Metal Gear Rising looks like a game that the devs crammed with stupid shit because they couldn't be bothered to make it good. Watching it being played on Easy though, so I assume there's some depth to the combat that doesn't come across.

The bank was going to foreclose the property on Friday and I believe the movie starts earlier in the week, so they only had 3 or 4 days to get the money.
So the timeline is: Pine cares for the mother (don't know how long, possibly months), she passes a few weeks before the film is set. The heists are a couple of days before the deadline on Friday. It is unknown when oil was found and I think only Pine knew, but possibly the bank did too because they were so eager to stall, hence the fax scene. It could also be because the banks are simply depicted as land grabbing scumbags, without an ulterior motive. Haves versus have-nots, the cycle of poverty and all that.
So with that out of the way, the timeline is vague because I don't think we know when Pine learned there was oil on his land. I'm going to believe that it would take too long to set up all the pumpjacks. However, it's a stretch that robbing banks would be a better solution, yeah. Why he didn't sell the heavy equipment I really can't tell. The whole thing of Pine only wanting to commit victimless crimes, thus robbing a faceless bank, also doesn't hold truth if they're out and about stealing people's cars. Nice to fuck over some poor family.

Wow, Scorpio is sounding like a redundancy if those numbers are accurate. Shame as I was hoping they would really bring a 4k machine this year but it looks like we're still a few years out.
A native 4K machine would be too expensive, and absolutely redundant, when you can just build a PC that would do so much more.
