yeah my son didn't have a crib. it was the bassinet to a small bed with a railing.
i take that back, he had a crib that my wife set up, decorated etc, but it was barely used once we got a bassinet
By blackace Go To PostI had a stroller that laid down for newborns but could sit up once their necks got right.

Is your wife going to breastfeed? If so, nipple balm and bags to save milk for pump n dumps so you can have a drink a glass of wine or whatever together again
Edit: congrats to both of you
By DiPro Go To Postmy sis does this. her kid still sleeps in their bed at 3 years old.
Insanity …
4 months let el cry it out and in a week they’re sleeping g on their own.
Yikes …
My wife’s best friend did the same and her husband was on the couch for like 5 years …. My brother in laws ten year old still sneaks into their bed

They don’t learn to sleep until their brain get to a certain stage of development. So we co-slept both kids until 4 months. Then we let them cry it out at night. They also need to be able to have large enough stomachs to eat and go all night. If the kid cry’s for more than 15 straight you go in, comfort them for like a min and leaves took about a week for both my kids
You train them to fall asleep on their own too. You get them like 95% asleep and lay em down. If they cry let em. After some time you back off to 70% etc etc. In a couple weeks you can just start laying the baby down and walking out
Nipple balm gonna be her life saver and yes it will be difficult for her to hear them cry

That's an argument you can't win. Because right when you think you got em, "oh did you go through xx hours labor? "
My wife went through like 17 hours of labor...
either present your case like Perry Mason or prepare for Ls 😂
Don’t remember if I asked and I looked over the last two pages and didn’t see anything so I could also be blind
When you guys got car seats, what you were looking for? Was watching some reviews and saw some car seat with a load bearing leg for when the car seat is rear facing that seems really useful.
Does it matter that much for safety or is it just some marketing gimmick? Idk why I’m overthinking shit, the only accident I ever got into was when I first started driving and had to make a sharp left onto the highway and slid into the barrier.

All car seats have to pass saftey standards so you’re really just buying parental clout and amenities for your kids above base level models.
The only usefull item that runs up costs are the quick click connections. Those are a lifesaver if you’re ever moving the damn thing, like to a grandparents car. I also think cup holders are use full.
Try and find convertible ones so you can transition from carrier phaze to front facing without a new purchase
The car seat probably would never move from my car so that’s not that big of a deal to me.
Thanks. We were looking at some Graco convertible. I don’t need a fancy uppa baby or some shit, just something that’s gonna help keep my daughter safe and comfortable

You may not plan on moving car seats but when you have to you’ll hate life without those quick connects. They’re not expensive adds to the cheapest models
Something like this:
Graco SnugRide SnugLock 35 LX Infant Car Seat, Baby Car Seat Featuring TrueShield Side Impact Technology https://a.co/d/3Ao5Mo8
We did spend some money on a stroller. We got
The city select that has two seats. We got attachments tbat worked with the Graco carrier. That way you take the carrier out of a car and just connect to stroller frame. Lifesaver is your child is asleep

Thanks Smokey, good luck Rob! Make sure they give her Hella pain killers for recovery.
Holy shit I forgot how tiring this is. You think you can just apply everything you learned first time round in the exact same way but you can't, might as well be a different species. She'd feeding every 45 mins/ 1 hour in the night and sleeps most of the day.
