about 5 million likes on that tweet by draft night.
Malone had played around 54k minutes before 2001-2002 (the year he dropped off).
LeBron right now is at 50.4k minutes and he usually gets around 3.6k minutes a year.
His minute totals are insane.

What's the point of being slightly better in 2018 anyways? Like it matters in the context of winning a championship. Gunning for LeBron is a huge gamble and even if you get 34-35 year old LeBron, he's not winning shit over the Warriors. Warriors have the west locked up for a few more years.
By rodeoclown Go To PostIs he a shooting guard, though? He hasn't been able to shoot it that well in the NBA, even in catch and shoot and spot up situations. He's more effective offensively when he has the ball in the his hands. He damn sure ain't a PG.
Problem with him and a lot of scoring guards (i don't like saying that every 2 needs to be able to spot up exactly) is that they lose themselves trying to set themselves and everyone else up. Dude just needs the ball in his spots and the freedom to cook from there. Recently, the league has been full of guys who can pass that get shoehorned into the PG spot just to get moved back to the 2 where they're infinitely more successful.
By Doomsayer Go To PostI don't think we actually got LeVert in that trade?weird, that same article said Levert was part of the deal.
That's why LG was talking about him.
It must've been edited.

He's more effective offensively when he has the ball in the his hands. The last couple weeks of the season we ran him at the 2 and Clarkson at the 1 and vice versa. D'Lo was much more effective at the 2. Efficiency was better and his turnovers went down and his assists went up. I thought the logical pairing of him and Ball was because of this.
A lot of conflicting reports about Levert actually. Not sure where we stand.
So if the Lakers have two max slots next summer and are going for old ass LeBron and PG, the question is why would LeBron sign there?
Is Ball/PG/Ingram better than staying in Cleveland with Kyrie, Love and Thompson? At least in the East he'd get to the finals.

Bargnani levels of denial
I was one of the bigger believers in DRuss' potential, I still think he's a starting SG at worst. I don't think Bropez is great or anything but the talent disparity between them next season won't be that great or even in DLo's favor.
Feels like Dlo was traded for less than his value but won't be able to say a final word on the trade til the summer of 2018.

From an offensive standpoint, Ball and D'Lo was the ideal pairing from the Lakers young core. D'Lo has the passing skill, but he's just not a pass first guy where as Lonzo is. That passing skill that he showed in college has sort of given him this pg reputation, but he's a sg flat out. He was the Lakers' best shooter last season.

why do the lakers want to go in win now mode? shouldnt they be tanking? they arent going to compete with the warriors and spurs.
