By Wedward Go To PostI'd prefer more dramas had a bit of levity in them.
It's Manchester By The Sea was so great.
Can't stand books or movies that don't have a single joke or laugh.
I genuinely laughed out loud like 10 times. Fuck, that was a good film. That kid was so good
Casey was astonishing. How do you do so much by doing so little
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostIf you're min/maxing your character yeah. Marrying is not a big deal.I mean, I'm sure it is on Nintendo platforms.
The core gameplay is pretty great.
The phone version is going to be one of those gacha grindfests that I got tired of two days in. Plus, you know, anime stuff. Eh...
By Woodenpapangus Go To PostIf you don't like airplane and naked gun, you are deadder than Leslie Nielsen inside.YES WOODEN!
What we do in the shadows might be the best modern outright comedy. That and Four Lions popped in my head immediately.
Although whenever I am bored and thinking of what to watch I put Step Brothers on. Fuck me that movie's so stupid and watchable.

Fairly erect, but mostly about quiche picking me up at the airport.

I reckon The Nice Guys is Black's best yet #kontraversy
Started rewatching Partridge again today, gf hadn't seen them before. She was very confused by the bit with Alan in his leather pants
My friend's been trying to make me watch What We Do In The Shadows for what feels like years, lol. Might watch it later, finally.

This is what democracy looks like.
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostLiked Nice Guys but man, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang made me laugh out loud at a lot of parts.Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is brilliant.
I still need to see The Nice Guys. My cable/ISP provider back home gifted 12 movies from their on demand video store to clients, Deadpool and The Nice Guys were among them so I'll check it out when I go home next week.
By Wedward Go To PostThis is what democracy looks like.As someone who works in education - I want to cry watching that

Two things:
1) Elizabeth Warren is brilliant
2) why the fuck do they interrogate Trump's cabinet picks to within an inch of their lives but not King Cunt himself

Pretty interesting.
Nice. Think his next one is about a conscientious objector during World War II.
Great taste.

While the director has enjoyed the freedom that comes from this mode of production, he claims to be gravitating back toward working with clear scripts and pre-planned productions.

Smokin’ Aces was a surprise favorite – “very well directed,” he said, and showcasing an impressive ability to balance multiple plotlines.
Great taste.
“Keep that love close to your heart, and you will make a difference; cinema needs people like that.”

We're fucked here and all :lol. 40% of new teachers leave the profession in the first five years. I have more marking than time, deadlines to meet for reports every week, kids that are going to severely underachievers because the new exams are too hard with undefined grade boundaries that'll fuck them over and then be changed again when the government realise everyone is fucked and/or parties change hands. The PM wants to open new grammar schools and make top tier education more selective, teachers are getting paid the equivalent of five hours a day for 12 hours work, class sizes are growing, teaching to the test is increasingly prevalent and the curriculum is bone dry.
But the holidays are decent.
Education is a problem everywhere I guess.
My mother in law is a principal and is retiring because she has given up on Malaysia's god awful constant syllabus changes.

I need to watch more films. Missed out loads the past of couple of years. Need to make a list of the ones you lot listed here.
Think I'll go see Manchester By The Sea on Monday.

I'm so glad we don't have idiots like her running shit in Canada.

Canadians are too busy being upset that Trudeau answered a question in French from Quebecois anglophones.

Two mangoes.
Have a friend that was a teacher for a couple years and now works in education policy.

https://www.theguardian.com/education/2017/jan/17/cuts-headteachers-schools-funding-crisis
A report by the National Audit Office has said schools face cuts of 8% in real terms by 2019-20.
To make matters worse, the education services grant, worth £600m, is also being cut, which means there will be less money for local authorities or academies to provide services such as school improvement.
‘We’ve cut our counsellor’s hours despite suicide attempts’
I can’t afford my own special needs coordinator [who makes sure pupils with disabilities or special needs get the right support], so I share one with another school. I’m a school of 1,500 and the other school has 1,100 students. I’ve restructured everything. Over the last few years I’ve taken 13.2 full-time equivalent teaching staff out of the system through redundancy and non-replacement of staff. This includes two members of the senior leadership team. I don’t put any money into computers, I’m running nine-year-old computers.
