He moved after the gather. I believe that's not a charge, that's a blocking foul.

By Rob Go To PostThanks for this; I was looking for it earlier.
By vic Go To PostWho knew that he was a championship piece?I've been saying that he was our best bench pickup in years. He's easily the best since Collison. With that said, I just want to see how we fare against the top teams in the league. The Spurs game could have been a fluke since it was on the back end of a back to back.

Not voted since 1980. That's actually respectable. It's a permanent principled stand. Even if it's one I disagree with.

They're going to trade DMC to Boston for 18 worthless picks + Kelly Olynyk, aren't they.
That is a liveable wage, at least. It is still a big risk to not get a "free" college degree, but it gives them an opportunity to form more connections and earn some resources that they can maybe fall back on should they flame out.
Phil Jackson comments on (lebron and) "his posse" and Lebron's response:
Lebron's response:
He's a family man and a father. How dare you Phil Jackson!
Jackson: "It had to hurt when they lost LeBron. That was definitely a slap in the face. But there were a lot of little things that came out of that. When LeBron was playing with the Heat, they went to Cleveland and he wanted to spend the night. They don’t do overnights. Teams just don’t. So now (coach Erik) Spoelstra has to text Riley and say, ‘What do I do in this situation?’ And Pat, who has iron-fist rules, answers, ‘You are on the plane, you are with this team.’ You can’t hold up the whole team because you and your mom and your posse want to spend an extra night in Cleveland."
"I always thought Pat had this really nice vibe with his guys. But something happened there where it broke down. I do know LeBron likes special treatment. He needs things his way."
Lebron's response:
LeBron James on whether he has any relationship with Phil Jackson:
"Zero. No relationship at all. I had nothing but respect fro him as a coach for what he was able to do. Obviously he was at the helm of (the team featuring) my favorite player of all time, MJ, and also being there growing up and watching him with the Lakers, but I got nothing for him."
LeBron James explained his problem with Phil Jackson's "posse" label referring to him and his business associates:
"To use that label, and if you go and read the definition of what the word 'posse' is, it's not what I've built over my career. It's not what I stand for. It's not what my family stands for. And I believe the only reason he used that word is because it's young African-Americans trying to make a difference."
He's a family man and a father. How dare you Phil Jackson!
"Posse" is a pretty loaded term. PJ is an old-head, so back in his day it was more acceptable to use it, but it comes across as... insensitive to use it in today's environment. He probably didn't mean it in a derogatory way, but he could've picked his words better.
"Friends" would have worked better. Unless he wanted it to be derogatory? Then he could have used "hanger-ons" or something instead.
I truly don't think he was trying to be derogatory in any sense. Yes he could have said friends and family, but...
Simple Definition of posse
: a group of people who were gathered together by a sheriff in the past to help search for a criminal
: a group of people who are together for a particular purpose
: a group of friends

if anyone was wondering, Avery Johnson is still a terrible coach
By Kibner Go To PostPosse would be fine if he wasn't speaking about a group of young minorities.I don't know. I still think its a shot at his management group - but no matter how you feel about those guys you have to acknowledge that they've turned LBJ into a massive brand.
By DY_nasty Go To Postif anyone was wondering, Avery Johnson is still a terrible coachAgreed on Avery Johnson. My nightmare scenario two off-seasons ago was getting him as head coach with Dumars as GM.
I don't know. I still think its a shot at his management group - but no matter how you feel about those guys you have to acknowledge that they've turned LBJ into a massive brand.
Yeah, you may be right about LeBron being offended as much or more for his friends being talked down to like that (since they have now become successful independent of James) than as to any racial underpinnings behind the word "posse".
It's also hilarious/ironic that PJ is lambasting someone for using their influence and stature to get what they want.
By reilo Go To PostIt's also hilarious/ironic that PJ is lambasting someone for using their influence and stature to get what they want.It doesn't mean what LBJ did, and the burden / strain it puts on the coach/player/team/org, isn't a dick move.

i mean... i don't think phil was racial about it, but it was clearly meant as a disrespect.

lol jk. knowing PJ, he knew exactly what he meant

Even if it was meant to be derogatory, which it probably was, and LBJ has been known for having a large crew. He's had them blocked by several owners. And they threw a tantrum when CLE blocked them on LBJ's first game back in CLE.
It doesn't alter that in a basketball and team sense, it paints LBJ not very well.
And selfmade? lol.
