I downloaded ASUS' GPU Tweak II, but I'm not seeing an option to overlay metrics like you can with Afterburner and Precision X.
This bothers me. Really bothers me.
Unrelated but I took a second look at the 'successor' to my case, the Air 740, and it's just hideous. It certainly doesn't look better than my Air 540. The only improvement from what I can see is you can use up to 8x 120mm fans, with2 of those being at the bottom pushing air up. I'm already using a total of 7 120mm fans on my case. The 740 is also $50 cheaper than the 540, so maybe Corsair knows .

Though, it looks like some people are getting 60fps at max settings on many recent games with just the 1060: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1070-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB/3609vs3639

You and Phase are blessed with my Titan X's . I missed them, but I got a new girl now
The massive GPU ram really helps with >4k playback and Maya. It's definitely not the bottleneck ATM. And render times have been cut in half. It's been a joy to use. <3.
My biggest bottleneck at this point is data throughput. Still window shopping for affordable 5x raid setup up.

i can't tell if the pump on my h100 is making noise, or if its coil whine from the 1070, but its driving me crazy wtf
rumors out that pax east is 1080ti reveal (march)
tbh the card might be coming in too late
if volta gets released eoy or early next...thats a whole new arch and that usually brings a measurable leap in performance

Hm, gonna wait till next year to upgrade then.

have to admit...the rgb stuff in person is kind of dope. maybe because my gpu is the only thing in my case with it vs. countless fans, ram, and other items.
Looking hard at the InWin 909
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108479
The entire side panel is tempered glass. Couple pics
Air or water cooling
Buying the 1070 got me back into wanting to change stuff. Got a Z270 setup configured on Newegg too. Intrigued by Kaby Lake and 5ghz. Being on the HEDT platform and its pricing has lessened the impact when i look at the prices of Z270 etc.
The inWin is $400 tho. That's CaseLabs territory...

that was kind of a joke, its $900. I do have the Evolv ATX and its awesome. The tempered glass version looks even better

But why :x
are you looking at the right case? this is the video I saw where they claim it's $899, but I think that's in canadian dollars
looks pretty damn premium to me, $250 would be a good deal

I see it now, I was getting different hits when I was on mobile. I see it reports of it being $699 (US) tho, but still.

Played BF1 for a while at 130ish fps.
Might be converting to response > resolution. Had a few settings on Ultra, and the rest on low. Game still looked good at 2560x1440.

About to go buy the Corsair MM800 RGB mouse pad.
Help me.

It's neat if nothing else. I got my K65 RGB and the MM800 linked together. Did a quick little video showing what it looks like.

The mat is bigger than I expected. My mouse is a Logitech G502 Proteus (non RGB) so of course it doesn't sync with Corsair software. I do have a Corsair M65 (non-RGB) that I may need to flip for the RGB version so everything will be lined up right....
Other than that....it's a mat! G502 calibrated for the surface See how much of a difference it makes when playing.

Man, I'm the like polar opposite of you when it comes to the style of my accessories. lol
I just want plain-Jane stuff with no lights. I used a Razor keyboard and mouse for a while and turned off all the lights since they just bothered me. All my computer cases have been giant, non-descript black boxes with no see-through panels.

I love looking at hardware and accessories. With the RGB stuff you can do like you said, cut everything off, and you still have your plain KB/M.
But I don't just sit here and have it strobing colors all over the place when I'm on the comp lol
really didn't think I'd be using my setup to run everything at 4k exclusively but here we are--almost done with a full witcher 3 play (minus expansions) at 4k with a lot of effects still on high and I'm halfway through RE7 as my first 4k + HDR + Ultra experience. It's as good as it sounds. All this on i53570k + Maxwell Titan X 12gb.
I haven't checked Vram usage at all due to how much of it I have but I think 8gb "should" be enough at 4k. With how good I'm running things right now I don't think my next upgrade will be for a year or so. The Volta cards should be able to do 60 fps 4k for the higher spec'd games on the market at that time.
Nvidia keeps putting in werk on the software side. Switched from vsync to fast sync recently for my 4ktv and it works great. Cuts the input lag significantly with the same anti-tearing results.
Not sure what I'm going to do about my monitor setup though. It's a gsync 1080p set. If I want to play competitively then that's the go to, but the last time I tried my eyes were really really hurting at the resolution + size decrease from my 55 inch 4k set. Upgrading to a 4k gsync monitor seems like overkill, so I'll likely be in limbo on this issue for a while until I come up with a solution.

I don't know if I really need 4K for my computer monitor that will be only a couple feet away from me and no larger than 27". I will probably get a 1440p monitor, though. Especially once I can get one with GSync, 120+ hz, HDR, and non-TN panel for $750 or less.
e: oh, and preferably 10ms or less input lag. 15~18ms would be acceptable but not ideal.

Funny seeing Phaze speak on 4k. I was preaching it to you for months and I kept getting hit with that "1080p is good enough". It's not!
1440p is the sweet spot and is noticeably sharper than 1080p. It's funny how I'm willing to compromise on visuals for performance now after being stuck in console hell. Been playing BF1 in the 130fps range and it's great. Few things on Ultra, everything else on low.

Hmmm... looking now, there doesn't appear to be a big price difference in 1440p vs 4k monitors right now. Maybe when one with the specs I want comes out, I may get a 27" 4k and just play games in windowed @ 1440p since the screen is just so big, anyway.
I like HDR but honestly it's implementation has been hit or miss enough for me to not be looking for it for my next monitor.
Like...if I didn't actively know which games had HDR or not I'd honestly say the Witcher 3 had the best implementation of HDR, because that games use of color, lighting, and bloom is unreal. I can easily say FFXV doesn't look nearly as good, a game touted as one of the best uses of HDR. I like HDR a lot for film, but its super suspect in gaming right now.
I agree with Smokey about 1440p. I think I'll consider upgrading to a 27 inch 1440p gsync.
Funny thing is 1080p isn't nearly as offensive on my 4k set. I think it might be because it's naturally getting upscaled.

Yep , that's the reason. One of the "pluses" of moving to 4k, 1080p content should still look fine.
I still think that ASUS monitor that's hitting in Q3 is the end game. 144hz, local dimming, HDR, 4K, Gsync. It's also going to be $1,800 - $2,000.
