By Kikarian Go To PostTrailers have been getting progressively worse in terms of spoilers though. The worst culprits are comedies. All the jokes are in the trailers
The obvious aim of a trailer is to get you interested so it's going to show you at least some of the best scenes from the film. But they give you too much information.
Once you watch them you can easily put 2 and 2 together and get the general idea of what's going to happen. You're basically then watching the full film to fill in the blanks in between.
Although I do think people can get carried away with labelling something a spoiler that is a clearly a minute detail.
By Wedward Go To PostSpoiler culture is a direct result of people being obsessed with twists in their stories.
I don't understand how it's hard to understand, that people prefer not to know what happens. Doesn't have to be a twist, but just some excitement in not knowing what will happen and wondering that while watching.
It never ruined anything for me, but I do enjoy not knowing what happens in games, movies, TV shows and books.

If a comedy only has two minutes worth of jokes it's probably a bad film.

I'm on the highway. Home in an hour or so. Just need to stop at a McDonald's. Please understand.

Don't have a problem with that being their preference. But if something is already out in the wild than it is fair game to discuss.
Looks like this RM will collapse the same as Ancelotti's Madrid did in 2014-2015. It will be a great ride.
each time I get into a band they either all FUCKING DIE in quick succession or I discover that one of them was tragically taken away too soon.
so yeah guys I'm taking requests

We're really missing Bale, we look toothless now and the run has killed us physically/mentally.
Remember when we had that 35 game undefeated run with Carlo, the same symptoms are showing. Kroos looks knackered, Modric is doing all the heavy lifting and the front 3 are not getting service. However, that being said, I think we can recover from this once Bale joins the starting 11 and we go to our default 4-3-3 attack and 4-4-2 defend.

I just wrote a massive post on Mad Max in response to wedward and spoiler culture twists and then my page reloaded and it all deleted. Fuck.
Basically I had a discussion with someone where they said nothing happened and it would be really good in ten minute bursts but not as a whole film.
Now it sounds pretentious as fuck but I don't expect everyone to pick up on the fact that everything in that movie works. The economy of its plot works. Every character beat is logistically sound. Every line of dialogue and every shot is functional, reasoned and justified. It moves naturally in terms of character motivation, decision and action. Forget about the incredible action scenes, what makes them work so well is they all have purpose and they serve the story. Not a moment of that film is extraneous to its intentions.
So much of modern media is predicated around the fact that people like to be surprised; it's the what that entices them, not the how and why. And that's a little disappointing, I think. That sounds massively wanky, but in the end it's the reason we all watch Die Hard every Christmas; because the how of the film works so that the generic why doesn't matter.
Who the fuck rewatches the Sixth Sense all the time?

Mad Max is a legit masterpiece
a work of art, and it's an action movie which makes it even more impressive.

I just don't enjoy being spoiled, there is a difference with book adaptions, as you're choosing yourself what medium you're gonna consume first, so it's your own choice. It's also different with each movie, a pretty good example would be Se7en. The build up is and everything is interesting, but those two revelations are just so damn important and knowing them, would ruin the experience.
I think Seven works so much better the second time when you know its coming. The dread that builds as Pitt gets angrier and Spacey just stares dead eyed is genuinely sickening, and the reason that works is because you know what Spacey is about to say.

It's just a magic moment, especially considering how well they have hidden Kevin Spacey up until that point.
That doesn't mean the film is worse on the second watch as you focus on other details as you mentioned, but I wanna enjoy both of them equally without some cunt spoiling it.

What the fuck are you talking about lmao
Even a cursory glance of twitter just told me its on Android first, and I don't even follow this news, it just got retweeted
Watched Popstar : Never Stop Never Stopping again last night. The fact that it bombed on the box office is a tragedy, such a funny movie and it still holds on a second viewing. Can see myself watching it occasionally through out the years.
i watched sev7n the first time fully knowing the twist due to the general nature of the internet
still was enjoyable simply because the characters don't know, do there's a geniune suspense around it

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostI think the funniest movie I've seen in a while was Storks. One of the few genres I'm struggling to find decent movies.
I need more comedies.
Mostly still love alot of old titles, which could be affected by nostalgia though.
Dillinger used to use that speech in the back of the car around the end of seven, "We see a deadly sin on every street corner, in every home, and we tolerate it. We tolerate it because it's common, it's trivial. We tolerate it morning, noon, and night. Well, not anymore. I'm setting the example.". Was so good with me the music starting immediately after that last word.
Fire Emblem is that game where the real strategy is not the fights but marrying people to each other, right? Meh.
I need an Android Advance Wars or something. That would be sweet.

I'd prefer more dramas had a bit of levity in them.
It's Manchester By The Sea was so great.
Can't stand books or movies that don't have a single joke or laugh.
