By The Frankman Go To PostI don't think Trump is that stupid. But like, who do you think is going to draw up articles of impeachment? The answer's no one. They'll wag their finger and pretend to be outraged.

This is possible and it’s a full on constitutional crisis at that point

Pence? Jared?
Surely the only people above him are Pence and Trump. You'd imagine Reince, Sessions etc. are adjacent.
By cashman Go To PostWelcome to the ResistanceFuck any publication who has put forth any Republican as a voice of reason.
They are all complicit in the evil shit going on right now.
By Fenderputty Go To PostI knew taxes would pass, shocked they’re gonna get to blow up healthcare too thoughThey're going to blow up Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security next by calling them "entitlements" and telling people they'd have health care and retirement if only they'd worked harder and lazy minorities hadn't taken all the government money.
The tax bill just makes me so fucking angry. Naked class warfare.
The guillotine is too good for these people.

By KingGondo Go To PostThe tax bill just makes me so fucking angry. Naked class warfare. It's the Boomers looting on their way out. They're deliberately fucking over younger generations by burdening them with more debt, higher taxes, and fewer opportunities to access health care, advance up the social ladder, go to school, buy property, etc. (Not that the American Dream has been alive for decades.)

If y'all work hard and go to college, you might be rich someday, too. You're a millionaire waiting to happen. Hope you don't need to deduct that student loan or tuition from your taxes, though.
They’re going way overboard on the tax bill. The “tax the rich” for UHC chants become more and more possible.

Our society is dysfunctional to the core at this point.

The public isn't even fooled by this bill. It's terribly unpopular but the government just doesn't give a shit.
To me, the most infuriating thing about both their donor relief act and ACA repeal attempts is that they're completely ignoring how congress is supposed to function. Writing bills in secret, not getting budget scores, not holding hearings, outright lying to people at every step of the way about what the legislation does. People are voting for things that they've never read, in some cases because there is no bill to actually read.
This is a crisis. This is how a banana republic operates.

By Smoke Dogg Go To PostOh, so popular opinion means about as much as the popular vote? You don't say.People who decry the popular vote (especially re: Hillary) are idiots. The rules of that game were known.
What's enraging is that this bill isn't just "not popular," it's extremely unpopular. This is supposed to act as a safeguard against blatantly evil shit like this "tax reform." Elected officials are supposed to be afraid of the public and they're acting with utter contempt for the public right now.
This is a sign that the elected officials aren't afraid of getting voted out, either because they think they won't or because there's a cushy gig awaiting them if they do.
This could be the beginning of a shitstorm that will engulf most of our adult lives. I see this country lurching from financial crises to wars to constitutional crises into the foreseeable future.

People will have an opportunity to show how woke they are in 2018
Well, slap me silly and call me an idiot then, but you should know about as well as anybody that the popular vote is nothing more than popular opinion.
Your popular opinion is nothing more than a pig with lipstick and your GOP overlords will make sure you learn today.
Your popular opinion is nothing more than a pig with lipstick and your GOP overlords will make sure you learn today.
We'll see. If they aren't punished harshly for this (combined with allowing Trump to take power) then we're super duper fucked as a country into the foreseeable future.
By Fenderputty Go To PostYou saw in Virginia, though, that even big Democratic turnout has limits because of the horrible gerrymandering and voter suppression that Republicans have been enacting across the country. Republicans got annihilated and it still wasn't enough to even take the House of Delegates.
People will have an opportunity to show how woke they are in 2018
People are going to be genuinely hurt by this bill, though. Even if there's a wave election, we are still dealing with a tax increase on the lower classes and a huge shock to the insurance markets and health care systems. Those won't be able to be fixed unless we elect a Democrat president in 2020.
I imagine all of this BS is going to be reversed fast as shit once a Democrat gets back in, as well as in Congress, and it will happen at some point. McConnell has pretty much said fuck the rules in the Senate and I can't wait until this shit gets turned on them with quickness.

President Trump to cut Bears Ears National Monument by 85 percent, Grand Staircase-Escalante by half, documents show
But why...?

President Donald Trump plans to shrink Bears Ears National Monument by 85 percent and reduce Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument by half, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post that show the Utah sites would be cut even more than administration officials previously signaled.
But why...?
Trump will announce the changes to monuments established by former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, respectively, at the Utah Capitol before a crowd of supporters. The move will represent the most significant reductions by any president to designations made under the 1906 Antiquities Act, which gives the president unilateral authority to protect imperiled sites on federal lands and in federal waters.
The new proclamations, which also will split up both monuments into several smaller ones, would cut the overall size of Bears Ears from 1.35 million acres to 201,397 acres and Grand Staircase-Escalante from nearly 1.9 million acres to 997,490 acres.
Oh.
