I'll echo Adam Blade. Can't go wrong with Night's Dawn and Hyperion.
I'll go ahead and assume you've already read William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy (Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive). Cyberpunk's been relegated to the anachronism drawer for a while now, but I still consider Gibson's work seminal. If you haven't you should at the very least read Neuromancer. I also recommend Burning Chrome, a sweet collection of short stories.
Richard K. Morgan's Takeshi Kovacs trilogy (Altered Carbon, Broken Angels and Woken Furies) is another good call.

Explain to me the PR upside of this Busby thing.

I can see why the family no longer have access to the directors box. How many generations do you allow that to go on for? And from what I understand they've provided season tickets for all of the grandchildren.
As for the plaque. They could and should have just left if there because it's harmless but I think it's just a sticker/badge on the seat with the name of the person who sits there. Busby's son sat on his seat after he passed. Bobby C and Fergie will have a similar one on theirs. Could have just left it there but the man does have a statue of himself in front of the ground I don't think he's being disrespected that much.

Watched the derby that RVP (feat. Nasri) won for us.
Highlights: Rooney incessantly mouthing off at Valencia after spraying pass after pass out of play. Atkinson refusing to play advantage after Yaya stormed through three challenges and was essentially through on goal, albeit from an angle. And best of all, Yaya ferociously taking out Cleverley and then, moments later, collapsing to the ground whimpering about his knee. What an arse that man has always been.
Special mention for Tevez kicking Phil right in front of SAF as the seconds ticked away.

Looks like Ajax will be missing Traore and Ziyech, two of our more important players most likely. Fuck the Africa Cup really.
Nonetheless, the deal was completed and the Spanish giants are weighing up a legal challenge in search of compensation from the Sao Paulo club.
Weigh up paying your taxes you trash club

By Oddinho Go To PostHaven't played it myself so I can't make any comment towards the combat but people seem to think it's pretty good?
The combat was sluggish, unresponsive and lacking in any weight whatsoever in the platinum demo. I had hype for the game until that turd 😖

Just wanted to chime on yday convo, I do think Henderson is unfairly criticized, I mean he is a bit of a nothing player but has a good engine, can pass the ball about ok, and a good player to have in a midfield imo.

Paulo Sousa about to leave Fiorentina according to Mediaset.
I, for one, am shocked. Nobody saw this coming.
I'm surprised he lasted this long. He and Fiorentina's owners clearly hate each other's guts.

It has come to my attention that Mario Melchiot signs off all his tweets with #mmlove and I don't quite know how to process this information.
Dillinger playing 3 times in Denmark, one time in Oslo next year. What a farewell that will be.
Also 8 shows in England in a weeks time. Hopefully I can get tickets to o2 forum.

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostOh, this reminds me why I stay away from reading GAF threads on racial/cultural matters"You should be aware of racial profiling and it is therefore your responsibility to arrive early so you won't miss your flight if you're randomly selected for a security screening." is basically his point right? Must be nice to emigrate to the land of the free because your home country has been ravaged by war and terrorism and then you'd have to put up with crap like this.

I went to Belgium two weeks ago and this came up. We were on our way to the border and one of my mates asked if you needed your ID or passport when traveling abroad in Europe. Yes you idiot, you do. Well we couldn't turn back, so we just had to risk it. We would probably be fine because of the Schengen agreement anyway, and we're four white dudes and... oh no wait one of my friends was born in Baghdad and he looks like an Arab. If he had to travel to the US he'd be randomly selected too and I don't think the TSA would care much for the fact that his parents had to flee Iraq when he was a baby because they were Christian. It's a mess.

In an extract from a new book, Paul Scholes talks about how he has fallen out of love with the Premier League and why he is not sure he will ever go into management
Least motivational man in cosmos inches toward correct decision
Yaya's agent is a hoot.
They will lose a lot of millions of supporters from Africa because of this decision from Guardiola.
Now they will support Manchester United. A lot of people in Africa say they will never see any more matches of City on TV.
He will have many offers from clubs. China and America of course they want him but we will have a lot of offers from England and Europe. He is in very good shape, very good condition, I think he lost seven kilograms.
Maybe that’s not good enough for Guardiola, but then Zlatan Ibrahimovic wasn’t good enough for him.
In January we will see. It is three months to wait — no problem. Yaya is a very professional guy.
