this is what I always feared, that the players let the fans and their nonsense get to them.
you think Arsenal, United etc are afflicted with Romavitis too?
Former Roma and Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic has compared fans of the two sides, complaining that the pressure in Rome 'wears you down'.
The 33-year-old also compared the differing attitudes to victory and defeat in the two cities, declaring 'drawing is not enough' in Turin.
"It's different approach. The fact is that when Juventus draw it is perceived as a loss. You feel it, drawing is not enough.
"Winning helps, as every victory helps you to get the next one. It is good for you mentally, you feel stronger.
"Fans in Rome are not like this, it’s enough that you do well for a couple of games and it puts you high up in the table, but then as soon as you do something bad you begin to feel that the support for the team isn’t there.
"And that wears you down in the long run.
"In Turin you can safely walk down the street without being bothered by anyone: there are no dedicated radio stations, or at least there are not as many as in Rome.
"Juventus are stronger outside Turin. There is a different focus."
When asked about the city radio stations that are dedicated to football, the Montenegrin admitted their opinions 'put pressure' on players.
"Of course, we feel it. The radio puts pressure on us, we all feel it. I remember that sometimes between us were made jokes, such as ‘I heard that he said this, I've heard that one, but the other one says otherwise.’
"Everyone listened to it, even if it was only during training. It is inevitable.
"It doesn’t help you that Roma haven’t won the league for a long time. When we were fighting for the title, we started to feel the strain even in less important games.
"In those instances you can always feel the pressure on your neck, it bites you."

Didn't realise Ings actually has a history of knee problems. Did his knee twice at Burnley as well.
4 serious knee injuries and he's only 24.

Juve fratelli,
I am happy with Pjanic being pushed further up the pitch, it is pretty much the role he played at Roma.
I feel like with Marchisio back it should link the attack and midfield better. The players we have asked to fill the Pirlo/Marchisio role have no experience there. I guess you can say Marchisio didn't have prior experience, but he some players just adapt better to new positions than others.
I feel like that Allegri has become too entrenched in the 3-5-2, if Marchisio is not healthy then it really doesn't suit the players available. Sadly, I don't think there are too many players in the world who can play that role, including Verratti. Allegri only deviates from the 3-5-2 when defensive injuries call for a back four.
I think I recently posted that I think a 3-4-1-2/3-4-3 would work best if Verratti added. A double pivot of Marchisio/Sami would work nicely, then if Verratti came he would fit in easily and perform the role he has always been best at IMO when playing alongside Motta at PSG, and when he briefly played with Pirlo for Italy.

Don't feel too bad for Danny Ings. 2 years getting paid without having to work because of a non-disabilitating injury. He is living the Liverpudlian dream.

I still feel bad for him, sure the money is nice, but if you spent your whole life working towards something and then had it taken away from you...well luckily I have never experienced that. I am sure it wouldn't feel great.

Not to mention the constant, daily pain.
I did my elbow once, was fucked up for almost a year. Off course I don't have fancy footballer treatments.
Tickets for The Weeknd and Radiohead are releasing on friday here. I don't listen to Radiohead that much, although I like some of the songs I've heard so will try to get tickets to both acts.

Shanks we were really really terrible playing with back four this season. Even though it makes a bit more sense given how injury prone our defenders are
Fuuuuck Ings. Poor lad. Did it on his first senior appearance back as well. Would be nice to see him come back from it but he's probably done at Liverpool now.

Yeah, I don't think the back four is all that great with the current squad, but can keep a back 3 and change the midfield and attacking options
Reports have emerged of trouble between Napoli and Besiktas fans on Tuesday night, with one supporter stabbed in the buttocks.
A scuffle also broke out at Rome’s Fiumicino airport this morning as returning Napoli fans clashed with Roma supporters who were waiting to catch a flight to Vienna.
RIP Danny Welbeck Ings.
Hopefully this whole tax issue doesnt affect Sanchez on the pitch.

Ings is still pretty young.I don't know how it is in England, but starting with week 7 during an injury a player will not get paid by the employer and instead by the employers liability insurance association, which is FAR from being anywhere close to the usual wages.

what is the point in excluding a player?
talk about a zero-sum approach, not against getting rid, but it just poisons the dressing room for no good reason.

He's taking 21 players and Memphis didn't make the cut. You can't take everyone for the sheer fuck of it. Would you rather he leave Mkhi instead?
Some of you lads worried about playing in Turkey:
Fenerbahce never has that same advantage playing at home that teams usually have. It'll be like playing an away fixture for them.
Plus they're shit right now. Muntiho could take Steak and Kidney Depay and play him as your lone striker and you'd still win 2 - 0.

Uh oh, Martin Samuel's going to see Lingard and other non-whites smiling in a photo and be forced to publish another racism.
i'm also pretty fucking miffed how Enes Unal keeps missing out on a national team start despite being pretty fucking good for his age and having no actual real strikers outside of him.

It just won't be a scholastic 4-X-X, but rather a 3/4-men hybrid. As long as we have Bonucci (and Sandro / Alves / Cuadrado), we'll never let the 3-men defense idea die, and frankly we'd be crazy to. Playing as the central defender / defensive regista, whose forte isn't marking as much as it is the ability to read defensive situations and anticipate the opposition + that vision and sensational passing ability, is what Bonny was born for.
