By Vivalapizza Go To PostWhy do people get so upset over what FA cup games get picked for TV?Because not everyone follows United.
BBC wanted Lincoln/Brighton but the FA insisted on United/Wigan.
I watched the City/Palace game from a Periscope closed circuit recording from the game that was uploaded.

And I don't think people want to watch Lincoln/Brighton that badly, at least not as badly as the regular complaints would suggest.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostOf course - but more people watch United than anyone else. But given it's the BBC and they have far less incentive to worry about viewing figures, it is becoming somewhat absurd that in every round they have rejected the opportunity to screen the lower teams for the same old PL borefests every time.

The likes of Lincoln and Sutton will never have the opportunity to appear on TV without the FA Cup. Yet still the only important factor is number of fans.
By Laboured Go To PostArsene needs to make a decision there.
Hopefully he chooses retirement.

The game is on the BBC but as GQ mentioned the FA wanted the United game to be on...presumably because they want the competition to get as high viewing figures as possible.

Seems quite obvious why people are upset, and fully justified as well.
I missed the Affleck news yesterday, LOL. RIP DC Universe. I mean, it already stank of death, but at least it will get a proper burial now.
But hey, new The Expanse season is almost here! Maybe I'll wait to binge it like last time. Thanks for the recommendation, Zabo <3

Think we turned down the wrong street when someone said that viewing figures don't matter for the BBC. They still do, even though they don't operate on the same model as everyone else.
The number of people that will tune in in hopes to see us lose is probably greater than supporters of the club
By domino Go To Postwell it is a business after allNot as though football is hurting for cash though, is it? People falsely like to think that football is more than just money, it would be nice if the FA didn't do much to disabuse them of that notion, regardless of the cash from foreign TV networks.
People within the country would have tuned in to see the Lincoln replay. But the FA obviously know globally United mean more so that's their priority. The BBC can say what they want and take the high road, but they also know this to be the case. If only there were a way for all of these games to be aired and for the public to decide what they wanted to watch. If only. Perhaps one day a device and system connecting us all together will be made available.
Also needs pointing out that more people say they'd rather watch the minnow ties than those that actually do watch.

I was confused for a second thinking "Charlton started his career with 250 goals scored?" But then I remembered he's like 90 lol.

no business has ever been satisfied with having enough. that's just how it is. i honestly figured they never showed the small teams on tv over there, especially when there's a team of reasonable stature playing. sports tv over here is solely about the numbers. spoken as a fan of an NFL team who is never ever on TV outside of their local market.

Unless someone knows otherwise. Neither they nor the BBC really need to put such a heavy emphasis on viewers before everything else.
Viewing figures aren't purely about profit though, it just means more people want to watch United than other teams. You give people what they want, surely.
Edit: Oh, nevermind.

If Mou is playing a game with Martial hes running a thin line, it was sort of cool the last few weeks of him making it known he has to perform, but you cant then fuck around when he is performing, maybe for a game or two but hes nearing the line where its becoming personal.
Can totally see us doing fuck all for 80 minutes and needing him, i can totally then see him not coming on.

9 hours into RE7. Great game, but it feels like it should be over soon, yet I think I have 3 hours or so left.

You bet your ass they still do, especially with the looming prospect of becoming private. They have to show their worth.
Are you all ready to get that BBC ID to be able to use iPlayer so they can push stuff to you?

Tammy Abraham has surpassed Moussa Dembele's goal scoring record for a teenager in the Championship.
Remind me why are we paying 40m for him again?

Given the president of the FA has been royalty for the last 50 years I presume they must have some kind of government ownership.
See, batong-chan has the inside line.
Not sure the not-for-profit thing means a whole lot in this respect.
"A not-for-profut organisation does not earn profits for its owners. All of the money earned by or donated to a not-for-profit organisation is used in pursuing the organization's objectives and keeping it running."
The people who run it will still do very well for themselves indeed.

By Vivalapizza Go To PostAre these fines pegged against income?Of course.
£20,000 is an awful lot for an average person. Though of course the crime is one that only complete shitcunts commit.
Isn't that always the case ? Would be pretty hilarious if he got like a 400£ fine.
