By reilo Go To PostWe would've known by now, and the fact that the Knicks opted to fine him? If "family emergency" was the case… why not come out and say it? Put out a real quote by a FO member and call it a day. Instead, PJ and management has been dead silent on this. Either PJ is a giant dick (probable) or Rose was throwing a hissy fit because of a demotion to the bench. There's more evidence leading to the latter (benched in consecutive games in the fourth, reported arguments with Hornacek) than the "sick family member" story.
Well the mental health theory could be true too..... explains why everybody is being so mum about it, even the small fine is just a decoy to maybe get people off Rose's back..... It also explains why the heck he didn't text if he was having a "issue" I doubt that was on his mind. Actually considering that he came back and neither side seems angry at the other..... the mental health thing makes sense. Shit I literally took today off my job because I got so pissed yesterday I was about to quit today. My supervisor doesn't even know because I try not to let her know how much I hate them all because I work there...... now imagine that for Rose on the Knicks.
By Moris Go To PostWe didn't get "official" word on Hibbert's severe depression til way after the fact, sports world isn't exactly up to date on mental health issues. I'm gonna chill til details come out. NY media will have the word before the weekend most likely.
Yep and maybe his recent play, and benching when this is suppose to be his return led to that
By masud Go To PostIf the Knicks were still over 500 and Rose was playing well and not getting benched for undrafted rookies do you really think he disappears on game day without the knicks getting notified? Hell no. Rose said he didn't pick up the phone when the Knicks were blowing him up because he "needed his space" thats such a fucking red flag. This situation reminded me of the whole apple cutting thing, Rose is just a weird dude. And hes not even good anymore! Forget not resigning him they should look to move him now. I thought this fiasco would get the Knicks to see that but the fact that Rose is not being suspended is terrifying to me. They better not resign him man…
Problem with trading him is his contract is too large to not have to take something back. Even if they add a late pick..... its probably not worth it. Better to go through the season, "tank", and then try and go for teague or george hill in FA...... Keep in mind I am against that too and wish they would spend less money and continue to go young. Maybe get Hornecek the players he needs for his system, and start to look at Melo as Paul Pierce in his decline status......
"click bait"?
This is... like, as factual as you can be about the Knicks:
This is... like, as factual as you can be about the Knicks:
Of course, the Knicks always win in July and August. They make moves, spend outrageous sums of money, puff their chests and announce that they're back. Even some naïve fans and media types buy it.No lies detected. There's nothing wrong with this article that Isola wrote and it's pretty on point.
And then the games start. And when the NBA requires that teams are judged by wins and losses, the Knicks always fall woefully short.
By Fenderputty Go To PostDoes Reilo hate the Knicks or the Lakers more?Fuck em both, I say.
i never understood why the Knicks were worth hating.
Dolan is a douche and they kinda suck? Is that enough?

Kevin Garnett has officially signed on as a consultant this week with the LA Clippers. The 15-time All-Star will occasionally help out at practices but will not be on the bench at games or travel with the Clippers, a team representative said.
😐
Easy peasy pay check and he doesn't have to stomach their in game shenanigans. Damn that dude is smart.

Likely a case of reactions to the fanbase moreso than the thing they're fans of, they're the NBA's JCole.
Fanbase? I don't recall the fanbase having shit all to do with the toxic fucking culture of the current organization.

OK then, to be fair Lakers fans aint shit either
I would say something about the blazer fan base but they know what they are
Who's backing away? We all know how much you care about certain (non) issues for you.
Anyway fuck that organization.
Plus I like the Knicks fans here even when they're delusional.

We play the Cavs tonight, and the Blazers play them tomorrow. Blazers are going to get lucky and get the B squad huh?

What? I don't think that has to do with the vitriol the team gets. Fans WANT all opposing teams to be run like shit. Knicks have a huge, loyal, passionate fan base, they get hella news coverage even when they're bottom feeding, it's not crazy that in general they get push-back

Totally fair, Lakers are in a similar position with the obvious exception of modern success.
If the Lakers have Knick-level success for the next 15 years.. I'll probably stop hating them.

I've started disliking Knicks fans much less once I started selling tickets to those games at a very hefty markup.

I'm totally down to take back a bad contract or two for Rose. As long as we're adequately compensated. We're not gonna need capspace for a while, who of any importance is gonna sign with the Knicks right now? If we can get some picks (what we really need) then why not?
edit: and people don't hate the Knicks because of their fans. It's just city envy whether they want to admit it to themselves or not. 😉
By knux-future Go To PostI have nothing against Knicks fans. I feel like they understand true suffering.
As I suffered through one of the worst owners in NBA history I can sympathize with most of them. It's just the ones that get overly excited at the smallest things that I like to make fun of.

aint nobody on lakersground puffing their chests about signing big free agents--they now know how difficult it is to go from being bad to even decent

To a point your right but you never know, cap space is an asset, I rather not have it locked up in the modern equivalent of Luc Longley and Glen Rice for the 27th pick.

Because going into the luxury tax automatically means you win a chip, right??

Well there is Puddles..
Thibs on Tyus:
He's great in practice, he's great in preparation. I think he's going to get better and better as time goes on. Every time he plays, good things happen. But I can't play him because he's better than Dunn and I'd look bad.
By blackace Go To PostBecause going into the luxury tax automatically means you win a chip, right??That's a dishonest representation.
If we assume you need a "big 3" and each of them are on max or near max, then 75% of your cap is gone on 3 players. To flesh out a solid roster ... you're going to have to go into luxury tax, if you want to genuinely contend.
By diehard Go To Postlaker fans are not humbled at all
I think most of us knew this was coming, honestly. Sustained success only lasts as long as your superstar does and our FO was horrible even when we won our last 2 chips. Bench was always paper thin and a lot of "WTF" kind of signings.
Not much has changed except we don't have players the caliber of Kobe/Pau or even LO. Hopefully one of young guys develop into a superstar or at least an all-star so we can attract some talent.

I mean, the amount of ring chasers who actually could make a difference is way down.
But he went out and got the big 3 by trading for Love.. then he made the trade for JR and Shump. All 3 players played huge roles in their chip.. As well as Frye.. Then he goes out and gets Korver? Only moves that were "meh" by him so far imo was signing TT and JR to them sizeable contracts, but I can understand why it happened.
I mean Presti had one of the biggest 3 ever... if they wouldn't have quibbled over small money (in basketball terms) that big 3 would have been insane.. But even after failing at that he didn't find ways to put talent around his two mega stars.. Even in Miami they didn't chip until they got some decent players on the bench.
