Essentially just slightly better than a Pascal Titan X.
Wonder what the OC potential is like.

Let's go
Titan X Pascal and GTX 1080 Ti build on the vanilla 1080's excellent performance, adding the additional overhead required to get the job done on a range of the latest games. It's possible to enjoy full native 4K resolution with 60fps gameplay on the likes of Forza Horizon 3, Battlefield 1, Gears of War 4, Titanfall 2 and Watch Dogs 2 with only minimal tweaking - and the experience is nothing short of epic.
In this sense, the 31 per cent performance uplift we measured here translates into a feeling of much more when you're actually sat at your PC playing games on a 4K display. It's so much easier to hit the 60fps threshold, and in many cases, sustaining this super-smooth frame-rate requires no more tweaking than achieving a 1080p60 lock when gaming with GTX 970. Some titles do prove more troublesome though and we suspect that upcoming Nvidia products with HBM2-level memory bandwidth may well be the final piece of the puzzle required to truly get the job done.
But in the here and now, the GTX 1080 Ti is the best GPU companion for maximising gameplay results on a 4K display. However, while ultra HD costs have tumbled (40-inch UHD TVs make for great desktop displays), the price premium remains very high, even with the massive price-cut compared to Titan X Pascal. However, as always, we should consider these products as previews of the more mainstream products to follow a year or so download the line. 2015's Maxwell-based Titan X spawned 2016's far cheaper GTX 1070, after all. The notion of this level of power in a £350 GPU a year or so ahead is tantalising to say the least.

Sounds like there is serious potential for overclocking too, possibly up to 2100mhz if you're lucky. Especially if you whack on a good cooler.
That's potentially a 15tflop card right there.
At this point I'd like to thank AMD for making Vega remotely competitive so that Nvidia actually put some effort into this one.

Not even that. And if you OC it properly then no tweaking required.
Ok finally I have convinced my sis that Dell is the Devil and for me to build her new gaming computer. I'll put together a build this weekend, but I'll need a MOBO that has room for an SSD and two (yes two) hard drive spots. I have to raid her old computer and put in one hard drive whole.
Getting the SSD is easy, can't go wrong with Samsung Evo (120 or 250 GB). The memory card will be though... she plays nothing remotely graphic intensive (Guild Wars 2 and Big Fish Games) yet wants a super top of the line card. Gonna have to check out Hazaro's list and see what I can make work on PCPartPicker. Although I usually build gaming rigs with overclock upgradeability, I don't overclock myself (yet). Any suggestions/tips on recommended gaming cards (AMD vs. nVidia) and MOBOs I should know? I'll get back to here tomorrow.

What is your budget? I wouldn't go below a Geforce 1050 or an RX 460. The 1060 or RX 480 is the best value for mid-tier cards. A 1070 could be a good compromise between price and her wanting a top of the line card.
after some quick googling, Guild Wars seems to be single threaded and CPU Bound.. so spend your money there.
Would love to have a reason to get vr thirst again... thought we'd have heard about new versions by now
Finally got everything set up.
I'm going to have to send one of the ML Pros back in exchange for a 120mm version.. I don't understand how Corsair made an oversight on their own case in relation to their product, but they did. Any 140mm Corsair fan with extra padding will not fit in the exhaust. I ran into this when I first got the case, and completely forgot about it. All of my fans are now running off of the motherboard headers. All 3 ML's are running between 540 RPM - 570 RPM, with the 2 Kraken MLs set to silent. Can barely hear anything. The dominant noise I hear is actually the stock 140mm fan that came with case. Everything else is silent.
The NZKT looks really good, and makes the Corsair AIO products seem out of date. There's tons of modes in the software and overall seems more premium imo.
Rocking that 1060 tho

By reilo Go To PostThat NZXT looks incredible. Your GPU needs a cover though.
Yeah, my 1070 Strix had one, but this particular Asus 1060 doesn't. I think it's the line below Strix, idk.
Telling you, the Kraken looks legit af in person. I can't capture it well on my phone. Hardware Canucks was able to capture it incredibly well
Project Neon Gaming / Music Room has officially begun.
In the process of tearing it all down at the moment. Adios, Ikea Galant desk, you have served me well over the past five years, but it's time to retire.
Welcome, custom table top with dat sexy curve to match the curve of the soon-to-be-bought ultrawide monitor. Please be good, HP Omen 35".
I'll be repainting the walls, also treating the room acoustically with DIY absorption panels, traps & stuff, so it's gonna take me a good while. Have my PC hooked up to the living room TV at the moment, a first. Loving it so far, no input lag to speak of in game mode. I'll have to figure out how to best connect the new PC to the TV via HDMI + USB (or wireless). HDMI over ethernet might be the cheapest and most effective option.

By Laboured Go To PostYou're a madman Zabo.I'm actually considering getting the 1080 Ti now, so yes. Absolutely.
By Laboured Go To PostAtta boy.Work bonuses are a blessing. And a curse.
So it looks like it's just going to be Founders Editions today with the custom cards not hitting until April.
Diehard where you at

By diehard Go To PostLiterally any other motherboard will have the SATA connections for 3 drives. Little confused when you say you have to raid her old computer though…I plan to buy one SSD, a 2 TB(?) WD Black/Blue HDD and get the Hard Drive out of her old computer to use as a secondary storage drive. She was willing to spend like 1600 for a Dell and stuff she wouldn't need, so I'm really the person who's budget conscious here. She'll want a Top of the line card though for Guild Wars 2, I'll check out the lower end top cards if that makes sense.

I know we're going high end with the card, CPU, SSD/HD and memory though. She may not game like I do but she does play alot of browser games. Got her looking at cases now since she likes the Alienware design
By RobNBanks Go To Posti wanna build a new pc but im broke afI've needed a new SSD for 3 months due to space issues but can't. I'm broke myself.
i hate this thread
The in-bound custom cards in case they've not been posted.

Anyways, thinking gsync is my next option. Currently gaming on 1440p mostly. Don't know if ultra wide is necessary.
Hm...
Hm...
Don't let Zabo see you say that. Ultra wide would be great were it near universal in use in games. Way too patchy.
I don't think it's a good solution for especially for something like playing FPS online. You need your FOV concentrated otherwise your peripheral vision just won't capture everything unless you wanna sit far back enough.

trash fov is why I can't really play Destiny on my 55 inch. It's a shame
By reilo Go To PostUltrawide feels more for production rather than gaming use.

Most new games (those I care about anyway) support it out of the box, those that don't get patched / modded in a matter of days, weeks at most. And if a game by some chance can't be made to run properly in ultrawide ... It's not the end of the world. 34-35" with bars on the side is still plenty big. I played TW3 in 21:9 for a couple of hours at a buddy's last week and, yeah, there's no way I'm buying a 16:9 monitor. Sorry m8s. #NotSorry
I really like 21:9. It's especially awesome in mechwarrior online, it actually gives you a better view out your cockpit.
By reilo Go To PostNot saying it's bad for all types of games, just that it's not great for specific types.Too late. Into the 16:9 jihadist drawer with Laboured you go.
By Adam Blade Go To PostZabo gonna get ya, Smokey.I'm the reverse Smokey. Silence and subdued looks vs. look-at-me-I'm-a-gaming-PC.
You ain't the king no more.
Might just keep my trusty old Define XL and my Freezer Xtreme and buy some Silent Wings 3 to go with it.
