It is why I feel no need to upgrade.
I would rather wait for a full on 4k console that will make me want to upgrade my TV. I could do with a new one late next year or early 2018

On Tomb Raider they offer like 3 variants. 4k 30fps, 1080p 60fps and 1080p 30fps with everything on ultra.
So you can't properly say it yet, and I doubt that every developer will offer those options.
Like Horse said though, resolutionwise and HDR will be obviously bound to 4k TVs.
Generally 1080p games will look better and most likely have a far better framerate.

The latency you get from things like 30fps and the poor response times on TVs is orders of magnitude higher than any latency you get from a pad being wireless.

Nicky Butt, the head of Manchester United's academy, has introduced some unusual methods to help the club's youngsters avoid injury.
Former United midfielder Butt has invited circus performers and free runners to speak to the players after comparing their backgrounds unfavourably to his.
He told The Times: "I see players in our academy and they can't move. Our lads don't know how to fall, roll and you should see the amount of injuries we get from popped shoulders or their arms.
"I probably fell out of a tree 15 times and never hurt myself. I don't think my son has ever climbed a tree. Body mechanics lose so much when you're not climbing trees, not playing basketball, cricket and rugby.
"This might sound bizarre but we've had a guy come in from the circus, telling the kids how to do spinning plates, jumping through hoops, circus tricks to get their biomechanics working.
As if we didn't already have enough proof that static images on IGN and in Game Informer are what move software, we'll now have the consoles to prove it.
In what world would anyone (especially developers) choose to have a lower frame rate for higher image clarity beyond 1080p?
I've seen HDR demos in person and they are very nice. But when it comes to control and visual appeal in games there's no fucking way half the frames makes any sense. That sacrifice is beyond bizarre and anyone making the argument the other way is not thinking straight.
Having the option to choose available is wonderful though.
