It's already started. Bernie Sanders is laying the groundwork for it with his list of donors he refuses to share with the DNC.

Less likely to happen to the left because minority voters.
The left is a coalition movement and always will be
By Fenderputty Go To PostIt's pretty amazing how politics affects policy. The AHCA should have been a slam dunk for the HFC IMO. Especially once the EHB's were removed. It wasn't a pure repeal, but it managed to cap Medicaid and set the table for all their other goals. All of their tax plans and everything hinged on the AHCA's passage.

House Republican leaders and the White House, under extreme pressure from conservative activists, have restarted negotiations on legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act, with House leaders declaring that Democrats were celebrating the law’s survival prematurely. There's too much at stake. Too many people have access to health insurance.
Just days after President Trump said he was moving on to other issues, senior White House officials are now saying they have hope that they can still score the kind of big legislative victory that has so far eluded Mr. Trump. Vice President Mike Pence was dispatched to Capitol Hill on Tuesday for lunchtime talks.
“We’re not going to retrench into our corners or put up dividing lines,” House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said after a meeting of House Republicans that was dominated by a discussion of how to restart the health negotiations. “There’s too much at stake to get bogged down in all of that.”
So fuck the congressional review act. Republicans are using it to destroy the environment and they just sent us to join the UK in Oceania.

Why not play with fire if the house is burning around you already? Can't believe theyre either gonna fail again or finally succeed in passing a bill polling in the teams.
Trump has declined to throw out the first pitch of the season for the Nationals.
Which is a shame, because given his form he was likely to hurt his bill-signing arm badly.

If he falls below 30% before 2018 I expect there to be a stampede by the repubs to distance themselves from him......

I read that article, but it did not feel genuine....like hedging your bets. Like something that belonged in MAD.
IIRC they were using more flyover states for their math rather than the Midwest.

Here's the thing Hillary ain't running in 2018.... all the dem heroes from Hillary to Bernie (and I having a feeling Obama might pop back up then too) are going to be that campaign trying to get more votes. Also on the low the Dems are suing everywhere to try and remove all "racial based gerrymandering". Plus one of Obama's biggest mistakes was defunding the DNC to focus on his own version (which was the equivalent of starting from scratch). The DNC is already starting their campaign in the states that went red that are normal blue.
Which to summarize it all Hubris cost the Dems 2016 but they seem to be on the ball again and I think that alone is going to help then in 2018.

That's litteraly what people were making fun of them for though. He admitted hedging his bets by claiming a systematic polling error was possible and .... it was.
Nate got burned during the primaries when he put too much weight on historical data and probably decided Trump had a wild card factor. He also assumed that the high number of undecides left more chance for error too.

Also, it's bizarre to call out 538 for that chart (a historical account of polling between presidents) because you believe (wrongly) that they got the 2016 election (a prediction) wrong.

they confirmed that Russia did fuck with our elections and also confirmed that they're actively fucking with the french elections too. Trump has got to be sweating. I hope to one day see pictures of Nunes, Sessions and Trump in handcuffs.

I'm saying I pay less attention to 538 now. But they're not the only ones. I'm kinda not paying attention to everyone. Everything is hurry up and wait right now.
This quote from a WaPo profile of Pence's wife:
psst… if that's the standard you hold yourself to check out the guy you elected to lead the country
Article in question if you enjoy punishing yourself.
In 2002, Mike Pence told the Hill that he never eats alone with a woman other than his wife and that he won’t attend events featuring alcohol without her by his side, either.has resulted in lots of GOPers showing their true colors to defend the retrograde mindset that results in treating women as vile seductresses and men as incapable of avoiding adultery without their spouse around.

That's not a GOP thing. That's a Christian thing. If scripture concerning guarding yourself against temptation is anathema to you, then yes, you're going to be offended.
It's a puritanical religious thing, not just conservative Christianity. See countries like Saudi Arabia.
Men and women are capable of being friends. If you don't think you're capable of controlling your penis or if you don't trust your SO enough to allow them to have friends of other genders then you have bigger problems than "guarding yourself against temptation."
Think about the implications of such a mindset when you're in the position of hiring people as Pence is. That's how photos like this happen.

Anyone following this Senate intell hearing? It's wild how much more put together this groups is. Russia is still affecting US politics with fake news and is currently attacking Paul Ryan. They've infiltrated leftist groups including OWS, BLM and the Sanderistas. A witness said Trump used Russian measures against his opponents during the election. I think there was a mention of a "fake news" task force to combat this. Independent privately funded to rate news agencies based on their truthiness. It was known Russia hacked the voter rolls. They did this to get a list of targets. Apparently Russia has "information nukes" on up to 4K people.
I find some delicious irony in Paul Ryan being targeted by a Russian cyber disinformation campaign while he refuses to remove the stooge in charge of getting to the bottom of the Russian cyber disinformation campaign.

Trumps having a great day today:
1. His and Ryan's push to do healthcare again resulted in more infighting between Trump and the HFC. 2 Weeks until reconciliation ends. Tick Tock
2. The Senate Intel Committee is competent and it's now publicly known he used Russian measures from Manfort during the campaign.
3. and now this.

The juxtaposition of all this while the Senate Committee is going on is hilarious.

A pair of White House officials played a role in providing Representative Devin Nunes of California, the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, with the intelligence reports that showed President Trump and his associates were incidentally swept up in foreign surveillance by American spy agencies.
The revelation that White House officials assisted in the disclosure of the intelligence reports — which Mr. Nunes then discussed with President Trump — is likely to fuel criticism that the intelligence chairman has been too eager to do the bidding of the Trump administration while his committee is supposed to be conducting an independent investigation of Russia’s meddling in the last presidential election.
Several current American officials identified the White House officials as Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence at the National Security Council, and Michael Ellis, a lawyer who works on national security issues at the White House Counsel’s Office and formerly worked on the staff of the House Intelligence Committee.
A White House spokesperson declined to comment.
The juxtaposition of all this while the Senate Committee is going on is hilarious.
The fact that the hacks are ongoing is the craziest part. Their hand was already caught in the cookie jar but they have no fucks and continued to go in on it. I expect the sanctions to become ironclad for as long as Putin is alive similar to Castro in Cuba if this continues.
Also no surprise about the Russian connection to the left, they've wanted to spread discord and the best way was to incite both sides. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out they did stuff in support of Bernie without Bernies consent (unlike trump) the goal was to always put an ideologue in as the President.

They don't have much to fear from a similar campaign because well, Putin is a permanent "democratically" elected leader. Sanctions are the only thing and until Trump is gone it doesn't seem like that's much of a concern. They're fucking with western ideal and democracy and trying to turn the west so we're sympathetic to their cause. It's been pretty damn effective.
I'm not holding my breath with this committee, until results are shown. Burr was all aboard that Trump train until like a day or so ago.
The hilarity of some of the republicans trying to downplay their involvement. As if they weren't complicit via silence or actually chanting the same bullshit that Trumpicana 45 was.

If you hear the leading Senate Dem start acting like Schiff, then I think you can start to assume the committee is garbage. Nothing from that committee was good for Trump.
