Chickens come home to roost.
CNN and other news organizations were blocked Friday from a White House press briefing.
There was no immediate explanation from the White House.
The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and Politico were also excluded from the meeting, which is known as a gaggle and is less formal than the televised Q-and-A session in the White House briefing room.
The Associated Press and Time magazine boycotted the briefing because of how it was handled. The White House Correspondents Association is protesting.
The conservative media organizations Breitbart News, The Washington Times and One America News Network were allowed in.

So while non-Trumpists think "what the hell happened in Sweden?", his talk radio- and Fox News-primed audience has filled in the gap with their understanding that Sweden is now a terrorist hotbed.

But it's hard to get the tone of bragging plus the empty promises down...

George W Bush Criticism on Trump
I don't care if he's criticizing Trump, GWB was a godawful president. Stopped normalizing him.
Bush got us involved in illegal wars, went to work gutting social programs, massively cut taxes, passed garbage like the Patriot Act and No Child Left Behind, illegally detained people in Guantanamo for years and years, was pro-torture. Not to mention how his fiscal policies lead to a massive recession. God, the list goes on.
Yo, check this out, I still don't miss W.
Yo, check this out, I still don't miss W.
The same patriot act that was renewed under Barry, and the same Gitmo that he said he would close but didn't?
With 9/11 we were either going to war or folks were going to raid Dearborn, Mi and like communities.
Y'all read "not that awful" but mentally processed "greatest ever." Please with the hyperbole. You sound like GAF.

"Not that awful" is trying to diminish his fuck-ups and normalize it as the "standard" for how a GOP president should be. It's lowering the bar of acceptable presidential performance, and exactly what you were going for.
And you can leave the "sound like GAF" shit out of this thread, too.
And you can leave the "sound like GAF" shit out of this thread, too.
Actually that was going to be my next question. What is "acceptable performance" from a post-Nixon Republican look like to you?
Like it or not, we elected Trump, so yes, the bar has been shifted. Forever. You're not waking up from the Matrix.

You can lower the bar for yourself, but I find very little evidence to suggest that this is a permanent shift.

tbf.. normalization is almost all blacks have at this point. I mean shit, Trump and his whitepower house has people really shook and even hurt. After decades of taking small steps forward... the country basically said fuck your plights and did this... Shit I miss W after 2 months of Trump..

President Trump will sign an executive order to bolster historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) on Tuesday. The order will do this by moving the moving the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, which was previously part of the Department of Education, back to the White House.
The Trump administration believes that HBCUs were created out of a desire to provide a "choice" for black people to go to a predominantly black college. They're using HBCUs existence to prop it up as a model of school choice, and in turn pervarting its history and why we even have the term HBCU.
The DeVos letter is so misguided and out of touch there's no way it isn't intentional at this point. They're just blatantly throwing their evil into the publics faces.
The proposed budget calls for $50+ billion in additional military spending at the cost of state and foreign ad funds. It's absurd, but what the hell does the Pentagon need all that money for? Corrupt as fuck the lot of them.

You know, I really dislike Chris Cillizza https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/02/28/the-kellyanne-on-the-couch-controversy-is-so-incredibly-dumb/ . He's on the Tony Kornheiser podcast every now and again and has the worst hot takes imaginable. She's apt to be made fun of in every she says or does. The whole look of that photo is ridiculous. The memes are what happens when creative folk get a hold of things like this. Attention isn't being diverted. At least not by the people that can make an impact.
FCC chairman Ajit Pai said today that net neutrality was “a mistake” and that the commission is now “on track” to return to a much lighter style of regulation.Fuck this administration.
“Our new approach injected tremendous uncertainty into the broadband market,” Pai said during a speech at Mobile World Congress this afternoon. “And uncertainty is the enemy of growth.”

The former British spy who authored a controversial dossier on behalf of Donald Trump’s political opponents alleging ties between Trump and Russia reached an agreement with the FBI a few weeks before the election for the bureau to pay him to continue his work, according to several people familiar with the arrangement.
The agreement to compensate former MI6 agent Christopher Steele came as U.S. intelligence agencies reached a consensus that the Russians had interfered in the presidential election by orchestrating hacks of Democratic Party email accounts.
While Trump has derided the dossier as “fake news” compiled by his political opponents, the FBI’s arrangement with Steele shows that bureau investigators considered him credible and found his line of inquiry to be worthy of pursuit.
Ultimately, the FBI did not pay Steele.
Steele was familiar to the FBI, in part because the bureau had previously hired him to help a U.S. inquiry into alleged corruption in the world soccer organization FIFA. The FBI sometimes pays informants, sources and outside investigators to assist in its work. Steele was known for the quality of his past work and for the knowledge he had developed over nearly 20 years working on Russia-related issues for British intelligence.
