By n8 dogg Go To PostI don't care about spoilers. Knowing what happens doesn't dilute any enjoyment I have. It's the how, not the what.
For instance (TFA spoilers in case anyone hasn't seen it yet but fuck y'all I ain't spoiler tagging)
Han's death worked really well for me because I knew it was coming, I could focus on Driver's performance, the build up and the aftermath without being like "holy shit Han's dead I am totally distracted"
Like, how do you watch films adapted from books you've read or whatever? Are you incapable of doing so because you know the twists?
I knew about the Red Wedding years before I read it. Still doesn't dilute how well Martin brings the chapters before and after together, how the penny drops, that sick feeling in your throat as shit goes wrong, the culmination of Cat's storyline that got kicked off in GOT. It all really really works, and it works better the second, third, fourth time because you can focus on how well Martin pulls it together, how well Abrams uses lighting and pacing to frame that scene, etcetera.
I can focus on performances on my first watch!
I'll appreciate them even more on my 2nd viewing
surely you must realize that you're in the minority with this though?

Just respect people who care about spoilers. Use the tags. People who dont care like you will read them. People who do, wont.
Very simple innit
I appreciate an adaptation as a piece of work. I appreciate an original film/series as a piece of work, and as an engrossing story. Simple innit.
Knowing a story/beat doesn't kill it, but it definitely dilutes my immersion.

By Xpike Go To PostI don't get spoiler cultureNope, it's different.
Even if you know the plot of something theres still a bunch of other elements in a media, it's why good films can be watched infinitely, games played, etc
Having "it's a sad ending" in the back of your mind while watching it will drastically effect the experience, at least for someone like me or Zabo.
The characters cold be all jolly and happy in the last 10 minutes and you'd just be waiting for what makes it sad.
Saying it's an emotional roller-coaster for example doesn't spoil anything, saying it's a sad ending, does.
By Ciaran Go To PostEASY to get spoiler cultureYou are right
what an incredibly stupid discussion, with all due MAXIMUM respect to all of you.
if you line up GoT's plot twists before watching it you remove the tension entirely
SURE it has nice music and Jamie is hot and they dress well but ultimately most people watch a movie to be engaged and live it moment to moment not go through the motions and wait for whatever you read to happen inevitably. Oh there goes Ned's neck and that betrayal
I still don't know how Nate managed to go through Prisoners knowing full well that the boy was innocent Because for the whole movie I was on the edge of my seat and going through a roller-coaster of emotions. One moment I was siding with Hugh :lol the other I wasn't…. FUCK IT SHOOT HIM IN THE LEG ITS YOUR BABY GIRL WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME! But…what if, WHAT IF….I hope he is then…but…AAAAAH
bear in mind *I* don't mind reading spoilers, playing devil's advocate if you will.
I hope nobody brings up La La Land as an example if you wanna insult me/reply to me, just out of respect for Zabo.

Yeah. And I understand people not wanting to know everything that happens.
But extreme spoilerphobia is ridiculous, like people who get annoyed when they find out actors or characters are cast or something. Finding officially announced news and shit a spoiler, or trailers... absurd.

You are old.
I seriously fucking hate pens like that
If the keeper goes the right way or stays in the middle, he easily saves it. Horrendous contact.

Yeah this is too much indeed.
But what Disso said is a spoiler. A pretty big one imo.
Shouldve been tagged.
