By giririsss Go To PostI think it will greatly depend on how Nurkic turns out. If he can play any level of defense. Otherwise Portland lost a starting C for a 20th pick. Not that i think Plumlee was the cornerstone of the team or anything, but this doesn't appear to be as clear an upgrade as is being made out. And the rest of the C rotation in Portland is garbage.Yea, people who are saying portland fleeced the nuggets are being a little hyperbolic. I think it's a reasonable trade for both teams that has the potential to make them each better.
It's hard to judge Nurkic 100%. But he's never been more than a 18mpg guy. It's a huge risk for Portland.
Atleast Denver has it's C rotation sorted out. They now need to get rid of Farried ASAP.
Is it a huge risk for us though? We get an okay first rounder, and the tail end of a rookie contract for a guy who is, on paper, a good fit. Seems like a prudent trade all around..
Plumlee is a starter, but not for this team with its tiny, sieve of a backcourt
By reilo Go To PostOddly enough Portland has made due bringing along 15-20mpg guys and turning them into quality starters: Lopez, Plumlee. I assume they're banking on that fortune again with Nurkic, but we'll see.
Lopez was already a starting C long before POR.
And Plumlee was due to get his turn based on performance and proven history.
Both were guys who had proven they could play starter level defense, but had under developed/ utilised offense.
Nurkic seems to be the complete opposite.
I think it's a huge gamble. But POR needs to make a few of those. Because it would seem the ones they made in the off-season haven't paid any dividends. And are playing out in the "expected" result. Question is going to be, how many "Assets / Aminus" can Portland burn through around this core.
Portland is already, maybe unbelievably, 2nd in salary cap behind the Cavs.
I don't think it's a great trade for the team, but were they gonna give Plumlee the huge contract he demands? The team is already over $130,000,000, when McCullom's max deal kicks in next year.
Paying Crabbe and Turner what they did, pretty much sealed Plumblee as a goner.
Seems like the front office is writing off this year as a loss, and don't want to make the playoffs.

Hernangomez 10/7 in 25 minutes, dude looks so fluid. If he can just learn D he's going to be so good...
EDIT: Hubie ripping the refs.
EDIT: Hubie ripping the refs.
Yes but they are back down to $118mil with a projected $125mil tax the season thereafter, so they'll only be a year in the tax. At that point their big contracts only have 2 seasons left and are much more moveable.

He was shit on D and average on the glass... He had no post game but was a great passer. He is an ideal backup with a big contract. Portland can see if Nurkic is worth starter money this year and next year while shoring up their frontline as they go...

Den needed that big contract too for the floor
By masud Go To PostI swear if they win this game…
I'm sorry Giri, but did you just suggest that mason plumlee has another strata of offense that he can reach?
Lmao
Lmao
The nuggets gave up a first round pick and Nurkic for Plumlee? Why? There really wasnt a better deal or they couldnt just wait til the deadline for someone to panic?
Melo provin peeps wrong, idiots won though. Spurs are shit all of a sudden. LMA is trash, reilo is missing nothing.
By masud Go To PostYay… 😐Come join me masud, let us celebrate the Knicks' playoff push. We coming for the 7th-8th seed! :D
I wonder if GS would be interested in re-acquiring Ezeli. Before he collapsed mentally he was an up and coming defensive big.
EDIT: LOL Leonard fouled Anthony on the hand! REVIEW THAT SHIT!

Trade deadline season officially underway.. my favorite time of the year other than draft day
Holy shit how do you reverse that? He slapped Anthony's hand and the ball went out of bounds, what the fuck?
By pkaz01 Go To PostDidnt he sign a relatively big contract?2-years for a total of $16mil, so no. It was deemed dirt cheap but he's still having knee issues.

I don't like this shit. I don't like it one bit. The Knicks just held à team to 90. Hernangomez should never start again...

Thats a great contact for a team that has nothing to lose with plenty of assets to spare. Maybe Boston would take the risk, could see the suns possibly buying if they smartly gave up on Len.
No way Portland is done dealing though, 3 first round picks I doubt they draft three rookies unless they plan to stash one in Europe. Might be some package deals coming up soon
KNICKS WIN!!!
4 game losing game over!
Fireworks and confetti raining down from the rafters...
Knicks doing it for the Oak Man!

By blackace Go To PostThey didn't want him when he still had a kneeoh shoot I forgot about that... I'd just feel uneasy relying on Javale McGee as your big center if I was on the coaching staff at Golden State.

Dolans so fucking shameless.

I know I'm way late on this, but I just came found out that Klay cheated on Hannah Stocking and seems to have a thing for Instagram models

Plumlee has been playing ok defense for a while now. It's hard when every person on the wings / 4 is getting blown by, to know what level he was playing at on Defense. But he was the single bright spot in their rotation. With out him they're significantly worse.
That's not taking into account adding nurkic back into their rotation. Solely losing Plumlee.
Again, i don't think Plumlee was amazing or anything. But he had significant value in Portland.

Zaza, McGee, and West equal what he signed with Portland for.. I am assuming they could have gotten him a bit cheaper too..

I mean if you take away any player getting large mins you can see they have value for their team.. But they didn't just take away Plumlee they added a young brusier type C.. Who might not pan out.. But Plumlee playing "ok" D is a bit of a reach..

Fuck a pointless win..... I like Ntilkina, but I aint going to lie I would like Monk and Fox to be an option when we pick too
By blackace Go To PostThey are saying Jah to the Bulls… but what do the 76ers get?
Jah being sold for pennies..
PLEASE BE MCW
Could see them doing Jerian Grant & Portis & picks or something similar
he just changes his twitter location to chicago hmmmm
Well he is from Chi.. But if they can give up trash and get him.. They might as well.
Also reading about how Plumlee found out about the trade.. dude's car just got broken into and his checkbook and cards were stolen.. He was calling to cancel his cards when they told him lol
