Larger pool of people for professionals to be pulled from with men, means that on top of actual physiological advantages, the group that becomes professional will have to have been even more skilled because competition to get there is tougher. There's also more money going into coaching them as its a more lucrative industry.
It'd be wrong to discount female pro athletes in terms of how they compare to the general population, but when it comes to the very top levels of professional sports, men perform at a higher tier. I personally think it'd be shitty to be a woman who is at the very top of your game and still not be able to beat a top 50 from the men's side - like the Williams sisters, who couldn't beat a guy ranked I think #205 in men's tennis. Life ain't fair, though.

We don't know what the limits of men or women are in sports.
But women have faced a lot of discouragement and oppression in sports. And have still broken many men's records. And have proven wrong, what many people think that women were capable of.
I think that what we should do, is continue supporting women's sports.
