The current information is a bit thin on the ground in terms of specification, but we’re prepared to add what we do know to a bit of educated speculation. The panel is a 35” 3440 x 1440 (21:9 ‘UltraWide’) model with a native 200Hz refresh rate and support for Nvidia G-SYNC HDR (30 – 200Hz variable) to keep tearing and stuttering in check. The other aspect of this is the HDR (High Dynamic Range) capability, with support for HDR10. This model features an FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) solution with 512 zones on the backlight, allowing some sections of the screen to be very bright and some to be very dim. This compares favourably in terms of contrast performance to most LCD monitors, which simply have a single backlight controlled as one unit. As with all G-SYNC models, the backlight will almost certainly be ‘flicker-free’. It also makes use of Quantum Dots to enhance the colour gamut and hence potential range of shades and vibrancy potential offered by the monitor. The DCI-P3 colour space is supported, so a colour gamut of at least 125% sRGB is expected. Finally, 10-bit colour will be supported as this is another ‘G-SYNC HDR’ and HDR10 requirement.

Well
Would you potentially be interested in my setup? I have to get a new motherboard, proc, and ram anyway and was debating on selling those parts to help with the new stuff. Could get your 6c/12 threads 😁
By Smokey Go To PostWellI just may! What CPU do you have right now? I'm still on my i7 3770k.

By RobNBanks Go To PostMy 4790k should be good for like another 2-3 years right?Depends on what you are doing, but probably. I mostly want a better CPU so that I can stream while using the CPU to encode since that results in a better picture. I get too big a performance hit with my current setup since it doesn't have enough overhead when game settings are turned up.
By diehard Go To Postthats the one i want ..
$2000 uuuuuuuuugh
tbh I may take a look at these vs the 4k versions. When I tried the Ultrawide Swift at Fry's I was really impressed but had a hard time dropping 1k+ when I felt like something was right around the corner. Co worker just got a Ultrawide Predator and says it's a game changer.
By Kibner Go To PostI just may! What CPU do you have right now? I'm still on my i7 3770k.
4930k. Been running anywhere from 4.3ghz - 4.5ghz. Obviously it's an older setup, but it's been rock solid for me.

I feel like a 970/4790k should be decent for the near future but CSGO and PUBG got me doubting my specs. I'm getting like 140fps on the new operation maps in CS and PUBG being EA means its unoptimized trash for the time being.
2k+€/$ for that ultrawide, eh? I'm once again glad I decided not to wait and went with the Predator. Not too bothered about the ultra high refresh rate, as it is hard driving AAA games @ 100fps as is and besides g-sync takes care of smoothing things out. The only competitive game I play is Battlefield 1 anyway and I use the term competitive very loosely. HDR + FALD would be sensational, of course, but there's just no way I could justify paying 2k for these features this early in the PC HDR era. Hell, even dropping 1k on a UW monitor didn't feel quite right, though I'm happy I did.
Godspeed, Smokey. Make us proud.

By Hitch Go To PostNoticed that when my PC has been on and unused for a few hours, I get mouse-lag to the point that it needs restarting when I'm playing a gameDoes it only happen when you're playing a game? Check what processes are running in the task manager when it does and how taxing they are on the CPU. Mouse lag / stuttering is often associated with the CPU being overworked to the point of collapse, yes.
Is this likely a cpu issue?
Those prices are surely gonna come down, no? $242 for the entry level is *phew* but those specs are great if you need a purposeful gaming build.
supposedly, there was a leaked cinebench score for 1998X
that puts it inline with $2000 dual v2/v3 Xeons.
Amd better price accordingly.

My stupid Build Question.
The MOBO I got (MSI Z270 SLI Plus) has two M.2 connectors which (according to this section of this vid) support NVMe. Initially was getting the Samsung 850 EVO for her, but the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB M.2 version is 9 bucks cheaper and the Samsung 960 EVO (NVMe version) is just $20 more.
My questions are these:
1)NVMe is natively supported by the motherboard/BIOS right? I am not familiar at all with NVMe and have been reading up on it online lol. Yes it is.
2) You get a bigger benefit out of it if you are moving large amounts of files, I don't see any huge gaming benefits of the NVMe version. If that's the case should I just get the M.2 version? I'm not trying to be a cheapo, I'm just trying to understand the versions/uses.

