oh
trey burke looked unbelievably terrible in his first game, Satoransky looked miles better, maybe Ernie's best second round pick of all time, guys probably gonna be a starter for the spurs or something in three years
Burke looked like a 60 rated 5'11 guy in NBA 2k. He's absolutely NOT a PG from what I could see, so a scoring PG that's got a shit first step and not particularly great at all at creating his own shot
did i mention his defense?

He was actually a really good college player.
I still think he can actually be an NBA player. He just needs to stop with this PG bullshit and try to be Eddie House. To his credit he actually is pretty clutch.

props to kerr:
No matter what side of the spectrum you’re on, I would hope every American is disgusted with what’s going on in the country, what just happened in Tulsa two days ago with Terence Crutcher. Doesn’t matter what side you’re on on the Kaepernick stuff, you better be disgusted with the things that are happening. … [Kaepernick] acknowledged his respect for the military and really clarified his message that this is about unarmed black people being killed indiscriminately around the country and it just happened two days ago. That’s the message. That’s what matters.
By Adam Blade Go To PostWasn't Jonny Flynn a good college player too? He's probably telling everybody in his rec league all about his triple OT game.
Ask Rodeo how that turned out.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postprops to kerr:Cool, but Pop was the GOAT in terms of his response on the situation.

i dont know if you guys knew but during his stint as a lakers coach. Byron didn't talk to his players.
he would have his assistant coaches talk to players for him.

He never played with Stockton.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postwould the mike d lakers of been successful if nash was completely healthy?nash mvp or old nash?
Nash MVP was amazing.
he and D'antoni was the perfect storm of offensive minds.
but Dwight is meh on the pick and roll and he was coming off a major injury
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postwould the mike d lakers of been successful if nash was completely healthy?
No, because Dwight still hated the PnR, didn't gel with Kobe and wasn't A+++ on defense because of the injury and because he hated Kobe telling him that's his role.
By reilo Go To PostSpoiler:it's fake.
I figured as much but damn, if I was told it was real, it wouldn't really shock me.
This team is thinner than the hype train realizes, particularly on the wing, but the nucleus of Ricky Rubio, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Andrew Wiggins inspires legit butterflies. Can we not be in such a rush for the Wolves to trade Rubio, by the way? There isn't much evidence their offense can subsist without him, the few teams that need point guards don't have a ton to trade, and his backups might not be ready for major NBA minutes.Zach Lowe gets it, you guys.
The idea is you sacrifice a great roleplaying PG and and potential playoff berth for quicker development of a potential franchise PG and more wins later.
It's not about the short term.
It's not about the short term.
I don't think anyone has said "wow the wolves would be better without Rubio", I think they've said "wow they can have better in that slot."
Total diff.

By Tea Go To PostI don't think anyone has said "wow the wolves would be better without Rubio", I think they've said "wow they can have better in that slot."Sure. Ricky's not perfect. He can't really shoot (though he's not nearly as bad as you think), he struggles around the rim, but he does everything else at an elite level basically. So just tell me who's better, available and how the Wolves get him.
Total diff.
If you say they already have him and it's Kris Dunn, you're immediately disqualified.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postwould the mike d lakers of been successful if nash was completely healthy?
It would have been very interesting. Dwight being an Amare that played defense. Kobe being a release valve.
They needed health, and to pick up some guys who could shoot once it got going. But the basic plan was fine. Until you added in that none of them would ever be healthy.

I've said repeatedly all the reasons I don't really care for Dunn as a prospect and why I don't think he's a great fit next to LaVine, Wiggins, Towns and nobody ever really answers. It's super weird.
Look, at best, it might be a lateral move some day. That's certainly not right now and very likely not ever. He's the same size as Ricky, so maybe he can defend like him one day. He creates for himself better, but you hope that maybe he can get over all those pesky playmaking problems and his turnovers and do what Rubio already does. Also, Kris Dunn can't shoot, either, so that's probably a wash.
I really don't think Rubio and Dunn is a controversy. Dunn is a backup.

Even if Dunn is only a backup (i'm a Rubio fan), in this league, it's been proven many times, you can run units with 2 point guards. It's almost essential even. You can't have a second unit that goes -10 every time it's on the floor, and be good. It just doesn't happen.
And Rubio seems to be a good spot up shooter, but terrible off the dribble. If you get him off the ball with Dunn... you may be able to get Rubio some space to catch and shoot.
By P.SY! Go To PostMaybe I should be taking this hurricane seriously.
Yes, you should.
There really isn't much you can do other than stock pile water & food, make sure you're in an appropriate building / area, and have candles / torches.
Oh, make sure you have nothing in your yard / balcony that can be blown away.
By pilonv1 Go To PostKings commentators seem to be very divisive. I love them though, very honest.
The hate is because they wear out the same phrases over and over. Most of the hate is from their own local fanbase. The PbP guy Napear has a local talk show and has a history of backstabbing/trashing players as soon as they leave or get traded. Even beloved guys like Bobby Jackson. He's just kind of a weasely fellow. He also backed the Maloofs and kept up their lies while it was clear what the Maloofs were doing.
So the hate is mostly from the broadcaster's history outside of the actual broadcast.

It might work on defense, they're both big, but I honestly think the only way it works two ways is Bjelica at the 4 and one other real shooter.

(I'm real bullish on Bjelica. He came on pretty good at the end of the year, good shooter, Thibs wants to use him as a point forward. Yes, please.)

I don't mean for extended minutes. But for a 3minute spurt twice a game it's probably not going to be the unmaking of the team, and allow for a better bench transition into the game for rotations.

I mean you disagree with people think of him as a prospect. That's fine, your FO disagrees. They didn't draft Dunn thinking he'd just be a lateral move to a player they already had.
As for where I fall on it? I've never been high on Dunn as a prospect for a lot of reasons--injury issues, meh stats as a 4 year guard...but I recognize he does have the physical attributes, mentality, and handle to make it in the league--don't know if that results in an elite player, I doubt it.
I will say this: I think the team as it stands has flaws where they would get destroyed in the playoffs not so much purely because of talent but because of their composition. They'll always be able to shift another guy to help on Towns with Rubio on the court, and he's not going to be able to overcome the negatives that come from that in a playoff scenario where people are actually focusing on the Wolves for once and not just going through the regular season.

Trading Rubio really doesn't help them get to that end result, he's too important to the team. And given the current circumstance (he's really good and there's no clear upgrade at the position), I'll take my chances. Elite defender and I will ride the Rubio-Towns pick and roll straight to hell.
