By Tea Go To PostThe argument doesn't really matter. Ticket sales and attendance will take a hit. That's reality.
The kicker is. .. for the Cavs, what do they care if they're playing BKN in BKN and rest LBJ? They don't get those ticket sales, that's all BKN.
And like you saw with Miami, i'd be surprised if the Cavs haven't sold out all their home games (or at 90%). So...
You're right, generally it aint great for the fan that gets screwed over for that game.
But it's arguably better for the league to have their great players playing in the play offs, and close to 100%, than hobbled and bowing out in the first round.
And also, arguably, keeps the player playing in more games, rather than getting injured and missing 30 games, or an entire month.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostWestbrook's USG% is three points higher than 2006 Kobe as of now.I was looking at his USG% just yesterday like 😲😲😲😲😲
He's going to shatter the all-time single season record.
By Moris Go To PostDMC got fined 50K by Sacramento for being an asshole.
But the paper talked about something that actually happened tho! How dare they?
By blackace Go To PostBut the paper talked about something that actually happened tho! How dare they?Clearly the Kings as an organization are unprofessional and biased against DMC.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostI don't mind rest, but there needs to be more foresight and communication with the fans about them so they can be informed. Rest days shouldn't be happening so often that you shouldn't be able to make them known with a few days notice.
A few days notice isn't really going to help. Don't most people buy tickets weeks ahead? I know I do. Luckily Charlotte is relevant and good enough to where I don't have to worry about teams resting here.
most of the times when stars sit game it's usually against dogwater teams who don't sell out games anyways so I dont think it matters.
By p s y Go To Postmost of the times when stars sit game it's usually against dogwater teams who don't sell out games anyways so I dont think it matters.Unless the team is coached by Pop
By p s y Go To Postmost of the times when stars sit game it's usually against dogwater teams who don't sell out games anyways so I dont think it matters. Those are also the cheapest tickets available, which means the fans that can't afford to go most nights would like to see Lebron play the most that night because it's a rare time they actually can.

Not sure if it's a real word. But in context it made perfect sense.
Have a player sit a few games has a good chance of him playing more games at a higher level due to not being injured. Guys really shouldn't be playing more than 3 games a week.
By p s y Go To Postmost of the times when stars sit game it's usually against dogwater teams who don't sell out games anyways so I dont think it matters. The smart play for coaches is to rest their guys against good teams and play them against the bad ones to guarantee as many wins as possible.

I understand what you are saying.. but you are basically making Ls for yourself doing that because if you are a good team fighting for seeding in the playoffs you don't give away games you can win.
That need to get rid of the preseaon or start it earlier and get rid of b2b from normal scheduling..
There are precious few teams that are bad enough for you to rest your stars and feel comfortable winning easily against. Most bad teams are dangerous enough to play a starless good team evenly.
They already removed some of the preseason games in the new cba so they can start the season a week earlier and remove more b2b.

Evenly is a better chance than trying to play the Cavs without your stars..
By blackace Go To PostEvenly is a better chance than trying to play the Cavs without your stars..It's punting a game for a nearly guaranteed win instead of playing two 50/50 (at best) games.

By blackace Go To PostI would rather have my bench get wins than be left for dead..Nah, Kibners rationale is correct in terms of capitalizing on the most "sure" wins. Which should get you the most wins possible.
It has a drawback in that, in any circumstance of tiebreakers, you'll have a higher chance of having sat one of those games, and be worse off.

By Moris Go To PostNerlens Noel for Clarkson or Randle, not both.Yes yes!
The journey to the Knicks side is almost complete
Noel is really getting a DNP-CD as they face the Pelicans so they can play Okafor and Embiid 30min+ each? Even Ilyasova is getting playing time. Damn
