Gary Patterson talking about being disappointed with attendance. Picture from right before kickoff -
Not the first time he's brought this up in press conferences. If he ever leaves Fort Worth (admittedly not very likely) this may end up being why.

Well the TCU fans who stayed home were rewarded by not having to sit through that terrible performance.
Big 12 commissioner seeks clarity on Ohio State, Washington playoff berths
Short version -
Short version -
- We were told that Baylor's weak OOC would hold them back, so we made a rule increasing the quality of our OOC schedules.
- We were told that not having the CCG "13th data point" would hold us back, so we lobbied for and received a CCG.
- A team with a weak OOC schedule and a team without a CCG appearance just made the playoff.
- WTF.
It's the same as it ever was with human voters.
If you're a blueblood, you're assumed to be good until proven otherwise. And if you're not a traditional power, any slip-up is proof that you don't belong.
I think that's 90% of it. It's a powerful assumption when applied over the course of a full season.

Lmao.
If that happens then nothing makes sense besides Boone forcing Gundy out.
Boone must not be happy about Bedlam.

As I replied on the other site earlier, feels like T. Boone and the AD will get sick of this at some point, though. Hard to imagine it would happen with Baylor but it feels like one of these days he'll have another dalliance with a team like Tennessee and get his bluff called.
Gundy should be considered for more elite head coaching opportunities. He's done a really good job at Okie state.
I'm with you. I'd be surprised if he hasn't been offered some good ones.
I think he'll be much cozier as soon as Boone is out of the picture. I mean, we're all frustrated that we can't beat OU but Boone has been watching us lose to OU for 70+ years.
Isn't gonna change anytime soon. If we got to the point where we were winning 3 out of 10 that would nearly double our historical winning percentage.

Oklahoma Supreme Court has ruled that the Joe Mixon assault tape must be released.
Convenient timing, just after they win the conference.

"Knight said opinions "in these cases don’t become final until a mandate is issued. If we don’t file the petition for re-hearing, my guess is the mandate will be issued the first or second week of January."
Convenient timing, just after their bowl game.
If the tape is as bad as we've heard, I'd imagine it will make Stoops and Boren look pretty bad for allowing this guy to remain on campus.
But Bob Stoops could murder someone in cold blood at the 50-yard line and most OU fans would be happy to explain why the guy had it coming.

Rage.
By Smokey Go To PostYisssThe idea of playing against Kiffin next season was weird to me. He's like a mythological creature whose exploits are told far and wide but who you never expected to actually encounter in real life.
I'm ok with this
So Lamar Jackson has the Heisman on lock tonight, right?
5k total yards and 51 TDs.
On paper it's not even close.
And Jabrill Peppers being invited is jokes. The award is all hype and a joke itself anyway but he doesn't have the numbers to be considered the best overall offensive player in the country.

By Monroeski Go To PostLooks like Houston hired Major Applewhite as their HC.
Sorry, Kiffikins.
lol, a former Texas player. Houston wants to be TX so badly.
By KingGondo Go To PostThe popularity of Lane Kiffin is mystifying to me.
I said the same thing on the previous page:

IDK why Saban decided to save Kiffin. Cronyism for his dad?
You said he was OK as a coordinator.
By Phoenix RISING Go To PostYou said he was OK as a coordinator.Hard to find much fault with his performance as OC at Bama. He's also working with a 5-deep of the best talent though so that has to be taken into account.
Kiffin a great offensive mind.
You just have to Reign his dumb ass in sometimes 😂 cause he tends to favor passing over running
Saban and Kiffin are like the odd couple though.

So much salt.
That's my President
Looks like all that bloom on Kiffin's rose is more in the media than the guys actually making hiring decisions.
From being a head coach in the NFL and at USC to being head coach at a 16 year old program with a .395 all-time record.
If Kiffin goes to FAU, the state of Florida has the most stacked coaches.
Fisher
Richt
Davis
Strong
Kiffin
Even that UCF coach is pretty good.
Fuck the Gators.

Apparently we're recruiting Jaylon Lane out of JUCO. Currently committed to Oregon State, making a final decision on Wednesday as an early enrollee.
Gondo may remember him as a guy with a mile long offer list that committed to Oklahoma State back in high school before decommitting after a pretty colorful arrest incident.

The name definitely rings a bell.
We just lost a pretty good OL recruit to Aggy. Dat SEC mystique I guess.

Lowkey. He can hide there with reduced expectations. And rise like a PHOENIX!!!
(I kid)
Also you forgot Tennessee..

😂😂😂 @ 5-deep!

Didn't forget them, just didn't mean it to be comprehensive. USC was the highest profile college job and Oakland was the NFL job so I was just leaving out all others, which in his case means I somewhat unintentionally only left out one school.
Our 2017 football schedule was announced today.
Only bye we have is in week 2, with away games at Houston, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Texas. Brutal.
Apparently Kansas State currently has a week 2 bye as well, though, and there are discussions trying to move our game against them from November 4th to September 9th.

There was once a time when Tennessee was a 5-star program. I forget it has been 20 years....
Hearing that Rudolph and Washington are coming back for their senior seasons at Oklahoma State. Could make you guys the preseason favorites for the conference next year.

We should be very good, but Big 12 football is becoming like basketball. OU should be considered the favorite until further notice, just like KU in basketball. I do like the fact that we don't have a bye week before Bedlam this year, which should give Gundy less time to imagine soul-crushing scenarios in which we could lose.
We also have a tricky noncon schedule. Tulsa at home, Pitt on the road.

They say Mahomes is 50/50 on heading to the draft as of now, but that he mentions the money being hard to pass up a fair bit. I'd still guess he's leaving but if there wasn't at least a decent chance he'd be back he would have already announced that he's gone.
Presumed new starter Shimonek gets good reviews, and the JUCO we just signed seems a good fit and we've been talking to him since high school. Our true freshman from last season's status is still a bit up in the air with some kind of legal issue, but our new true freshman is a January enrollee (though he's raw as hell).
We'll still be really shallow at QB if Mahomes leaves but history has shown we shouldn't really worry about what Kingsbury puts out there behind center. Much more concerned with our rushing OL growing up than I am with whatever Mahomes does.

Bob Stoops on Mixon -
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said in a Wednesday that had the events surrounding Joe Mixon’s 2014 punch of a woman happened today, he would have been dismissed from the team.
…
He said he believes the world has changed since the incident, and that Mixon would have been off the team right away…“There’s no recovering from these incidents anymore.”
