Best Offensive Lineups
Best Defensive Lineups

I don't know if anyone keeps track of blown leads, but the Lakers have to lead the league or be close to it.
By DY_nasty Go To PostCharlotte with a top 5 offensive AND defensive lineup???I am more shocked that the Pacers have a top 15 O lineup
By DY_nasty Go To PostCharlotte with a top 5 offensive AND defensive lineup???There's literally only 14 lineups with that criteria. Still pretty good though.
By p s y Go To Postdamn im killing it on titles over the last couple yearsI remember you had one I really liked a min ago
If Jennings could drop over 30 points on us, I expect Wall to get whatever he wants against our defense.
Come back soon Capela and Beverley. :'(
I can never see the name McCollum without thinking "McGollum." Science must have a name for this syndrome.
Nice title.
With Hornacek recently saying that he's considering limiting the minutes of the veterans in order to get maximum effort Knick fandom has been discussing the possibility of bringing Melo off the bench. I'm with it in theory, we wouldn't have to try and hide multiple terrible defenders in the starting lineup anymore, we could play Melo more at the 4 (where he should be playing almost all of his minutes at this point), we could insert him against specific players to maximize what he has left, and it would prolong his career. Added bonus is that he might get pissed and waive his ntc (not happening lol). But the problem with benching Melo is that we don't have another starting 3 on the roster. Lance Thomas is a scrub on offense and Kuz (or Holiday) would be at a physical disadvantage most nights. I feel like we'd have to make a trade for this to work. One of our surplus bigs for a long defensive minded swing man, preferably one with a 3 point shot.

Carmelo Anthony is not coming off the bench man, don't be silly. That would be the worst kind of drama you could invite..

I can't imagine.
By masud Go To PostDrama leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering, suffering leads to lottery picksExcept when you're New York teams
By Kabro Go To PostExcept when you're New York teamsOh it's a new day son. Ya'll stole our pick in 2015 and still ended up with the worse player. The Lakers are the new Knicks you just haven't accepted it yet.

By masud Go To PostDrama leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering, suffering leads to lottery pickst wouldn't work. He'd turn the whole room toxic. And that would mean you have a massive payroll being toxic for any young player that comes in.
Plus, Melo has several business interestes with Dolan. Dolan's not doing that to his business.

I don't even know how apparently a number of people can entertain the idea. It sets up a god awful precedent. Basketball wise, it makes no sense. Kiss goodbye to team cohesion. Etc. Ugh.

Etc. Ugh.What how can you even say that? Have you watched Melo play this year. He's been awful. I get the toxic stuff but it makes all the sense in the world from a basketball standpoint. Bottom line is Melo's best position is also the best position for our best overall player and future of the franchise.
By reilo Go To PostThey'll bench KP before they bench smell because politics.
When even auto-correct says lol Knicks.

preach!
By unknown Go To PostI want to tank, saw enough and makes the most sense.
Have you seen that kid Frank Ntilikina from France?
He is likely a top 10 draft kid..... I think the knicks could get him.
I mean. The one real positive is that the Knicks have stopped trading away their draft picks. That's putting them in a better position than they've been in for YEARS.
By CRUD Go To PostAll this tank talk… damn.
The 8th seed out West is gonna be weak as fuck. LA is a 5 game win streak from it or a 5 game losing streak from a top pick. One of those things helps them in the future much more.

I like Hornacek too.
The knicks do have some nice pieces and the potential for cap space. I expect they will go hard this month but if they come out of it with a losing record they will look to make moves for the future and may trade some people (specifically KOQ)
If they come out of it winning they likely wont touch anything.
By Moris Go To PostJust need LA to get to bottom 5 for that 33% shot at keeping their pick. Not sure they can get there after that start.
Nets, Suns, 76'ers, Mavs, Heat, Wolves are all worse at the moment. And 5 of those teams are legitimately bad teams (for varying reasons). LA's best hope would be the Heat and Wolves putting on a few wins.
Lakers have had the fourth hardest schedule and it's only gonna ease up. Sorry Moris, say goodbye to that pick.
By CRUD Go To PostAll this tank talk… damn.tanking is one helluva drug.

I mean. You've got one, KP.
The rest are just pieces for the most part. There's the massively overpaid Rose and Noah. Rose is expiring, but in an NBA with a rapidly expanding Cap, that hasn't meant much for a while. And Melo who... i don't even know.
That's not to say they're BAD pieces. Just ... the wrong ones. Rose is playing ok (just not getting a ROI). Lee is solid. But the cupboard is pretty bare, really.
Wait, Westbrook has a 42 USG%?! Oh my god, he's gonna die.
Kobe lead the league three times in USG%:
38.7% (2005-06)
35.7% (2011-12)
35.1% (2010-11)
Kobe's 38.7% is the highest mark in the history of the NBA, and Westbrook is gonna shatter it.

By butt Go To PostIn what world is the noah contract even remotely logical? It isn't. It's probably the worst signing Phil has done... and it was a very poor one. A massive long shot.

Westbrook's biggest achievement this year wouldn't be an MVP trophy, it would be surviving.
By giririsss Go To PostI mean. You've got one, KP.Hey Hernangomez has real potential. Kuz is solid too he just doesn't have potential cause he's old.

Not my fault you dont stay abreast of Knicks basketball. They can both play.
By giririsss Go To PostIt isn't. It's probably the worst signing Phil has done… and it was a very poor one. A massive long shot.Phil's worst signing was Melo. By far.
By masud Go To PostNot my fault you dont stay abreast of Knicks basketball. They can both play.Like. There's so many ways the Melo one was defensible. For many reasons (not all of them about on the court production).

I'm not saying it was GOOD. But ... defensible. Noah was just ... a very long shot.
By giririsss Go To PostLike. There's so many ways the Melo one was defensible. For many reasons (not all of them about on the court production). The no trade clause puts the Melo deal over the top for me (only other players in the league with them are Dirk and Lebron). He basically handed the franchise to an aging "superstar" whos never won anything and committed to 5 years of losing.
I'm not saying it was GOOD. But … defensible. Noah was just … a very long shot.
