By KingGondo Go To PostIt wouldn't surprise me at all if Herman is able to immediately jump up into the top 3 of the conference, but I also think it's far from a sure thing.
That said, the conference is in a transitional phase right now and the only teams they'll definitely be picked behind next year are OU and OSU.
That's not beyond possibility.
I remain skeptical that The Longhorns isn't losing talent to to other Texas-based teams and OU and Nebraska.
In other news it was a pleasure to watch Dalvin Cook and he will be missed. First graduating class that FSU goes 8-0 against Miami and Florida.
FYI, that JUCO that the aforementioned Dakota Allen is attending is East Mississippi Community College, better known as the subject of the Netflix documentary series Last Chance U. He's rumored to be one of the focuses in the upcoming season 2.
Apparently he's the one that reached out to Tech to see if we would take him back so it could be some interesting viewing.

By Phoenix RISING Go To PostThat's not beyond possibility.Texas still gets talent, but they don't develop it well and they don't have a vision for the kind of program they want to be. The back and forth from the end of the Brown era to Strong kicking off half the roster to Strong constantly changing coordinators has left them a mess (obviously, how the hell does Texas *ever* lose to Kansas when KU is this bad).

Herman should definitely help offensively and especially at QB, where he has a great track record. Remains to be seen if he has a vision for the defense. You're still gonna lose out on a lot of those guys to Aggy and the SEC.

I have not laughed in two days. Thanks for this.

"My city got me and I got my city, I ain't going nowhere."
😀
I'm not going to click on that garbage headline, lol.
Speaking of garbage, let's talk about OSU giving the CFP Committee an oral cream pie. They're sitting at #2 when PSU nor Wisconsin can't even sniff a slot. Meanwhile Washington, Alabama, and Clemson have to play an extra game.

The headline is true though, if sensational.
More accurate would have been: "Dabo Swinney thinks reporters should be fired for not acting as free PR for his program"

When asked about whether he would hire Art Briles, who was fired earlier this year amid the sexual assault scandal at Baylor, Fertitta said, "I wish that we could get more clarity on what has happened out there [at Baylor]."
There are a lot of Baylor supporters in this city and people that are very close to the university … [former Baylor president] Ken Starr, the [former] athletic director [Ian McCaw], lots of senior people and senior alumni, regents at Baylor, have said 'If you will meet with us, we will talk to you about the coach and we will give you clarity of how much he didn't know.'
"Do I think that Briles got a bad rap to some degree? Obviously he did. But at the same time, you're the boss, and there was an issue there. So there's an issue. Does everybody deserve to be forgiven? Yes. There's a lot of controversy surrounding him. I think he's a great football coach, and we'll just have to see where it goes from here."
Also from that interview, on Big XII expansion -
"You know when I knew we were in trouble?" Fertitta said. "There were three [university] presidents who were on the [Big 12 expansion] committee and when we went to the interview, they weren't even part of the interview process. I walked out of that meeting and said 'Wow, this is a sham. There's no intention of doing anything.'
"It was one of the great shams in college football, and college athletics, and just college period. … It was a total sham and I sit here today and I laugh at the Big 12 and their leadership."
Apparently, back when they were both players at Miami, The Rock got in a fight with our DL coach and tried to rip his tongue out.
I'd go after Lincoln Riley if I'm you guys. Les is a bad fit and I don't get the football world's fixation with Kiffin.
By Smokey Go To PostFuck Tom HermanWhat were you expecting?
We should be up at least 10-0 considering how the first quarter went.
Really hope these missed opportunities don't come back to bite us.
But it's Bedlam so it will.

I'm only kind of half watching the game, admittedly, but does Rudolph look god awful today or is it just me?

Lol
IDK why Saban decided to save Kiffin. Cronyism for his dad?

Good on them.
Also Les Miles would be their Tuberville imo.

Speaking of Ol' Pine Box I'm a bit surprised he still has a job as of today with Cincinnati's season over. There was a fair contingent that wanted him gone even in year 2 after consecutive 9 win seasons, and since then they've gone 7-6 and 4-8.
Well that's a rap.

I just realized when an Alabama running back ran over somebody a minute ago that I could only actually name 1 player on the team this year, that being Hurts, and it actually took me a little bit to think of him.
It's like them being so good for so long has made them so boring to follow that I just tune out if I ever hear any coverage about them. :jnc Blah blah 5-stars, blah blah draft picks, blah blah undefeated.

Wouldn't say I'm into chaos, per se, they're just so damn consistent. Florida State is stacked top to bottom with talent, too, but they mix in their top 4 finishes with top 15 finishes. Even Ohio State under Meyer shows weaknesses here and there and slips up because of them.
Feels like Alabama only ever loses because "nobody wins every time," not because they actually got exploited.

and the bama invitational moves into it's final stages. surprise surprise. and jalen hurts is just a freshman. he's still going to get better.
so i guess we get bama vs washington, clemson vs ohio state.
at least imo thats the best case scenario

Clemson vs OSU will be interesting.
Bama winning so much is indeed boring, lol. Interestingly enough, nobody ever talks about that state outside of football.
PSU's comeback victory against Wisconsin was very entertaining tonight.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Tuberville will be stepping down. One of the candidates mentioned as a replacement, Neal Brown, was Tuberville's OC at Texas Tech.
The playoff is set. Alabama vs Washington, Clemson vs Ohio State.
Penn State now has a legitimate grievance to go along with their imagined ones.

this aint legit either. if you have 2 Ls you can't complain about whatever random shit the BCS and now CFP comes up with. don't lose twice.

No. You shouldn't be able to go to the CFP and not win your conference.
The other 3 teams also had to play an extra game. It would be poetic justice for Clemson to run OSU off the field, but that would be unlikely.
