I'm actually changing desks because I'm moving away from a black & white scheme. Also because the corner desk I have right now isn't really working in the small room I have dedicated to PC / guitar / other hobbies. I'll be getting a wooden desk, I'm just not sure which wood type to pick. I'll probably go with a lighter shade tho, because if I get a really dark wood, well, that's basically trading white for black, which is something I'd like to avoid.

As for the size, I want something that's close to the dimensions of my current desk. So 210 x 80cm. 210 x 70 at the very least. I'm used to having lots of space, as I like sitting very close to the desk, so I can have the whole of my forearms resting on it and still have some space between my mousepad and speakers. Also because I'll be getting a pretty big monitor this year (34"+), so the further away from it I'm able to sit, if I choose to, the better. I see lots of people using Ikea countertops in their 'rustic' setups, but at 63cm deep that's just not enough for my taste & needs.
