What a twist this season has taken. Ward has no confidence and neither does the team. That Navy game combined with (imo) fatigue from our schedule, not opponent quality, has resulted in a terrible slide. Still haven't had a bye.
Great first half by the Pokes. Offense playing with a killer instinct, defense getting stops at key times.

The most frustrating part of watching other teams play football is realizing that just about 100% of the time both teams on the field have a better pass rush than us.
Hopefully we'll get some production out of the 3 DEs we're redshirting this year.
With divisions, you'd either be...
1. playing a round robin schedule and then NOT taking what are the two top proven teams, or
2. skipping only one team from the other division, a scenario in which the team that didn't draw Oklahoma or Texas would have a huge advantage in most seasons.
#2 exists in all conferences with divisions, of course, it would just be MUCH more pronounced if you're only skipping one team instead of half of the opposing division.

By KingGondo Go To PostA championship game in a round robin conference is silly too.I at least get the reasoning behind a CCG, though, even if it's just about marketing and not actual on-the-field logic.
Can't wait for this conference to wither and die.

Angles
We're not a particularly great pro sports town, let alone college.
Still better than some where like...Miami for instance.
Bet on a bunch of upsets today. OK State being one, Georgia, FSU, TTU and Nebraska(higher ranked but odds are not in their favor)
Am I the only one who feels like I've never heard the term "RPO" (run-pass option) before this season but now it comes up about 20 times every Saturday?
And they never just say "RPO," they always say what it stands for.

Seems like I have some memory of hearing it before, though usually I think it was just called generically an "option," but now they're just so clearly talking in parentheses when they explain it.
::edit::
Starting off the game with two straight turnovers, one in the end zone and one almost in our own red zone. Great.
10-10 at the half isn't a bad result so far. I'd obviously like more out of our offense but the defense is playing pretty well.
Tied it up! Planning for overtime. Hope we didn't leave too much time on the clock, defense has been good today but they're hard to trust.
By KingGondo Go To PostWhat was the O/U for the Tech-TCU game?~84 I think.

Just mention the triple option in Nebraska if you want to set off a long conversation about the 90s
Things I would rather watch than this Tennessee Sputh Carolina game that will undoubtedly be pure garbage.

2. The World Series

Do you guys think Dalvin Cook will be good in the NFL?
for as long as he's healthy at least. which won't be long given his history

He'a crazy talented. But the NFL is such a crapshoot. If he gets stuck in a shitty organization it could be rough.
It is in the sense that he probably lost the majority of the fanbase last night. Now he is going to be on the hot seat and once someone gets on that it is only a matter of time. My guess is that there are offensive staff changes this offseason and then next year he will again lose 1 or 2 games he shouldn't and then will be fired. Only wildcard is our AD is retiring so that might buy him another year.
TCU has been a pretty terrible addition to the conference.
Like, besides being good on the field in football, they haven't brought much at all.

They were in the right place at the right time to get in to a conference desperate to hit the magic number of 10 schools. If they weren't already in I don't think they would have made it in this last round either.
If we could go back and do it all over again, I'd probably want BYU, Louisville, Pitt, and WVU.
At this point I'm just praying that OSU lands on its feet in a major conference after the Big 12 inevitably implodes.

A little too aggressive from Hager there. I think that's probably it for him as far as press conferences go, but I doubt he'll be suspended as the coaches acutally like the guy.

I'm waiting on the "Tracking the Longhorns" transcript here so I can see more than just the "injure that quarterback" part, though honestly I'm doubting they'll post it with the attention this is getting. The ESPN article does quote him further as saying "I say injure that quarterback…That's the mentality right now. We've got to take him out. We know he's banged up, and we've just got to get after him."
He's come out and said he didn't mean it literally, but it's hard to read those few sentences and spin it to be non-literal, and other people at the press conference said he brought it up at least 3 times so there should be even more out there.

Transcript posted. Parts about wanting to injure Mahomes were omitted.
By KingGondo Go To PostWhat a meltdown by FSU. Shut the fuck up Jimbo.
I would have lost too. They'd have to throw me out the game for that call. There are missed calls and then there are phantom calls. FSU never fully recovered from that. OL undisciplined on the pass blocking.

Instead of 1st and 16 (and who would have bet against Cook getting 16 yards on 3 carries?) they're at 1st and 25. The field is completely flipped after the subsequent drive, Clemson kicks a field goal to take the lead after only needing 23 yards to get into FG range.
You can't control refs making bad calls. You can control how you respond to it.
Baylor posted a response to the 60 Minutes expose on them last night, including a point-by-point fact checking report.
One of the links is literally titled "The interviews CBS News didn't want you to see." Sounds like a Buzzfeed article.

In an alternate universe, the MDC is reality, Baylor is in CUSA, and Art Briles is selling used cars in Stephenville.
ESPN Big XII blogger Jake Trotter has been a bit confusing lately. He has Tech not making a bowl game, which sounds reasonable until you see that he has TCU making one despite Tech's head-to-head win and TCU's tougher remaining schedule (Both have Texas, Oklahoma State, and Baylor, but Tech has ISU while TCU plays KSU).
...but then he's also picking Tech to beat Texas this weekend and TCU to lose to BU. So we DON'T beat Iowa State but TCU gets two wins out of Texas, Oklahoma State, and KSU?
The Big XII will probably have a 5-7 team in a bowl this season anyway.

i dont even care about CFB anymore. Kirby Smart's complete assfucking of the UGA program has stolen any joy I could possibly find from CFB season. I don't even care that we are going to lose to KY this week and AU next week. I don't even care that we are likely going to lose to GT.
I just want the season to be over.
