We have Luck
We have nothing else
so you have a generational QB who singlehandedly covers up most of the personnel issues on the roster, and a defense that couldn't stop a cold?
nope, doesn't sound like the Colts at all.
2 backs with over 100 yards rushing this week.
I miss football when 25-30 attempts passing was considered high.

Yep. Box safeties are becoming more and more popular in order to stop the run/cover LBs closer to the line of scrimmage.
So, there is this guy who has done a lot of statistical analysis on running backs in the NFL over the last six years and is trying to present his findings in a readable and interactable fashion. I figure some of you guys may be interested. It is a series of posts on an external forum, however. Ground Control: deconstructing the run game to an unreasonable extent
All his data and tools are free and open source. Even the charts he makes and formulas and everything else that goes into producing the charts and findings.
Welcome to the “Ground Control” project.
My goal is pretty simple. I want to investigate all aspects of the NFL running game to an extent that is unreasonably excessive.
There will be charts, and graphs. There will be math. There will be videos, and reporting, and impossibly obscure factoids. There will be interactive apps. For the statheads, there will be Bayes Law and Bootstrapping, Regression models and Decision trees. There will be mythbusting, and there will also be shooting-from-the-hip bullshit speculation.
But most of all, I want there to be a place for goons to get together and learn something about football from one another. Participation is encouraged: ask questions, post breakdowns, link to histories and outside analyses. Just keep it focused on the run game.
You will not need to know one iota of statistics in order to follow this thread. We will provide everything you need to know as it comes up, in plain English.

Watched everyone of their week one snaps. Bills ain't shit on offense. Need to let Tyrod go Willie Beamen and spread things out. Clay can operate from the slot just fine.
Holy FUCK BRANDON MARSHALL'S KNEE.
I don't think I need a replay to know that's season-ending. Dirty fucking tackle.

By The Frankman Go To PostYooooo Tyrod blacked out. Refs talking him out for concussion.I missed it. He passed out after a hit?
By Apollo Go To PostI missed it. He passed out after a hit?Got crunched, slumped to the ground for 4-5 seconds. Got back up but Hoculi forced him to leave the game.

damn man. Jets look better today.
Brandon Marshall is dealing with a "slight" left knee sprain.Look at the pic and gif of his knee going in a bad direction.
"I thought he was down for the count," coach Todd Bowles admitted after the game. Marshall said he lost feeling in his knee after getting it twisted near the end of the first half, but resumed playing after it came back. Marshall looked to be running at close to full speed after returning. He should be good to go for Week 3 against the Chiefs
I really don't know where the Bills go from here. The offense looks anemic. The defense is poor, too. Gonna be a long season.
Bills fired OC Greg Roman.Utter BS. But wait, it gets better.
Roman is taking the fall for the failures of Rex Ryan's defense, which was absolutely annihilated by Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Forte, and the Jets on Buffalo's home turf Thursday night. Ryan's defense got gashed by the run and couldn't generate any pressure last season, something Rex essentially blamed on outgoing DC Jim Schwartz. The Bills are now blaming Roman. Quickly, the Bills have become one of the NFL's most dysfunctional organizations. A full-on house cleaning will likely take place at season's end.
Bills promoted Anthony Lynn to offensive coordinator.
Lynn is a Rex Ryan guy from New York, where he previously coached running backs for the Jets. His old title with Buffalo was assistant head coach/running backs. The Bills needed someone to blame for Rex's inability to stop offenses, so they fired Greg Roman and gave Lynn – Rex's longtime buddy – his job. All of these guys are going to get fired after the season, if not before it ends.
BTW this was the Tyrod Taylot hit
Apollo, he was the highest paid OC in the league!
The Bills are still that club that drafted Willis McGhee in the first round after he blew his knee out in front of the world against Ohio State in the national title game. Willis lasted three years. They then drafted Marshawn Lynch. He also lasted three years and then he too was traded this time for practically nothing.
They haven't had a QB since Kelly and they're run like shit; draft like shit; and have shitty luck. Tyrod could be their savior.
Great fan base though I'll give them that.

They've actually been drafting really well lately. Even if you think Watkins was a reach, they still have most of their top round draft picks in starting positions.
They just can't get consistency to put it all together.

I think Sammy Watkins is great. But again, look what they gave up to aquire him fourth overall. Two ones and a fourth for a team that needs bodies in a lot of positions. It's a hard sell. Not fair to Watkins but that's how it goes.
The McCoy trade was also good business. That contract though I don't know but he's a great player too.

The should run the table in reverse. I couldn't imagine anything better happening to Rob and Rex Ryan.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula had private meetings with key offensive players before deciding to fire OC Greg Roman this week.
Rex Ryan has publically said it was his decision to move on from the offensive coordinator, but it has become clear that was not the case. Ryan was reportedly "not happy" about the meetings. Things are well on their way to unraveling in Buffalo, and it would not be surprising if Ryan was shown the door before the end of the season. Already 0-2, the Bills get the Cardinals and Patriots in the next two weeks.
Seems like the higherups fired Roman and Ryan wasn't involved. Interesting.
that's what they're saying in the local papers too. You could see roman wasn't getting much of a response out of the offense. the EXACT same glaring issues from last season were immediately noticeable.
you chatting. If nothing else we coming for that wack patriot ass.

By Vlatko Go To PostCancel the parade. McCown already injured. Browns being the Browns.Spurs'd it
How can I have no expectations for the Browns and still be disappointed? I don't understand how they have this power over me.
Niners are better than anyone thought they would be. With a better coach they would be first round fodder. With a better coach and QB they would be great. The defense is kind of young though.
By Meier Go To PostOops. Wrong thread. But sigh at my Bucs. :(It's going to happen with young teams like the Bucs, especially facing a damn good defense on the road.
