well they'd basically be way behind the 8 ball as far as 2020 with Pence

Do the impeachment this year and you set your party up for an 8-year GOP run. Trump is at 37% approval rating as of today and he's not even president yet. They have nothing to lose by not impeaching him because they determine whether to kick him out or not, and they put in a hardline right-wing GOP Governor that is part of the establishment and in step with their rancid agenda. Trump might pick fights with them on a whim because he can.

I think they have a better chance at winning 2020 with Pence than Trump *shrug*

Probably, but ain't nobody voting for Pence.
I don't think Mike Pence is exciting or electable on a national level. He's bland, he's boring, he doesn't have the, um, appeal we'll call it, that Trump does nationally, even though he also believes a lot of the same heinous things.
By reilo Go To PostI think they have a better chance at winning 2020 with Pence than Trump *shrug*

Yeah but what has he done besides run in the primaries in 2016? Now that he's gotten everyone's attention on the national stage, it's time to really build his brand.

Plenty of establishment folks are scared shitless of being primaried by a tea party nut or a trumpican. The people that aren't scared (Paul Ryan) are giving him some push back on his crazy ideas like repealing Obamacare without a replacement and pretending the GOP can come up with something in weeks. The divide within the party still exists, even if Trump as solidified them temporarily.

By asking some questions prior to a new POTUS? He still has to make it out of the Primary and he's constantly bodied as not a true conservative because of his previous stances on immigration. If I've learned anything this election it's that the GOP base doesn't like people that are perceived to be weak on immigration.
At the very least they should be passing updated laws that require the president to place assets into a blind trust and disclose tax returns.
If Trump really wants to be president he needs to sell his assets.
If not, he should resign.

This is just the start. I think Rubio recognizes that after the impending Trump disaster, people are going to be looking for an adult as oppoosed to counter-establishment nut and he's going to try to at least make everyone think he's one.
By reilo Go To PostErm, the constitution has an Emoluments Clause for a reason. The tax return disclosure should be required though.
And even the emoluments clause requires semi-credible opposition from congress. So far they've shown themselves to be the hypocrites we thought they were. As long as they get their tax cuts they'll overlook anything.

By reilo Go To PostYou wouldn't be okay with white people saying to stock up on firearms after Obama was elected, so why are you doing this now?
Because white people would be stocking up on arms due to some erroneous belief that Obama was coming after their guns. In this instance, the fear isn't a loss of material possession, but rather loss of life due to racists being emboldened by our racist POTUS and his racist ass attorney general.

Move to Trumpmerica and turn your skin 10 shades darker.
This is a place for (relatively) civil discord about politics AROUND THE WORLD. People can have different opinions than yours, that's Society.
It is NOT a place for trolling, name calling, discrimination, false arguments, character assassination, nor a place to try and incite violence or harm upon anyone.

I want to move to Canada.

Point 2: Scanning the last 2 or 3 pages ... this place has become very confirmation bias heavy.
Point 1:
Recommending people buy guns because of your political beliefs isn't generally well received anywhere outside the US, and is seen as a hostile statement. Nor should it be a common statement inside the US. It's provocative and does little for discussion as it alienates and immediately paints clear delineations and aggressive stances.

Since you're not American maybe I'll provide some context. CRUD's sentiment isn't a once over silly comment. It's an actual movement among liberals (especially minorities) and is happening across this country right now because minorities are scared of Nazi's that have been emboldened by our new supreme leader. If you did't receive CRUD's comment well it's because it wasn't addressed to you, it was addressed to minority Americans. Your opinion that it shouldn't be a common statement is really rather meaningless and shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone who lives here and is genuinely in fear. Perhaps he should have said, "Minority Americans, if you don't have a firearm, please get one."
Regarding point 2:
I have no idea what "confirmation bias heavy" means without examples, nor do I understand how that relates to: "It is NOT a place for trolling, name calling, discrimination, false arguments, character assassination, nor a place to try and incite violence or harm upon anyone."
I'm asking because not because I'm being confrontational, but rather because I genuinely want to know if I am doing anything wrong. The only confrontational posts I've read came from one poster who hasn't commented in a day or so.

I'm aware of the context of Cruds statement.
I don't want to go running off a list. It will create unnecessary attention to posts that singularly, aren't needed, and draw attention to topics i'd rather leave dead.
There's no one i'm specifically thinking of. But if you want an example of Confirmation Bias .... remember how Hillary already won? That's not meant as a call out on the people here about their views on Hillary. But as a larger example of Confirmation Bias.
If you understand the context of CRUD's statement I'm not sure why you would call it hostile, aggressive or say that it alienates anyone. It's a legitimate sentiment among scared minorities in the US.
I appreciate the effort to further explain your confirmation bias comment and how it relates to the original modly duty comment you made, but I'm not really any clearer. Other than the one outburst I didn't think anyone was doing anything you listed. /shrug

The interesting part about that tweet is that the house intel committee (republicans) voted to let all of the house (including democrats) see the intel. One has to ask why they would do that. Either there's nothing there and they want people to see that (there's probably something there with all this smoke) or there's something there and they want everyone including democrats to see. No other reason I could imagine.

If you don't get out of this mindset you will be harmed this year and moving forward. I cannot be anymore serious folks. Please protect yourselves. We are going to have one of the craziest years of all time. Don't be fooled folks, people are coming for us bigly. We are nothing but targets.
Again, I get it.. And I don't think CRUD is advocating anything, because we have had some really good talks over the New Year.. However, it is explosive times right now. In Texas, y'all should have been bearing arms well before Trump came into office... But the point is we don't really want any group of people advocating violence as an answer nor spreading fear that violence is coming..
I've personally seen a lot more people be....Free since Nov. So yeah, if you can you probably should take action to protect yourself tbh, especially in the South.

I'm going to try to make it to Africa this year for vacation. Might fuck around and stay.
