By Jr_Painkiller Go To PostCan I get some recommendations from the Halloween sale? I've got like 5 bucks left. I'm down for shmups, horror, metroidvanias whatever. Nothing too demanding though, I just game on a laptop.
$5 is tight.
Outlast, Amnesia: Dark Descent and Layers of Fear are good for horror. This War of Mine is suspenseful.
Crypt of the Necrodancer is just a fun, low-requirement game.
Ikaruga is a great shump (ported from the GCN). Guns, Gore, and Cannoli is the best SHMUP I've ever played that nobody knows about.
I personally recommend Seraph. It's $6.50 though.

I already have all of those except for Layers of Fear and I dont think my laptop can run it decently
How about the sunless sea? Looks cool but the interface seems intimidating.

I am pleased to hear that you own Guns Gore and Cannoli. That game legitimately surprised me last year. Impressively emulates the style of metal slug. Also glad to know that you own Seraph I put 100 hrs into that game doing the daily and weekly challenges maxing out Talia.
I can't speak directly to sunless sea except for the fact that I own it. It's another backlog game. Undertale is another low-cost, low spec game that you probably already own.
A game that deserves more recognition is Wolcen: Lords of Destruction. It's a ARPG made in Cryengine so the game has beautiful graphics and effects. So far it's only in alpha/early access it was very stable when I played through the available content. If you have an interest in the ARPG genre I think Wolcen is a game you have to try out. I only hope they'll release the game soon 😅
I tend to steer away from Early Access games, but I'll keep an eye on Wolcen. Steam reviews are mixed right now....
