On Wednesday, the Lakers could be down as many as five players who combine for 47.6 points, 19.0 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game.

I don't understand what's going on with Montejunas, isn't dude lucky to be paid what he already is considering some other teams been all "nope" after his injury inspections or whatever they're called. He's holding out for more? Or what's he even doing.

11 Heat players have already combined to miss 77 games due to injuries this season. Add James Johnson to the list:

It really blows that we can't even see our young core play together because they are all injured. While I didn't expect to be as competitive as we are (were) this season it still kind of hurts to see the potential for ~16 games and be left with a skeleton of the team a month into the season.
Ingram started in that game i literally don't remember him doing anything. I think i saw him go to the line once?
By Puddles Go To PostCompletely healthy Jazz vs completely healthy Lakers, 7 game series?fuck outta here Jazz with their own injuries are top 8 in Ortg and Drtg... We haven't even seen a completely healthly Jazz this year...
Lakers in 6.

He has a ways to go and definitely needs to add weight. Like a lot of weight. He looks so slight out there.

He's not very aggressive and has not been shooting well. They've had to play him at PG in hopes it would force him to get involved. I'm not totally concerned cause he's 19, but ....

I just realized Bobby Brown, who wasn't playing anyway, got cut for DMo to come back..... :( dude is out of a job for nothing

Which.... I mean. I want to say, logically he shouldn't be able to. But who knows.
Or his agent is a lying asshole telling him he has side offers from other teams who WILL offer more and this is a way to try and tell the other teams "i'm willing to risk a contract over a physical, if you offer me a contract, it's with out getting a physical".
By blackace Go To PostMaybe he wasn't happy in Houston?I think that's the obvious one, since they attempted to trade him to Detroit but the trade got rescinded when he failed his physical. They probably hoped Houston wouldn't match.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostSpo is better at his job than Phil is right now though. That's true but I kinda doubt they know each other that well
By WWCHGT Go To PostPhil Jackson Is Spo's Uncle in law on his father's side.So you're saying they tight?
By Kabro Go To PostTarik Black is out. Sprained Ankle. At one point last season, the Pels were down enough players that would combine for over 95 points, iirc.

Motiejunas said Friday that he would have no issues with returning despite the long impasse in contract negotiations.
"Whichever team I go to, I'm going to give my heart to," Motiejunas said. "I'm going to put in the work and defend that team. I'm going to do my job."
Whole thing's a shitshow. I feel conflicted about it. On the one hand, we wouldn't have gotten the 2-seed a couple of seasons ago if he hadn't played so well. When Dwight came back, DMo developed his outside shot so they could co-exist, even though he was the better player in the post. On the other, this relationship has obviously soured. A failed trade, limited minutes, being undervalued relative to his potential and now this no-show.
I appreciate what he did for us in the past, but if he doesn't want to be here, I don't want him to be here. Chemistry's in a good spot now (touch wood) after the disaster of last season, and I want to see minutes being put into Capela, Dekker and Harrell. I'd rather this season be about development than treadmilling with a guy who may or may not get back to his best.
By RobNBanks Go To Postreminds me of royce whiteNah. That's another shit show entirely.
He was the one with the mental issues around flying, yeah?
The stuff Royce was asking for were illegal. Literally, Houston could not comply with it. He wanted them to alter un-alterable sections of the CBA contracts.
And refused to play until they did said illegal things.

i didnt mean the issues, i meant more how poorly the whole situation was and the rockets being involved in both situations

Eh, the line for the knicks winning I hear for this game was crazy earlier today which made me assume of course the knicks were going to lose
By blackace Go To Postwell he was mentally ill… seems like they didn't interview him well enough to meIn the end, The royce white thing wasn't Houstons fault. They bent over backwards. His handlers/ advisors / himself was.
Did Houston "create" the problem by drafting him? Maybe. But that feels like a massive over simplification.
