Looks super tame by Asus standards to be honest. Just a VESA-mountable screen with a stand.
Nobody's going to be looking at the back of it anyway.

Yeah I like the idea of this Hades Canyon Intel/AMD tiny PC. Its very powerful for such a small device and would be great to have something like that for playing PC games in the lounge. Why did they stick a skull on it?
By reilo Go To PostWhy's so much game related hardware design so foul
Because they desperately want the hardware to appeal to kids. More sales that way.

By reilo Go To PostWhich kids are buying hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of computer hardware wtf
The parent’s of the kids.
Not saying there’s a large market currently there, but it’s definitely the aim to get in on it.
And he's gonna want a GPU or whatever based on its encasing design?? I don't think any of you thought this through lol
By diehard Go To Posthttps://www.anandtech.com/show/12235/asus-ces-2018-republic-of-gamers-lineupThe bezel-free kit looks mildly interesting.

I was talking about parents spending money on hardware for their kids part. He'll have a watercooled PC in kindergarten.
Second-gen Ryzen "Zen+" will be 12nm, and should be shipping in April. Supposed to be about a 10% improvement per watt. "Zen 2" before the end of the year and will be on 7nm.
Nothing exciting at all in 2018 for Radeon, which is unfortunate.

If it’s RGB, yeah.
Like, I’m not saying it’s the reason for all the gaudy looking designs out there, but I think there’s definitely some people in the industry looking through their data and thinking of the best way to bring more young teens and kids into the PC market.
Haven't they had that for a while? I know I saw a Corsair lapboard at QuakeCon at least two years ago.
By Smokey Go To PostAnd it's backlit :oWhich is not great. As I see it, 15h of use makes it almost pointless for desktop, should be great for couch gaming tho. I guess turning off the lighting could easily double that, but it's still nowhere near what the G613 offers. Still, it's a start. Fuck RGB, wireless all the things.

I'd welcome backlight on the g613
Idk about the block design. Then again I have the kraken x62, and it's the best looking aio on the market.
That 360 rad tho...

All this hardware
Had no idea Johnny was at Corsair...
Also don't know why you'd need a 1600 w PSU nowadays.
I'm using a 1300w EVGA g2 that's left over from my tri-sli Titan black setup. With that setup and a hex core i7, I think I was maybe around 900-1k full blast?
Efficiency has gotten better since then in CPUs and gpus...

You say that but then look at Kaby-Lake X or Vega when overclocked.
I think a lot of those high end PSU's go into mining rigs and power a lot of GPU's.

No way a kbx and vega rig requires 1600w or gets close. Does it? The mining rigs make sense, I was speaking more from primarily gaming focused rig.
By Smokey Go To PostI'd welcome backlight on the g613It's slightly cheaper though, which is nice. Agree that the x62 looks better with the circle design.

You would have to try to get that high on any normal PC. Overclocked i9-7960x with 3x Titan Xp's might hit .. 1000 watts? I guess if you added a bunch components on top of that you might be able to hit its optimal power usage curve.
By reilo Go To PostI also wonder if Kraken has a patent on their cooler design.AIO patents are all owned by a few companies, and it depends on the country they are sold in. Asetek really controls the market (at least in the U.S.) and they make pump design on the Kraken. I .. can't remember if that includes the water block , i think it does.
It sucks, all AIO's are going to be 90% the same.

By Smokey Go To PostNo way a kbx and vega rig requires 1600w or gets close. Does it? The mining rigs make sense, I was speaking more from primarily gaming focused rig.According to Buildzoid, 1080Ti’s can spike to 1000w when overclocked. It does only spike, it’s not a prolonged 1000w draw though, but I suppose the wattage overhead for that kinda shit is nice for some.
Legit surprised someone else watches buildzoid stuff. I bet those spikes all come from the caps, be a bit surprised if it ever drew that over the 12v rail.

get rid of that num pad if you aren't doing data entry. leaves more room for your mouse.

I love how they're trying to make it look like a monitor, lol.
Holy shit.
Already use a 40’ 4KHDTV in my setup but this is, something I would definitely think of doing in the future.😳

Best YouTuber with the worst hair. His videos on AM4 motherboard PCBs were the best and most informative shit I’ve ever watched.
And that’s likely, yeah, been awhile since I watched the video where he said that. Memory is a bit hazy.
Ugh, that Nvidia display looks quite disappointing PQ-wise. Shitty VA panel, shitty local dimming. Pass. Bring on microLED.

Yeah, it looks kind of bad in that Linus video. Especially since it's probably going to cost like $4,000.
