By Smokey Go To Postnd/ut was a pretty great game
amazing. drama, big plays, OT. can't ask for more.
Assuming that wasn't a mirage, Strong appears to be safe. The real test will come now that opposing teams have some tape to examine and gameplan with.
ND losing was a win for all things Holy, ironically.
Charlie Strong beginning the season with a signature win. Giving up 17 unanswered is gross tho.
Houston proving that stomping FSU in a bowl game was no fluke. Oklahoma equally sonned.
SEC looking like it's not as strong as usual...or just very top-heavy with Alabama.

Looking at minimum of probably $400 for two tickets plus parking. And nosebleeds. Got me fuked.

I don't understand how Kenny Hill got Big XII co-offensive player of the week when Mahomes played barely more than a half and had more rushing yards, more passing yards, more touchdowns, a better completion percentage, fewer (zero) interceptions, led an offense that scored more points, and was on a team that wasn't within 4 points of an FCS opponent in the 4th quarter.

I'm just saying.
Gondo's idea has merit doe.
This has to be a first: Dr. Blade giving me credit for an idea. :P
Really though, watching games from home is often just as enjoyable as going to games. Plus you can keep an eye on other interesting games, use the bathroom, see replays, avoid traffic, etc.

It feels like Notre Dame played a pretty good game themselves on Sunday and Texas was just a little bit better. I really do feel like 9-10 wins is possible this year. The only games that are toss ups this year are OSU OU, TCU and maybe Tech.
Also: if you commit to play football at Oklahoma State, you too could have an office as gaudy as Boone Pickens' someday.
Fun fact - The Texas Tech versus Arizona State series is tied 1-1, even though both schools were in the same conference for over 20 years, and neither of those 2 games were conference games (OOC in 1999 and bowl in 2013). Tech only averaged a little over 3 conference games per season the years they were in the Border Conference for some reason.
We did play Arizona pretty much every season in that conference, though. About 18 games with them while in conference, and another 14 OOC.

Discussion of Big 12 vs Arizona school matchups makes me wistful for dreams of the Manifest Destiny Conference.

Now the opposite is plausible. Crazy.
The Baylor-UT back to back are absolutely huge for us. If we can win both we have a good chance to start 10-0 again.
Arizona State was second to last in the country in passing defense last season, and are currently 117th in the country this season after one game against an FCS opponent.
This must be what LSU felt like looking at our run defense stats before the bowl game.

Since this week is so bad schedule-wise, I'll just be listing the 5 best games in my humble opinion.
- Texas Tech at Arizona State (Saturday, 10 PM EST, FS1)
- BYU at Utah (Saturday, 7:30 PM EST, Fox)
- Arkansas at #15 TCU (Saturday, 7:00 PM EST, ESPN)
- Penn State at Pittsburgh (Saturday, Noon EST, ESPN)
- Washington State at Boise State (Saturday, 10:15 PM EST, ESPN 2)
*whew* Looking at the full schedule was physically painful.
It seems likely that the only thrills this weekend will come from a major favorite hilariously stubbing their toe against an underdog.
Based on their performance in the first week, this will likely happen in the SECSECSEC.

Number of cupcakes does amplify upset potential. Today could be hella exciting or a mega-snoozer. There is no in between.
Perhaps the most appropriate Saturday to have a wedding during football season.

Checking in on the scores today for the first time. Assumed it would be a pretty quiet day so far having not even made it to the second set of start times yet.
...WTH, Gondo. And Georgia and Clemson? WTH all around.

I'll never ever understand why the fade in the endzone is so popular when i swear a slant is like twice as effective.
By diehard Go To PostI'll never ever understand why the fade in the endzone is so popular when i swear a slant is like twice as effective. The fade only works when you have a big, tall, strong receiver.
Washington is great, but he is not that.
By diehard Go To PostI'll never ever understand why the fade in the endzone is so popular when i swear a slant is like twice as effective.Fade is much safer. It's a lot easier on a fade to get a ball where either your guy catches it or nobody catches it, and you throw it high so the odds of getting batted down at the line are lower/nonexistent.
