By blackace Go To Postpeople would have to care about Portland before they can hate themPlenty of people still salty about Dame in .9 sec.
By blackace Go To PostAgreed! Even I don't think DMC deserves to get raked in the eye.Naw they never trusted me with the account while I was there.
also from that tweet I learned that Reilo runs the Blazers twitter account

By Puddles Go To Post19 point lead and we blow it to the fucking Bobcats. This team is unbelievable.
By etiolation Go To PostHis passing game has really come along. Was mostly a rim runner, hustle guy during his Forever days. That's not true. His passing was one of the traits I loved the most. He would throw lobs to Shaun Livingston all night long.
Reilo wasn't hearing it back then tho lmao.
By reilo Go To PostHere's the play:
By vic Go To PostUh huh. When we're playing yall again?
Next Tuesday o.o
By IWMTB19 Go To PostIt's 0-0 three minutes into this Jazz-Warriors game and now we have taken a timeout.
Jazz basketball.
I laughed out loud. Was it really 0-0 three minutes into the game and a coach called a timeout??? LOL!!!!
Also, I was F5 on ESPN last night and every refresh had something to say about the Rockets...but the Spurs ended up winning. Lol (not nearly as funny as the Jazz tho)
Why hasn't Boston sent Brooklyn's pick to Philly for Nerlens yet?
That seems fair all around, unless Boston truly thinks it can somehow land Boogie....I think Noel is probably the better fit in BOS anyway.

Because the player netted from that pick could be better than Noel.

The timeout involved one of the starters running to the restroom because he had the shits.
By diehard Go To PostWelp, back to pessimist mode for me.
DMC gonna drop 38 and 15 and beat us at home.
He just played 41 minutes. I expect him to come out cold today.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostBecause the player netted from that pick could be better than Noel.given Bostons drafting history... not likely.
By giririsss Go To Postgiven Bostons drafting history… not likely.I don't think Ainge has drafted well in a while, but he also didn't want his picks this year. Jaylen Brown might not be good, but the early returns on that entire draft class are poor and there's nobody that went after 3 that is clearly better than Brown. So I'm willing to give him something of a pass for 2016.
Next year's draft is going to be really good, though, so I don't know that I'd trade the Brooklyn pick.

At this point, i'm not trusting them to get any return even in a stacked draft.
They're much better of trading it for a known entity.
Rodney Hood still has the shits and is out tonight, Exum is out with a knee injury.
Sure, fine, (fuck).

I kind of agree with Embiid that it makes more sense to trade Okafor, but that depends on if Jahil can ever become a PF. He has forward skills, so I'm not sure what's keeping him at center? Is it just foot speed?

Jahlil cannot shoot or move.
These are like two of the most important things for a PF.
By reilo Go To PostQuestion is can you get a Nerlens level player outside the lottery range?I haven't dug that deep into the draft yet, I just know about the top handful of prospects. God willing, the Wolves right this ship and I don't have to.
But Noel is an interesting case because he's also going to be an RFA and if you're trading for him, do you want to be the team giving him $70-80M? (Just guessing. I think he's a better player than Gorgui Dieng and G just got $64M.). I like Noel. He's an awesome rim protector and his offense is getting better, but I think there should be concerns about things like his injury history, his attitude.

Noel cost too much money to keep around for a one year rental.

Too early call the returns on the Nets pick. We just started reaping the benefits
Noel doesn't have a reliable shot either, but he certainly has the speed. His injury concerns are the biggest issue. I don't have a problem with anyone being upset at the Philly situation.
If you can pass out of the high post then it can make up for an iffy shooting stroke. This is how Plumlee and Noah (used to) work.

Randle has one.

By reilo Go To PostQuestion is can you get a Nerlens level player outside the lottery range?
I mean, do we even know what his level really is? There are mitigating circumstances because of the situation, but this is still a guy who can't seem to play C and who's not getting on the floor for the worst team in the league. There are really talented defensive bigs who get picked outside of the lottery every year - although it's because teams are often really bad at projecting defenders in the draft.
By Forever Go To PostIs Nerlens really a known entity? He's got a lot of issues that we don't know will go away on a different team.Double double guy that plays elite defense. Injury history is the concern with him.
He's also only 22 and has been stuck in the most dysfunctional situation you can think of surrounded by the worst guards in the league. He didn't draft eight big men to compete with his spot.
Noel had us with a top 10 defense by himself. Go look at the "guards" from his rookie year. He is worth the money. He's not great offensively unless you have a PG who can get into the paint and set up lobs. His best asset is in the passing lanes and he has a gift to just mess shit up there (although it often leaves him out of position at times). His hands are ass tho and he will get ragdolled by big bodies...so there is that.
Ideally he and Embiid would be a neat paring in stretches. As Noel would be able to freelance more with Embiid covering the paint and offensively Embiid's newfound range could help the spacing problems...but then Simmons comes back and messes that up. Noel is going to have to be ok with being a backup supersub...which he probably won't be.
so basically we are fucked

If you're trading for Noel, you're getting him as a supreme complimentary player ala Draymond (their skill sets are quite apart, so not comparing their basketball ability, just their value), but you need the star pieces to make it work. His value is higher if he's not the focus of your team.
knux really got yal biting on the whole 'noel made philly a top 10 defense' bit lol

On, the second one, right? The first one was 2014, James Young. And ... Bust.
Since they've had Nets picks, they've drafted (first round)
[2014] Marcus Smart (6th, Own pick)
[2014] James Young (17th, Nets pick)
[2015] Terry Rozier (16th, Own)
[2015] R.J. Hunter (28th, Clippers)
[2016] Jaylen Brown(3rd, Nets)
[2016] Guerschon Yabusele (16th, Dallas)
[2016] Ante Zizic (23rd, Own)
Outside Smart, that's a big list of "who da fuk"'s.
They're pretty bad at drafting. Which is ok, because Ainge is great at trades.
But ... If i'm a Celtics fan... i don't want to be fronting up to a draft with more than my own pick. Trade them and get MUCH better value.
By etiolation Go To PostIf they are drafting for trade assets, I still don't understand why they passed over Dunn. They're just bad at drafting. That's all.
Some of its bad luck. The draft is always part luck.
But the C's are worse than most.

Many are able to be traded now. Mostly the players signed in the first week of FA. Those that had elongated RFA negotiations will be up for trader later on. Some of those won't be tradeable until next month.

There's also a weird rule that if a team matches another team's offer to their own RFA, they cannot trade that player for one year without the player's approval.
By blackace Go To PostNice… I wonder if some teams are going to be out there..I think Noel is the hottest trade bait on the market. I really don't expect him to be t the 76'ers by end of the trade period.
But there are teams that will be out there looking for sure. Lots of them. So many with "obvious" weaknesses. Like Portlan.
I've been expecting a Afflalo for Jeff Green trade. Two cases of buyer's remorse sending the player back to someone/somewhere they played before.
Philly could use a good cornerstone vet guy. Just not sure if there are any in the league that match their asking price for Noel AND would be willing to sit in Philly being a babysitter for 2-4 years.
