You think this is the first step to the "make english the official language of of the USA" debate republicans always try to fucking pass?
it is the first step to "You better speak English in America if you want to stay!"

Has something like a federal language been legally challenged before? Maybe something close to, or like it? State level?
By GQman2121 Go To PostHe's not entirely wrong about people not voting and celebrities hurting Hilary. Everyone in those cities that mattered were so sure she was going to win that they stayed home and he took the election by 77k votes. It's that simple.
Turnout was actually higher for her than the Clinton campaign's numbers told them it would be so it's not quite that simple.
Man... Things seem very 1930s Germany these days.. With the White House actually openly lying about the numbers of the inauguration and attacking reporters at pressers.. It's ugly.

Trump fired all the ambassadors he could today, too..... All those changes they made to the website that was baseless propaganda, something very wrong is coming down the pipeline with Trump.....
Mr. Trump said of his inauguration crowd, “It looked honestly like a million and a half people, whatever it was, it was, but it went all the way back to the Washington Monument.”
Aerial photographs clearly show that the crowd did not stretch to the Washington Monument. An analysis by The New York Times, comparing photographs from Friday to ones taken of Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration, showed that Mr. Trump’s crowd was significantly smaller and less than the 1.5 million people he claimed. An expert hired by The Times found that Mr. Trump’s crowd on the National Mall was about a third of the size of Mr. Obama’s in 2009.
Mr. Trump said that though he had been “hit by a couple of drops” of rain as he began his address on Inauguration Day, the sky soon cleared. “And the truth is, it stopped immediately, and then became sunny,” he said. “And I walked off, and it poured after I left. It poured.”
The truth is that it began to rain lightly almost exactly as Mr. Trump began to speak and continued to do so throughout his remarks, which lasted about 18 minutes, and after he finished.
Speaking later on Saturday in the White House briefing room, Mr. Spicer amplified Mr. Trump’s false claims. “This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration — period — both in person and around the globe,” he said.
There is no evidence to support this claim. Not only was Mr. Trump’s inauguration crowd far smaller than Mr. Obama’s in 2009, but he also drew fewer television viewers in the United States (30.6 million) than Mr. Obama did in 2009 (38 million) and Ronald Reagan did in 1981 (42 million), Nielsen reported. Figures for online viewership were not available.
It's like 1930s Germany and NK propaganda had a love child
By Ciaran Go To PostI think the fact that he/they care about this so much is quite tellingWell they seem to be making Trump and their movement into a beloved Leader type of thing.
egotistical cunt
Pretty soon we will hear that Trump hit 7 hole-in-ones in a row
I find Conway's alternative facts comment shocking tbh. As vile as she is at times....She did literally get Trump into office so she's clearly aware of what she's doing . Delivering a bombshell hot take like that is amazing.
That Alternative facts line is going to haunt trump for a long time..... I wonder if she realizes that she gave the Trump Opposition a catch phrase
dude you basically posted how they're following propaganda 101 a few posts ago, you think alternative facts means a damn thing?

Yes, because even if 1/3 of the populace agrees with them and the other 1/3 hate's them. The other 1/3 can still be made to see them for the Fuck boys they are. Right now your seeing the battle for the independents who either didn't bother to vote (remember when that fucker Trump thanked black people for that.....) or were going to give Trump the benefit of the doubt. You got to keep everyone chomping on the bit for 2020 to neuter this asshole as soon as possible.
Catching him lying early and consistently is going to add up. The way you beat assholes like Trump is you got to chip away at the shitty ego veneer around him to really damage his soft insides.
I assume most people here are already using this browser extension that inserts fact-checks into Trump's tweets? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/12/16/now-you-can-fact-check-trumps-tweets-in-the-tweets-themselves/

There's nothing that can persuade them one way or another. That's not to say we should give up on them but it's hard to compete when one side is bringing facts and one is offering alternative facts.

Can the CIA legally withold info from Trump. Like if we have a high ranking spy in Russia....Can the CIA keep that from Trump or nah
I bet China's happy we pulled out of the TPP lol.
He also just put in a place a hiring freeze for federal workers and a freeze on pay raises for currently employed. Hiring freeze is kinda whatever but the lack of pay raises is fucked.

By Moris Go To PostThis thread about Trump's speech to the CIA:
The current press conference is a joke. They asked about this and basically the response was "listen to the audio" like that has any bearing on anything. They asked questions from all right leaning new agencies first as well. Started with the NY Post and then went to some Christian news etc etc.
This is gonna be an interesting 4 years. His base is eating all this crap up too, including the million people at his inauguration crap. He's creating a clear divide between actual news / facts and "alternative facts". This is like fascism 101. Can't wait for the upcoming parades to show off our military might.
Another March planned for April 15th. This time its about Taxes.
Marches dont do everything however we need to start having them more often and getting people registered and getting them forms of ID so we can all vote in the future.
I'm going to look into ways to hold registration drives during marches. Also helping people get ID's.
Also abandon the media (CNN FOX MSNBC) at this point stick to the actual sources. They are not part of the resistance, they are not allies.

By Elchele Go To PostAt least Trump killed TPP.
This will be the stupidest thing that liberals will say for a while I think. There were some decent things in the TPP and the lack of replacement will allow China to dictate the trade agreements in the region. But hey even I"m sure you read some blog somehwere ...

U.S. judge finds that Aetna misled the public about its reasons for quitting Obamacare
http://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-hiltzik-aetna-obamacare-20170123-story.html
Now a federal judge has ruled that that was a rank falsehood. In fact, says Judge John D. Bates, Aetna made its decision at least partially in response to a federal antitrust lawsuit blocking its proposed $37-billion merger with Humana. Aetna threatened federal officials with the pullout before the lawsuit was filed, and followed through on its threat once it was filed. Bates made the observations in the course of a ruling he issued Monday blocking the merger.
Aetna executives had moved heaven and earth to conceal their decision-making process from the court, in part by discussing the matter on the phone rather than in emails, and by shielding what did get put in writing with the cloak of attorney-client privilege, a practice Bates found came close to “malfeasance.”
Among the locations where Aetna withdrew were 17 counties in three states where the Department of Justice asserted that the merger would produce unlawfully low levels of competition. By pulling out, Aetna could say that it wasn’t competing in those counties anyway, rendering the government’s point moot: “The evidence provides persuasive support for the conclusion that Aetna withdrew from the on-exchange markets in the 17 complaint counties to improve its litigation position,” Bates wrote. “The Court does not credit the minimal efforts of Aetna executives to claim otherwise.”

Yep have to do the work if we want change. I can't wait to start working on this.
I get the significance (and also logistics), but April seems way to far away. Still, I'll be at whatever march comes next: camera in hand.
