Clever move.
If he goes to the account owners first there's all sorts of problems that can occur including illegal info deletion and signalling what information you're looking for. Going straight to the ISP is easily the smartest move.

By reilo Go To PostThese emails aren't even private, they were .gov emails lol
Under English law, I don't believe the distinction is very important there. Could be different in the US.
What gets me is they appointed their guy to cover up for them at the GSA..... He dies...... so then they just assume he did the coverup when he was alive?

Ok, here's a thing. This is entirely just a speculation, but could be one of the reasons why the GSA email acquisitions were not known by the White House.
They just recently appointed the GSA Administrator on the 5th of December. Could it be that it was the reason why it went under the radar until now?

So Trump's people went into interviews while Mueller had all these e-mails?
Incredible. You can see why they're running scared.

Now that makes sense cause based on reports they found out by the 12th.
So it looks like the appointed guy died and while the position was empty the career bureaucrats who run the GSA complied with the request...... Also its interesting they finished the interviews when they did. I wonder did they do there best to get them all over prior to the new administrator coming in.
Both sides have different "recollections" as well. Trumps people say that the acting GSA chief who gave the emails was in the meeting where his dead boss specifically said to not give up those emails. The GSA chief says that meeting never happened and they have signed documents stating any emails would be open to investigation........ I am going to side with the Feds on this.
I’m sure legal super team is knows how to get emails properly. I’m sure Trump and his minions are kind of stupid. Mueller better indict some more fools to keep the pressure up lol
So in the end it's Trump's insistence in personally underseeing the hiring process that did him in.
Wonderful.
Wonderful.
Interesting (and by that I mean sad) Politico piece on the Christian Machine and what happens when even a evangelical dares to denounce Donald Trump.
Indeed, the white conservative Christian electorate—and its overlap with the old-guard religious right—has supported a thrice-married adulterer who bragged about sexual assault. It has excused leadership blunders and nativism and white supremacy. It has rallied around Senate candidate Roy Moore in the face of multiple allegations of sexual abuse of minors. It has also brought low many of those evangelicals who dared to question its judgment. A recent survey found that white evangelicals are now more likely than the average American, or any other religious group polled, to excuse politicians’ immoral behavior. Even the Southern Baptist Convention’s Russell Moore, who leads that denomination’s public policy arm and was perhaps the most famous Never Trump evangelical, was forced to go on a kind of apology tour after the election in order to keep his job. He said he was sorry if his criticisms had been too broad; he didn’t mean to criticize everyone who voted for Trump.
Christian Machine is almost a misnomer since the evengelical movement has become so political in nature.

Not mentioned in this thread yet, but McCain likely won't be in DC for the tax cut vote. As unlikely as it is with Corker flipping, unless he can be shamed to reverse course, that means Democrats need just 2 GOP senators to vote no instead of 3.
Don't the top Trump officials also use RNC servers, ostensibly for in-party work? Those are supposed to be copied to (someone in) the government every 20 days, but who is responsible for making sure that happens? These were the same RNC servers that deleted 22 million emails of the Bush administration, a scandal that never got any purchase whatsoever. Thanks, liberal media! I'm sure Mueller has this covered, as the Trump admin is probably a little more confident they can delete or hide those.
Yes but tell me more about how the Bernie Bros shouldn't be mad that The Party wasted black women votes on someone who says Trump shouldn't resign over boasting about his sexual misconduct while everyone else gets fired or loses elections over it.
Jones represents a deeply conservative state. He has to toe the line and say things that are politically popular with his electorate, which still does support Trump to the tune of about 48% and nearly voted in Roy Moore. Let him get to the Senate and let his voting record do the talking.
I guess it's really no different than Joe Manchin out here politicking because he has to win an election next year in a conservative state. Manchin is still voting the party line on the majority of issues like health care, taxes, etc. Would you prefer a generic Republican in that seat that's going to carry water for Trump?
Fuck purity tests.

I don't care what state he represents. He won because college towns and POC turned out in huge numbers and because he was running against a literal pedophile, and he still barely won. They're still in the afterglow and he's already pivoting to try to appeal to people who voted for his pedophile opponent.
Guess what Doug? Those people are *never* going to vote for you. And by saying you're gonna "find common ground" with Trump none of the people who elected you will again either.
“Those allegations were made before the election, and so people had an opportunity to judge before that election. I think we need to move on and not get distracted by those issues.”He's not wrong.
America accepted Trump for who he is and still made him president. Everyone knew, half the country didn't care.
Pretty sure he won off of GOP suburbanites not turning out to vote for the other guy. Best way to mobilize those voters would be to start talking like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
It's not an enviable position to be in, but what are you gonna do?

He's also just giving you an academic response to questions being asked. "Yea I'd consider reaching across the aisle if it benefits my constituents and the country as a whole" shouldn't amount to a "SEE HE'S A REPUBLICAN" response.
Yo does this mean Jill Stein could be the first witness on stand to straight up rat everybody out? Yo that would be awesome if true
