It was supposed to be a Manchester one-two they said.
"Pep will get found out"
"Mourinho just had a blip at Chelsea last season"

We should go for DeGea after the transfer ban. Keylor should have saved the last two goals from Legia. He has a weakness against long range shots.
Why can't Mourinho motivate these players? Or get them to work for him?
He just got here. How has he already lost them?

By Willkiller Go To PostSeen a lot of "look at those players, this isn't on Mou" tonight. The revisionist history has begun, everyone looked at their squad before the start of the season and said they had to be challenging for the title….Yet you see the players have no desire. The players not pressing, not being able to make simple passes and constantly giving posession away. Not sure how much of that you can put on Mou. That has to come from the players.
Mou needs to realise the players that will work for him and give 100%. THose that don't should be shown the door. Look at what klopp did. He has a team that will give everything and got rid of those that don't do it for him. Look how he's handling Sturridge for example.
It's that time again lads. Guess her age.

By Francis Go To PostI thought she was 45. Legit shook.I guessed over 40 from the first image as well. She looks younger in the second but wow, never would have guessed her actual age.
Anyone else find PaddyPower slightly racist, or at best xenophobic?

He lost his mystique.
Simple.
By Wedward Go To PostMaybe this is what happens when you give average players huge wages.Fergie knew. He was a master of getting the most out of average plaurrs

because they do have to be challenging for the title. the players have to hold up their end. they have not for 3 successive managers.
a manager can't make players make off the ball runs or show for the ball. that's just something you do since youre a kid. and we don't do that at all.

But the players have changed over the past 3 managers. Even players just recently bought are not performing.

Idk. I see people just placing all the blame on Rooney, Rojo and Fellaini.
United fans seem to like Zlatan, Mata, Martial, Morgan, Herrera, Shaw, Smalling, Darmian, Pogba, Rashford, DeGea, Bailly, Blind.
I mean of those players listed, which ones do you thing are not working hard enough?
Moyes is a shit manager and LVG is far past his prime so I would expect they wouldn't get as much respect. You would think Mou would be able to motivate these players. That is what he is known for. If he can't you guys need to take a serious look at recruitment.
Mourinho "[It was like] they were playing a Champions League final and we were playing a summer friendly."
That was shocking to watch, quite honestly.
United just looked like they didn't care.

By Wedward Go To PostBut the players have changed over the past 3 managers. Even players just recently bought are not performing. Not everybody hits the ground running though. Bailey has played well, Pogba and Zlatan struggling to adapt. Micky not even had a chance to play.
Think he had overestimated how good some of the other players are.
Needs to be given another year+ to really build his team. He will realise which players he can trust.
By Wedward Go To PostBut the players have changed over the past 3 managers. Even players just recently bought are not performing. But we've got two seasons worth of LVG players. Not Mourinho's. It's only until next season can you fully judge the manager when he has a squad he's happy with and bought in every department that needs changing, not just a few.
It's not often a player performs to his natural standard when you first buy them as well, the transition period and the fact their playing in the PL comes in to play.
We are arse. No motivation in any of our players whatsoever. Herrera the only one who looks like he gives a shit every week.

Look, as much as I think Mou doesn't deserve a lot of the blame because our squad is full of spineless roaches, look at what Conte and Pep are doing in their first season. Or Poch and Koeman at Saints.
Can't keep saying he needs time to bed it all in. What he needs to do is find an XI he can trust to give their all on the field. I don't really care that we lost tonight; two wonder goals at a tough home ground vs a defensive side with a host of injuries. Whatever. What I do care about is the lack of effort they put in.
Herrera, like I said, the only one pushing us forward all the time. Valencia, Bailly and Rashford fine too, maybe Mata. A lot of the others don't have or are not showcasing the right attitude.

More like a bunch of players that have been thrown together and been told to play football for 90 mins. I guess it's on Mou to pick his team and stick with it rather than changing it week in week out but until we have a squad and an 11 that looks like an actual team, nothings going to change.
By Killer7 Go To PostGive Pep, Klopp and Conte this team and they'd also struggle.
Well, maybe. But we still spent eight trillion quid in the summer. If the squad isn't good enough, then whoever is in charge of recruitment - Woodward before, Mou this year - is to blame.
By Killer7 Go To PostGive Pep, Klopp and Conte this team and they'd also struggle.
I think they would all be doing better than Mou.
I think they are all better managers than him though.
Starting to think that Mourinho would have had an easier time if he'd come in mid-season
Klopp got the majority of a season to sort out the players' attitudes and figure out which players were, weren't and could be good enough. All we needed was a couple of cup runs and an upturn in effort and nice attacking football, and it was good enough. The results in the league were no better, but they were essentially shrugged off.
Plus it obviously meant there wasn't an expectancy for him to spend, even if he'd have liked to

Five consecutive losses in Europe for the first time in United's history.

Jose not holding back in press conference. Says he passed all his knowledge and experience on to the players but they let him down.
How long until he calls them rats?

:(. Still, I'm glad we got 1 point against Zorya. 45 minutes with 10 men was not fun to watch.
Jose on Mkhitaryan: "He has to do more. It's as simple as that. We have big expectations. We have lots of players for that position."
Mourinho is savaging the players in the post-match comments.
Rightly so, in my opinion, but wonder if they will turn on him like Chelsea/Madrid.
