By Francis Go To PostAh, that makes a lot more sense - certainly not a faulty line of thinking.Hardly similar I'd say. Do they even have anyone in their frequent players that has even won anything in a top league? MoPo hasn't won anything as a manager either. And obviously the club hasn't racked up any trophy in some time. They desperately need to get some sort of trophy to validate themselves and it shows in the petulance of that squad.
United are in a (somewhat) similar boat. While we did win the FA Cup last year we're also back to square one considering we've started over with new management since. The EFL is our best chance of silverware this season and could, depending on the final outcome, benefit our team in the remaining competitions.
I believe the tie against Chelsea is detrimental and this weekend is the first hurdle to overcome that obstacle. No matter how silly it may sound.
Was out for most of the evening, came back home, saw Fiore's result ...

Btw. Last of Us is really expensive everywhere, but for the rest you'll find rather cheap digital editions.
Allthough the cheapest option would be sales on the PSN, but you missed a rather good one with the January sale.
Currently there's that EA one, but I doubt you want any game from that list :P
Alot of retail games are also pretty cheap, like Uncharted 4
You might wanna give Until Dawn a chance, along the games you mentioned already.

Also tbh, I kind of want dragon age. I know people shit on it, but I rather enjoyed the mindless gameplay of it. I however managed to forget copying over my saves on a reformat, and now can't be bothered to pirate it again. That's the kind of dumb game that would be enjoyable in bed.

10€ is fine for Dragon Age. No idea, if the dlc in the GOTY edition for 15€ is worth it.
UC4 is a nice closure though.

Watched Train to Busan yesterday.
Pretty nice zombie flick with some nice ideas here and there, no pathos and no fucking Muricans with their guns was a nice change of scenery.
The dialogue is a bit weak in some areas and not every actor is up to the level, but it's definitely a good zombie flick, which is sadly pretty rare despite a billion of them being made.
DAI is garbage man. The plot line is interesting, the characters are cool and the graphics are great but as a game it's just a bland piece of poop. Pure collectathon with mediocre combat and a world that is too big for its own good. Considering how pretty the world is it's almost remarkable that they managed to give it no atmosphere at all.

The first one is an excellent game.
And 2, had it not been for the recycled art and areas... fuck it, it's miles better than Inquisition even with those problems.
I have already played it quite a bit as I said, thought it was ok and wouldn't mind wasting some more time on it for 10 euros.
Think most of it has to do with me just loving moral choices in games, even if cartoonishly evil or good choices. It's just fun to be a dick. That's why I tried to force myself through ME3 as well, but eventually had to give up. But damn hitting that dumb cunt tv reporter in the face was so good.

On the other hand, Wasteland 2. Which, while significantly flawed in many ways, I ultimately very much enjoyed. However, some of the bugs in the second half were really fucking bad at release, so I'm not touching Torment before I get confirmation that most them have been ironed out.

The word I would use to describe it best is "artificial", being well aware that all videogame worlds are of course. But DA:I is so soulless, like it wants to remind you you are moving stuff inside a box as opposed to good RPGs that want to capture you and give you a sense of place. The comparison to MMOs is apt due to quest design, but I would argue the world itself also encourages that feeling.
If you've played more than 1 MMO you very quickly being to understand the trappings of the genre. MMO designers (especially those that copy WoW) know the player profile they are targeting, that is why most MMO follow similar guidelines, and either on purpose or by accident, DA:I feels like that. For example, impossibly big, open, vast, etc. are words used to usually describe MMO spaces. You have these halls and buildings and even natural formations that don't even feel made to human scale (or whatever race appropriate for the game). Once they were a novelty, but being able to make big open worlds has long stopped being a hook in videogames by itself. And moving between these areas is slow and tedious (I swear mounts in DA:I are slower than walking on foot), almost like you are ploughing a field, where you do it methodically through every square inch before moving to the next one.
But another term that is commonly used to describe these games is Theme Parks, which is incredibly accurate. Theme parks are places dressed up to feel like different things: this is "pirate land" or "dinosaur land", etc, and they only aim to give you the faintest illusion that you are somewhere else, but they are not really trying too hard. They understand the visitor doesn't care about this artificiality, only that it is enough to make you spend time in the rides and thrills. To regular MMO players this isn't a problem because they know the trappings of the genre by now, and that's what they want to play. They know to click on every yellow exclamation mark NPC, thumb through dialogue and go in the direction the map shows to collect 10 chicken buttholes and move on.
In DA:I these elements soon become boring and tedious. Walking to the war table every time you go to camp, for example, feels exactly like walking through a theme park area. Sure, it changes over time and characters come and go and the distance make it feel vast, but it's like walking through a movie set. You feel like if you peek a little to the side you are going to see the construction material. Every place feels fake, and I feel it is down how the world isn't constantly pulling you with context and details. That's why playing The Witcher 3 it doesn't bother me going to one of the million quest marks in the world (hey, skipping them is fine too!) because every thing from the audio visual and design standpoint make them feel like they belong in the world, and they are pulling you into it but they would exist even if you didn't. In DA:I all these things feel like props in a set to help you fill a bar somewhere in your menu and are treated as such.
Edit: Hixx is not wrong when he says DA2 looks better in retrospect, and fuck, I HATED DA2. But that's just a poor game because they farted it out the door in 13 months and barely got everything in place for launch. It feels like it was done with no resources at all, but DA:I feels like they had plenty and still didn't know how to make a good RPG, which is even worse.

Totally agreed on not playing day one. And InXile's track record with backers and the fans has been mixed, even before taking into account Wasteland 2's technical issues. No problem letting them iron out the kinks.
I think you're right on the writing. Trying and failing is better than not trying at all. (My GF hates video games, so I got her to play P:T. She's a fan!) I think I will give Mass Effect Andromeda a shot, even though I despise BioWare. Horizon looks really dull. Come to think of it, I think I basically hate video games at this point too.
I actually think D:OS 2 might be my most anticipated game this year. The first game had some really well-designed systems, though the world/plot/VA/everything was so awful it was pretty hard to finish the game. Fix that shit? I'm in.
I'm in "wait & see" mode regarding D:OS2, but I have high hopes. Regarding InXile ... yeah, some of their practices have been rather suspect, but it seems more of an organizational issue than something that's coming from a bad place. Hopefully Torment will manage to wash away some of that bitter aftertaste.
