By blackace Go To PostIn pro sports it doesn't matter as much… like if you are winner by 40 in the 4th and keep your starters in you are kind of a dick and moron.
i agree with the moron part as you gain nothing and could lose a lot by getting injured. i don't agree with the 'dick' part. as a competitor i would feel hugely insulted if a team stops trying to score on me.

Yeah.. high school is one of things.. growing up in America and living here in Japan (in JHS at least) it's considered to be a poor showing to totally crush the other team. I can understand the idea of a competitor.. but is a 13 year that is the question teachers try to gauge

Also is ATL over Dwight yet
Lost 11 of last 12
seems to be the least of their problems judging by stats
Schroeder didn't make the leap that I think they assumed he would and millsap has been hurt/not as good
they probably trade him at the deadline--which would leave them in rebuild territory...and you know Dwight aint having that
They might have to go full firesale soon
Well, at least the Pels aren't in that area of having a bad defense and bad offense. I'll take what I can get at this point.
By blackace Go To Postonly by you.
Completely healthy Jazz vs completely healthy Lakers, 7 game series?
Lakers in 6.
LA needs to address their bad defense. I don't think Nance+Randle works long term and even after Randle's improvement I still lean towards Nance.
Tarik is a nice back-up but he's undersized, Mozgov is just subpar and likely to get worse fast.

Sounds like Rox can reschedule or let him re-enter RFA and he won't be able to sign with Brooklyn for 1 year.
I understand being upset about the trade but this idiot could have taken the qualifying offer and became a unrestricted next year. Instead he'll get nothing this year and cont to be restricted.
By reilo Go To PostWhat was the trade?
He got traded to the pistons last year and they rescinded it after a physical revealed issues in his back.
Do screwed himself by not just taking the initial qualifying offer for a year. He FAILED his Detroit physical. Needs to fire his agent.
The Rockets own his rights. He can't do anything. He screwed himself.

Otto Porter has begun living up to his billing as the third overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft this season, averaging 14.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.0 steals in 34.7 minutes per game. Porter also has a career high PER of 19.4.
Porter will be a restricted free agent this offseason, which will give the Washington Wizards matching rights.
Two front office executives recently predicted Porter will receive a max contract in free agency.

Lakers in 6.
Unless they involve Kobe , Phil Jackson, or the triangle.
By reilo Go To PostWhy would Wilt shoot a three when he can just dunk on 6'2 white dudes all game?

at this rate anyone besides tanking teams will be paying the tax--the nba economy is getting out of control
Not sure if it was posted, but apparently Klay had the ball in his hands for 88.4 seconds... to score 60 points. That's insane.
He also only dribbled the ball 11 times. Holy shit.

never thought lebron could get in the MJ conversation but if he keeps beating these god tier Warrior squads then i dunno

Because if there's one thing the Lakers would never do, it's overpay in the offseason.

Honestly, after Stoudamire, Carter and Bosh, paying DeRozan was worth it just to not have another star leave. Same goes for Lowry this offseason. Next game DeRozan will hit #1 on the all time list of games played in a Raptor uniform, and he's around 200 points away from #1 on the all time franchise scoring list.
And people who don't follow the team keep doubting him and expecting him to fall off every year, but honestly the guy never stops working, and improves something every season - like, even if his scoring drops, this season you can already tell his passing has gotten way better. His attitude & work ethic have been the backbone of the team's culture change the past few years, Lowry would probably still be an uncoachable hothead without him. Honestly, he's worth keeping around for so many reasons beyond whether his PER matches up with the next guy making the same money at the end of the season. Without him the Raptors could so easily be Minnesota or Orlando right now.
What was the Raptors alternative besides paying Derozan? Anyone? Start over and hope they draft a superstar? Trade Derozan for a first round pick or another established player and hope he fits better?

He's a great 'little things' player, he knows angles on defense and uses his athleticism on both ends. He doesn't need plays ran for him to score, he doesn't demand touches and he makes plays happen on defense.
He's no future all star but unlike Randle, if he isn't scoring he still helps your team.

surely there's a GM worth his salt willing to take on that idiotic contract.

That awful Lakers starting lineup of:
Ingram
MWP
Deng
Randle
Mozgov
Which was four power forwards, a center, and zero people that could dribble got scored by 26 points in the 12 minutes that lineup played.
Uhh, thanks for the W, Coach Walton.
