I bet that was his favorite part.
2 months without Conley is rough, may be the difference between making or missing the playoffs.
Tough fucking injury.

So, that's an awful injury to Conley, I feel terrible for the guy. But the Grizzlies' next game is @ Toronto...a dark part of my soul says "sweet!"

Conley news sucks.
I figure the Grizz will try to hang around, but if they fall off too far then it might cause a change.
I've never heard/seen that injury before, so I don't know what the recovery will be like either. Don't know how quickly he'll be 100% for any playoff push and that team seriously needs him to work.

By masud Go To PostRumor is that the Knicks are gonna resign Rose…
#freeKP
I mean, that's always been on the table anyway, its not like they traded for him just to get an expiring - there were cheaper ways to do that. With his injury history it's not a great move, but he's outplayed most expectations so far so losing him for nothing would be a step backward that Jackson wouldn't want to see in year 4 of his 5 year save the Knicks project. They have no cap space and no realistically tradeable assets (unless you want to dump more picks) so they're pretty much backed into this corner.
Damn, didn't know the grizz were travelling so well. 11-7. 5th in the west.
But if Conley is done for the season, so is that team. And age is really starting to be a factor. Marc is now 32. ...

nah that old ass team gonna vet their way to the postseason. Just like John and Karl when they were 40
It feels strange that they gave up that first rounder knowing how old their core would be at this stage. They must've been supremely confident in their ability to turn into a championship caliber squad by now.
It's a different front office and the pick has been pending for 2 years now (I think) so who knows what the other group was thinking. For all we know their plan could have been to trade some people.

Again, I can only go by boxscores since I've watched only 2 full Knicks games but Jennings seems to be doing not terrible, no? I hear he has good synergy with KP and the other Euro players, and he seems to be passing the ball. I mean, the whole point of the Rose/Jennings deal was to take a shot while Carmelo still has knees and of the two, keep 1 and trade the other if their value is up.
As for picks the previous moves of Willy and "Old Grandma" Kuzminskas have given the bench a lift, but yeah picks will be hard to come by. Wouldn't extend Rose until they're sure about Jennings IMHO.
Grizz don't have trade fodder other than their major guys. They have big contract vets, old old old vets, and then rookies.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that retaining Derrick Rose is mutually exclusive to Jennings, his performance, and whether he moves onto another team.
And Jennings is fucking awful lol wtf. 37% overall and 30% shooting from deep. FOH.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postjennings is shooting 37% from the field right now as a scoring PGIs he a scoring PG right now? Because I've been screaming he needs to get out of that mentality and be more a drive and kick guy and humble himself. I can't attest to it, but I've seen boxscores where his shot total is acceptable and he has good assist numbers, then I see scores where he's classic volume shooting Brandon Jennings. He needs to learn what side of the fence he's going to be on but it's not going to decided after a month, same with Rose.
He's 27 years old and he's always sucked. Jennings isn't gonna be a factor in whether the Knicks are retaining Rose.
Let's put it this way... if Phil decides that he can let Rose walk because they have Jennings, then lmao.

Or, just the next PG's future salary.

EDIT: IF Rose proves he can stay somewhat healthy this season and continues to not impede the O, I think that would help ease my fears.
By reilo Go To PostY'all are over the cap in 2017.... Jennings for a late 1st, anyone? Dy I know you like Jennings you be talking him up all summer.
Jennings is not playing like a scoring point right now, his attempts are down and he is literally looking to set up KP before he even crosses half court everytime, which is a good thing cause Rose ignores KP like a Westworld android ignores evidence of their artificiality. Jennings is a pretty decent bench player I wouldn't mind him coming back, just not to start. This Rose shit is gonna make me even more depressed than usual though.
Grizz won't firesale I don't think, they'll try to stay afloat til Feb. think they're gonna take it day-to-day, firesale is plan Z.
They're basically as good as fringe playoff teams now but with a couple game cushion.

I mean, if you're the Celts, don't you trade all your picks for Conley and Gasol as a pair?
The grizz can't reload really anymore. This is the final form of the roster. Which sorta sucks for them, they were some great teams that did a lot in the play offs.. but ran into some REALLY great teams and some KD bullshittery.

And NY might sneak into the playoffs instead of getting a top pick, god damn, could you mismanage a team worse if you tried?

Because Rose’s last contract was more than three years ago, the former Bull is eligible for one of those pre-free-agency “veteran extensions’’ that Russell Westbrook signed over the summer. Can you imagine the stupid money the more complete PGs of the future will get?
By CBA rules, Rose’s veteran extension can only be three years long and start at 7.5 percent higher than his current wage. The extension package would be for approximately three years, $75 million.
“I haven’t talked to them about it,’’ Rose told The Post. “It’s been more about winning games. We’ll see. I’m more concerned with trying to win games, but it’s something I’d have to talk about with my family and team.’’
According to an NBA source, the Knicks have not approached Rose about an extension, but have not ruled it out for late in the season. The Knicks apparently want to make sure his body holds up across a full season and would be willing to pay more this summer if they had to.
Rose is the 14th-highest-paid player in the NBA this season at $21.3 million. If he signs an extension now, next season’s salary would begin at $23 million. His wage would go to $24.6 million in Year 2 and $26.2 million in Year 3.
Not bad — unless you believe Rose will play his way into a max deal this summer, considering the escalating salary cap and ridiculous pacts being dispensed.
If he waits until this summer, Rose’s maximum starting salary could be as high as $29 million. That would allow him a chance to sign a five-year package worth $175 million if he stays with the Knicks — four years if he leaves.

By masud Go To PostAlso the Knicks are not over the cap next year, they only have 76 mil committed (without resigning Rose, Jennings, Holiday etc) what's the cap projection next year?
~$102 million. The thing is, look at the list of pending free agent PGs, and tell me who you realistically can get that's an improvement:
Derrick Rose
Stephen Curry
Jrue Holiday
Deron Williams
Jeff Teague
George Hill
Jose Calderon
Shaun Livingston
Darren Collison
Brandon Jennings
Patrick Mills
Trey Burke
Aaron Brooks
Michael Carter-Williams
Shelvin Mack
Mo Williams
Tyler Ennis
Raymond Felton
Beno Udrih
John Lucas III
Ty Lawson
Brian Roberts
Bobby Brown
Jonathan Gibson

3/75 for washed up Rose would be overpaying, yes. There may be worse deals and Rose outperformed expectations but he's still hovering around average.
