By giririsss Go To PostNo. People knew what melo was. A score first iso player who slacked on defense. That's what he was in Denver too.In Denver he was number 1 option and took then to WCF, just not now.
People clowned the Knicks hard because they could never put a team around him, and gave into many of his demands too (i.e. firing coaches) instead of telling the clown shoes to conform.
And then the Knicks gave him a massive contract with a NTC for a guy that was never going to be on their timeline for relevancy.
Then ran a circus show trying to ship him out when the relationship was clearly dead 2 weeks after giving him that contract.
He's a skilled scorer with a lot of tools still. But he can't be your number 1 option, and needs a strong coach / org to try and curb his worst habbits on both ends of the floor.
Is he going to succeed in OKC? NFI. I don't like their roster compilation at all. YNB, PG13, Melo are all super heavy iso ball hog guys. But sheer weight of talent should force them to a top 4 seed.
By unknown Go To PostIn Denver he was number 1 option and took then to WCF, just not now.In denver he was 10 years younger. And had a better squad around him. K-Mart, Anderson, Nene, Chauncey, JR.
Some of it is/isn't the Knicks Fault, Amare and Melo with Felton and D'Antoni could have been a top 4 seed for ages in the East. But Amare's knee's gave out and Felton got Fat. Amare's knee troubles was predictable, but they gave him a massive contract and that hurt.
Tyson Chandler was a good player to put next to Melo, he would do all the grunt work Melo didn't want to. But the other pieces were ~~ and Tyson couldn't stand the clown shoes organisation.
And many others.
By reilo Go To PostWade gonna make his way to Cleveland.that might be the only other team I would be cool with, still prefer miami.
By Kibner Go To PostWade gave back 8M to leave the Bulls. Lolwow
By Kibner Go To PostWade gave back 8M to leave the Bulls. Loldam he must really hate it there lol, ironic since he wanted to go there in the first place.
So ugh by giving back $8mil he’s gonna make less or about the same as the 2-year $40mil contract Miami offered him that he turned down.

IT BEGINS
Our second round pick just got better.
By giririsss Go To PostGood for wade. Disgraceful for the Bulls FO.well misery loves company
That place is a bigger / as big a shit show as NYK.
Goddamn, all of this unfolding the day before training camp. Melo. Wade.
What happens if Wade goes to SA? Should we rename the Eastern conf to Caveltics for the year? And then just Celtics for 2018-19? I mean, basically everyone else would be D-League material. East coast teams are ran like cancer and have been branded poison by the players and their crews.
Edit: Maybe one exception being Miami. That post-ASG run this year was serious. And if it's not a fluke, I'd love to see Miami go deep in the east.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostHere's a question, how well do PG/Russ/Melo actually fit together on the court?
"Look on the bright side, the guy we just traded our star for might hate it here. " #knickstape
The major thing for OKC is not to be a horrific team without Russ on the floor, dividing into the deep negatives. With Melo or PG on the court without Russ, that will prevented - but I don't think the overall will be a great mesh. I see them as a 5th seed squad. 1st round exit. They still have no bench. Lackluster D. Three ball hogs. I also predict career low scoring and assists for Melo
I wouldn't care where Wade honestly, it would be entertaining to see him play with Kyrie though.
being a poor defensive backcourt over there would make my team's job easier.

East still has Toronto too. Which despite being a struggle 8th seed out west, Would still make them a play off team.
But the drop off is pretty insane.
BOS, CLE, TOR, WAS, MIL are all locks for the east play offs. And then Who? CHO? MIA? And... i literally can't pick another team in the East that should be in the play offs. DET/ATL are shit shows.
By s y Go To PostIm good on Wade. Heat will be a top 3 seed this year.traitor. he will make the heat better. maybe ecf and challenge cavs?

If healthy Philly
By Zeus Ex Machina Go To PostIf healthy PhillyPhilly are probably too young to win that many games. They'll Youth away a few games that they should have won. That said, i think the 8th seed out east will be well below .500.
If their core could stay healthy, they could challenge the celtics in a year or two.
Huge if though.
By diehard Go To PostSteven Adams would get so tired of playing defenseFor lineup balance I would prefer that Wade come off the bench.
By KingGondo Go To PostFor lineup balance I would prefer that Wade come off the bench.I think wade is now a 25MPG guy. He'd have to come off the bench.
By KingGondo Go To PostJust bracing myself for the flamethrowers when people realize I want Roberson to start over Wade.
Only casuals would think that starting Wade is a good idea. Bench is already paper thin, Wade and staggering PG/Melo is the best option

Probably
YNB/Wade/PG/Melo/Adams is terribly unbalanced though given their depth
By pilonv1 Go To PostProbablyStarting doesn't mean they can't play him for 5 - 8 mins in the first and put him on the bench until the middle of the 2nd

Then you're also having Roberson with the bench. Think he fits better with YNB/PG/Melo starting
By DY_nasty Go To Posthe fits in better in the trashDidn't we just say, not OKC's bench.

Raps and Wiz are doodoo garbage getting by on building .500s because of how shit the conference is. They're feasting off of rotting corpses. Hollow victories, imo.
And yes, Miami. They may very well be a surprise team this year.

Wonder if the narratives are already being written about ynot having no help because melo and pg production are down because reasons.
