By diehard Go To Posthow the fuck are we getting more injuredI have asked myself this question every day for four years.
By diehard Go To PostLook at this shit. WHAT HAPPENEDA couple years ago, the Blazers went a full 82 games missing only like five games total among all their starters. Meanwhile, every one of the starters on the Pels missed like twenty games each minimum.
*snip*
By Kibner Go To PostA couple years ago, the Blazers went a full 82 games missing only like five games total among all their starters.Biggest fluke in modern Blazers history ever.
Raptors are the only team in the league that hasn't taken a double-digit loss.

They played Indy in the first round last year. You're thinking of Miami, the team the Raps beat in the next round despite having Valanciunas out. (Yeah, I know Whiteside went out right after - so it's a wash, right?)
And seriously, how did every single person who follows basketball outside of Canada forget that they finished one game behind the Cavs last year? And were competitive against every elite team during the season? They were supposed to be there. But every commentator coming into this year was like "I don't know about those Raptors. They don't seem like anything special."
Like, I get it, there's no first team superstar there, but they have two Team USA / all stars in the backcourt, it's not like they're a bunch of nobodies.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostPoor mans nash suns east
No, those guys could pass.
Raptors are hyper-McMillan Blazers when they were healthy. Slow pace, high offensive efficiency, mediocre-to-bad defense despite the fact that they have the athletes to play good D.

That's not a terrible comparison, though their D was fine last season - 11th in the league in Drtg. Casey is pissed at their D this year & has them watching "gruelling" video sessions after every game as
By reilo Go To PostBlazers ranked 13th in DRtg the season they won 54, so, yea, 11th isn't too far off.
Well okay, then that's more on the side of mediocre-to-good.
BTW, as of today Knicks are tied for the 7th seed, and a 1st round matchup with Toronto. Maybe I should start rooting for them to win more. They're not making the playoffs.
By giririsss Go To PostSuns are 3.5 games out of 8th.
Sixers are only 5 games back. There's still time!

Am I nuts to think Mark Jackson would turn this Timberwolves team around immediately?
I do have a migraine going right now.

Because you're not coming out of the East and nobody that isn't a Raps fan is even entertaining the idea. Yeah this the best team yall have ever had. But the circumstances render yall as a footnote. The only interesting thing about the Raps this season is seeing if they trip over themselves and lose to a non-Cavs team.

Jackson was the right coach at that time to get them to believe in themselves and buy in to playing defense They didn't need an Xs and Os coach. Could be a similar situation in Minny.

So we're going to forget that his goto play was posting Klay up. Like 5 times a game?
Mark Jackson was bad. He held the team back a lot. That doesn't mean everything he did was bad. But he WAS bad.

Barnes, not Klay.

He was a bad coach but a great motivator for the young players and changed the culture of the team. He won't get you to 60 wins and a title, but he got them into the playoffs after winning 23 games the year before, and won a series. That sounds exactly like what the Wolves need.
Mark Jackson didn't have a system, but if he got the right bench coaches he could be a decent coach.. Too bad you can't really say that about him as a human being.
He basically turned GS around, Kerr wouldn't have had the instant success he had if Mark didn't lay the groundwork..

Well, no...nobody lives in a world where the only good teams are the two that make the finals - unless you think the Spurs aren't anything special, because they're not getting there either. I'm talking about people going into the season talking about the Raps like they weren't even going to be a home court team or something. Journalists are all bandwagon riders so they'd changed their tunes by like week 2, but it's weird. People still talking like the team with the 4th best record in the league making the conference finals was an accident.
