Brehs, anything interesting happen on the board the past few months? Between working full time and grad school full time, I haven't been able to check in as much as I wanted too. With the NBA season in full swing, I hope to be around more.\
As an aside, I went to the home opener last night. As part of a promo packet, I got to sit "courtside" during player warm ups. Seeing Anthony Davis that close, its almost like the dude isn't even a human being. Aside from the great play of the Spurs bench, the thing that got the crowd the most hype was the Tim Duncan HEB commercial.

By unknown Go To PostDidn't get to see knicks/memphis last night, how did the team look? They looked like a championship calibre team /s
Honestly, they've almost choked the game more than once, but they're way more watchable than usual.

What in the actual fuck. Said it a million times, he's the best non PG passer ever and probably in the 95th percentile as far as Pg's

They're running some triangle principles. Using Noah as a playmaker at the pinch post a a lot. But it's still a whole hell of a lot of your turn my turn type shit. And when they get the ball to Melo isolated in the post there's like no movement or cutting or screening going on to occupy the defense/find an open shot.
Noah and Porzingis are gonna be a defensive force around the rim just like Porzingis and RoLo were, but O quinn can't guard a chair and LT and Jennings aren't looking good which doesn't bode well for your bench long term.
Other than the Nets, they don't really have any really easy games until pretty much December so they're gonna have to do well out of the gate with a barely functioning offense system.
apparently cody zeller is looking at 4/60 OR nothing at all. weird contract situation imo
By MyBackIsBroken Go To PostWiggins doesn't really do much outside of scoring on offense.those tmac comparisons coming out of college. man i tell ya
By KingGondo Go To PostIbaka will be making a lot more than Vic and has a lot less room to grow.I.....disagree. They both are what they are.
Ibaka is a big that plays defense and can make jumpshots and nothing else.
Oladipo is an inefficient, atheltic wing that can't shoot but can defend.
Which makes more sense paired w/ YNB?

I think it goes back to Wiggins just never being all that engaged in basketball to begin with
or worse, he is - he just has negative comprehension of what offense is.
edit: that makes no sense. so rubio is gonna pass FOR someone else?

It's a weird way to make a point, but I think he's saying they need Rubio to make plays for other people because clearly Wiggins can't
Wiggins is limited. But his ridiculous athleticism guarantees him a high free throw rate. He literally only needs to become a good 3 pt shooter to be an all-star caliber player.

low key
Boris Diaw has looked very washed to start this season, but Iso Joe somehow still has something left.
So, overall, that's okay.
Jabari is a 0 defensively and can't shoot to save his life though.
We'll see if he ever develops in those areas.

I think its a little too early to completely cut out the bench long term. It looks like Hornecek is still experimenting with lineups that mix the bench and starters. Which I think could help ease that issue long term. The bench is more or less a bunch of rookies, LT, and Jennings. You need some veteran scorers to make it work
You're right about the my turn/your turn. stuff but Noah as a distributor definitely helped ease that a little. The biggest thing I noticed was how vulnerable they were to the 3 ball (again). I know Gasol shooting 3's is not something you game plan for..... but vince doing them should be.
With that said Rose did look good later in the game

jabari not shooting is sus as fuck because he had a smooth stroke at duke
he shot 3 threes a game at 36% as a freshman, a decent amountoff the bounce, and 75% FT% on high free throw attempts--that's not the marking of a bad shooter.
I blame Kidd for some kind of fukkery

if mcw starts balling in chicago mannnnnnnnnnnn
Favors' legs are dead right now, going to take a bit for him to be back to his normal self.
Diaw is looking exceptionally washed right now and that's not good :(
Well, it is probably good for Jeff Withey getting back into the rotation eventually.

Blake Griffin in college had that happen too.
It's weird when knee surgeries make a player more explosive but I guess it happens sometimes.

Which is where it would come from.
Parents can't even bring their kids to midday games without some nightmare fuel happening because of those grotesque new mascots.

These guys had serious injuries that wouldn't have allowed them put real work into their legs for more than a few months though. Hardly enough time to make huge gains in squats or other lower leg workouts that build explosiveness. Shits strange.
I know I made fun of Frazier--but I do see a lot I like actually. Some of his decision making is dumb...but the way he moves shows real potential
