By Kibner Go To PostAnother way to look at 3pt defense is points-per-possesion-from-3PTAs. That would work to combine both the 3pt% and 3pta stats. Not sure if any site calculates that, though. And I sure as hell don't feel like spending the next 30 minutes to figure it out myself.Wouldn't that just be 3P% * 3? The per possession component would negate the number of attempts. If you wanted to combine both, you could generate a total points from 3PAs number, which I've done here. I need to find a better way to pull out these stats.
Elf's putting up a stat line that looks like YNB.
Hayward and Gobert the only good players on the court for the Jazz again.

This is Hill's first bad game here. Orlando laying the blueprint on how to score on the Jazz: ignore any semblance of post play and just have your bigs shoot 3's and long 2's.

Now, as to what we can use to best determine that, I'm not 100% sure on.
*snip*
I think maybe taking the "PTS" column in your spreadsheet (good work, btw) and adjusting it for pace would be a good start. I haven't thought of any major flaws in doing it like that, at least.

Hayward is 32nd, just ahead of DeKobe.
chandlerparsons, there is a better way to pull those stats, but you have to pay for it and it isn't cheap. :(
Those Gobert calls are just the result of always being at the rim, and getting above people just like the rest of those guys in the top 7. They arent really superstar calls.

- Harden
- Butler
- Giannis
- Cousins
- Isaiah Thomas
- Anthony Davis
- Westbrook

Loss To 76ers Led To Locker Room Tirade From Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony went on a tirade in the locker room after the New York Knicks' loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in which they blew a 10-point lead in the final 2:30.
Anthony was upset with the loss and also that he was frozen out on the Knicks' final possession, a sequence that ended with Kristaps Porzingis shooting an air ball from the corner. Anthony never touched the ball on the possession.
Anthony's relationship with Phil Jackson has never been great and it's much worse now. Jackson ignored Anthony's suggestion on interviewing Tom Thibodeau and he also criticized Anthony for stalling the offence.

Carmelo Anthony Reportedly Would Only Approve Trade To Cavs, Clippers
While Anthony has a no-trade clause and has said he'd like to remain with the New York Knicks, he could approve a trade to either the Cleveland Cavaliers or Los Angeles Clippers.
"It’s understood that he’d only accept being dealt to the Cavaliers or the Clippers," wrote Charley Rosen, who is perhaps the media member with the closest relationship with Phil Jackson.
Anthony has an early termination option after the 17-18 season.
Anthony has a PER of 19.4 this season, down from his career highs of 24.8 in 12-13 and 24.2 in 13-14.

Guess the Cavs could offer Love if they really wanted Melo.. they clippers really have nothing worth anything besides Blake
By rodeoclown Go To PostBut Kevin Love is better than Carmelo.Never said that he wasn't... Melo is still a better scorer than Love, but the Cavs don't need scoring..

It would likely have to be a 3 team trade and yeah there is a lot of smoke of a Carmelo trade happening. That Rosen article being the biggest signified. Then Melo did a few "woe is me" tweets.....
Anyhow If those are the only teams he will go to it makes sense to move him before he changes his mind. Another team might make a offer both Melo and Phil can't refuse but yeah I could see him not being open to leaving to other teams. Sort of how he focused on the Knicks and forced his way specifically to them......
I would prefer he get sent to the clippers and then the Knicks get Blake...... who they immediately ship somewhere else for picks...... but as a knick fan I know we don't get nice things......

I dunno, if you were the Clippers, would you give up Blake for Carmelo?
Carmelo: 32 yrs. old, 22.1 pg, 6.1 rpg .425 FG% $24 mil
Blake: 27 yrs. old, 21.2 ppg, 8.8rpg .480 FG% $20 mil
And they already know Blake fits with their team while Carmelo would be a question mark. I just don't think it makes any sense for them. And I can't see them moving DeAndre if their goal is finally getting over the hump. The only thing that would be logical from LA's end would be something based around Redick, spare parts + picks which would get Jackson savaged in NY. If he trades Carmelo he has to come out of it with some kind of younger promising player.
Honestly, I think Carmelo stays a Knick.

Salaries don't work unless they throw blake or Jordan in.
I've said this on other forums but the best time to move Melo would be during FA either by a sign and trade or someone absorbing him..... Doing it now, It has to be a 3, possibly even 4 team trade. That article to me was as much a sign to those 2 teams they could trade for Melo as it was to other teams to reach out and see whats on the table. Somebody is going to have to facilitate that trade due to cap reasons.
Redick might be more important to the Clippers success than Blake. Not saying he's better but a super consistent, efficient shooter that can play D would be a lot to lose for Melo. I'd never give him up for Melo. Clippers get worse in that scenario.
Would Melo play defense with his best friend Chris yelling at him to do so or he won't get the ball?
By livefromkyoto Go To PostI dunno, if you were the Clippers, would you give up Blake for Carmelo? What? Blake does not fit with the clippers at all. That's why they often look better when he's out. The Clippers need a stretch 4 and Melo would be better at that than Blake. I would want more back for Blake than just Melo though. A 3 team deal might work.

Had to check that, but it looks like their best lineup has Griffin in it:

Damn, sorry, I can't read. Yeah, the Clippers wouldn't do that straight up.
I really can't see anybody that's close trading for Carmelo. But then, I don't feel anything for him since he took the money knowing the Knicks wouldn't be good.

If a 3rd team was brought in Lee and O'quinn would be great add-on's for a deal. Maybe some youth and picks for Reddick, O'quinn, Lee and/or Crawford.
