Benfica just lost with Maritimo 2-1, their first league defeat. Things can get really interesting tomorrow if Sporting wins as they will be behind Benfica by 2 points and they will play each other next week.
Those 2 losses have left Newcastle 3 points above 3rd if their opponents' games in hand go against them. The first loss is just really stupid, the second potentially disastrous with Shelvey out for 3 games. Possibly longer if that racism charge goes all the way.