By diehard Go To PostI wish i had a reason to upgrade from my 5820k , really i do.
I'm still using my 3570k (@4.2) with a 1070 at 1440p and I've not had any real issues especially now Forza Horizon 3 has been fixed. Getting 60-80fps in PUBG as well with a mix of settings too.
I'm sure the extra cores would help but I'd have to replace my mobo & cooler so I'm going to hold on as long as I can.
By The Frankman Go To PostMy stupid If that's the case should I just get the M.2 version? I'm not trying to be a cheapo, I'm just trying to understand the versions/uses.Get the M.2 version for sure, not only is it cheaper but you will save on some cabling and free up a drive bay for the exact same perfomance. Olnly possible downside is that its harder to hook up to a different computer should you need to for whatever reason. Maybe take a look at the MX300.. you essentially get a "free" 25GB for a drive i'd place on the exact same level as the Samsung.
I don't see a really good reason to spend the extra $20 for this use case unless you just want bragging rights or want to see something transfer at above 500MB/sec.

What GPU do you have? I've got post processing and AA on low I think, that made a decent difference.

Crazy. I had a nice bump from the last monthly patch and some settings do affect my FPS

Tends to be when I've left a Youtube window open in FireFox. I've heard that FF has a problem with becoming stupidly taxing on your machine when its been running for a while, maybe that's what's going on. Should really switch to Chrome at some point.
By Hitch Go To PostNah, it happens on the desktop/browser as wellYeah, that can happen, especially on older / weaker machines. I've been thinking of switching to Chrome as well, but everything is running as it should on my new PC with Windows 10 ... so far. If the stats are right, Firefox is doomed anyway. I guess I'll ride it out. :bigbosssalute:

By Laboured Go To PostSeems like by the time Vega is out we'll be a few months away from Volta. You should be asking yourself the same question regarding the 1080ti, m8. The hype-buy window has come and gone, might as well wait for Volta.
Why do they even bother?
I used to have Opera as my main browser. But a few things annoyed me, especially how slow tabs are to drag and drop from one window to another window. Works so much better on Chrome, while on Opera it has to be fucking pixel perfect.
Understandable. I just get way too much use out of the built-in mouse gestures, ad-blocker, and free VPN. It's also a better mobile browser than Chrome is on my Android devices and I can share my bookmarks and open tabs between all my devices with it very easily.
e: my only noteable beef with Opera is that it doesn't really support ChomeCast, so I still have to use Chrome for that. I also have every major browser installed for testing purposes, so I guess it doesn't really matter, but still!

Bought the G810 recently coupled with the G403.
Have been using a Razer DeathStalker for a while since I moved a to a new place.
The Romer-G switches are pretty nice to type on and game. Plus the back-light is contained within the keys and I find that better for me personally. The RGB is sensational. The G403 has reviewed well and I went with it after checking out a few videos on Rocket Jump Ninja channel.
Next is doing some Ikea table hacks, want to upgrade on the set-up I currently use. I love the set-ups I see on tech youtubers.
What a time.
For browsers recently switched to Opera and it's been flawless so far. Being able to add Chrome extensions is a bonus too since it's based on Chromium.
This case though. Fucking hell.

Yeah the G810 is sensational. As a total package I much prefer it over my Corsair mechanical keyboard for some of the reasons you mentioned and more.

So many mechanical keyboards not having a volume wheel, narrowed down my options a lot as well. I fucking hate not having it, or having it on keys. Went with g910, mostly because the G810 was still very new and as a result, more expensive around here at the time. Also I am one of the few who actually use a fair few of the extra buttons. Feel like it's a bit too big as a result though, also I hate how it looks (although not as much as some other Mech keyboards, Christ some are ugly).

Rather have a standard orientation such as on the G810.
I would rather not have any on top, but I find myself using the ones on the left quite a bit when playing CS.
I really want to get a mechanical keyboard but I love my LCD screen on my G15 for showing CPU/GPU temps & fan speeds etc. The Logitech ARX stuff looks like trash and no one else offers a screen with a mechanical keyboard.
Now that it's working properly again, I gotta say I love my K70 RGB with reds. Yeah, I'm not a fan of how the lighting spills from under the keys either, but eh, I've got it set to a dim white light on all keys anyway, so whatever. Also, Corsair's CUE software looks and feels much better now.
Got my mechanical keyboard today, went with a DASkeyboard 4 professional cherry brown. Wanted the media keys and didn't care about backlight.

Great pick. I have a DAS Ultimate in my stable, with no key lettering. Cherry blue. I like it but my wife complained about no key markings when shed use it, smh . I like the all business look of it too. Once you use a mechanical, you not going back.
7900x (10c / 20 thread) engineering sample
OC to 4.5 @ only 1.15v. That's incredible, but again it's an ES.
Debating between the 7820x and the 7900x, but I'd be lying if I was leaning towards the i9. Feel like a jump from 6 to 10 cores would be more of a upgrade than 6 to 8, and if it OCs anything near this ES sample, looks to be provide best if both worlds for gaming (high clock speed) and production (10c/20t).

My current motherboard, Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition, has been rock solid and has a bunch of useful features . Will probably roll with the Rampage VI Extreme when the time comes for me to move over.
