Definitely wait for sure. Like Fender said and as miscarriages are common it's better to keep it silent for a while.
Yeah I’m gonna try to hold out as long as possible. I want to tell my brothers but until I know it’s safe I don’t want to say anything
I remember last year my cousin announced to the entire family extended she was 3 months pregnant at a get together. 2 weeks later she lost it then nobody told me and I brought it up to her and she told me she had a miscarriage. I was like wtf mom.
She did end up having a little girl two weeks ago but this time she didn't tell anyone until she was far along. I picked up on the pregnancy early as she is basically my older sister and when I asked she confirmed. But didn't end up coming out to the whole family until 1.5 months later.

Chance of a miscarriage goes down dramatically post heart beat / first trimester
One thing you quickly find out is that pregnancy is complicated af. I salute women for being able to go through it lol

I could not handle pregnancy and I have no problems admitting this
By Old King Rob Go To PostSo dads, give me some heads up
what’s some stuff you wish you knew the first time?
Nipples change color in pregnancy.
Look into mucosum poops for when kid is born
They’re not born with instructions … we all “winged it” at some point lol
Sleep training is a must. You can’t do it right away but start letting em cry it out.

There’s no instruction book. I’m serious. As long as they are fed and have a roof over their head everything else just comes naturally. Remember they don’t know if you’re “messing up”. They care about food, shitting, and sleep.
By blackace Go To PostTake care of your wife. Being a mom is harder than you think.
Definitely this
Pay attention for potential signs of postpartum depression too. That shit is real and some women don’t like to talk about it or admit they’re going through it.
Just remember, for like literally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for almost 3. especially if breastfeeding, your wife is basically going to be on call and as much as you may hate work or whatever you basic communication daily, while your will not and it will wear her down. In beginning, you are both going to have to make sacrifices

In the span of about 2 yrs there were a ton of complications in my family. My sister was about 4 months pregnant when they couldn't hear a heartbeat anymore. After that my brother in law's sister had high blood pressure and it resulted in a premature birth at like 24 weeks, he survived about a week. My ex was pregnant and the baby stopped developing, I've dealt with a lot of pain and loss in life but that hit harder than anything, easily the worst time of my life.
They've all had 2 kids each since, I got none, which is why I talk about my nephews so much.

Sorry to hear that man. That is very rough.
It’s definitely a blessing and until you’re in the situation where you’re up close and personal to a pregnancy, I think most people just assume it’s a straightforward affair. I guess it is the majority of the time, but it’s still another human being grown inside another human. That’s a lot.

Good looks, rough is an understatement though, I had been with that woman for 5 years and we were probably going to get married, it ended less than a year after that happened. I haven't been in a lasting relationship since either, pretty much apathetic towards them now. Also, what makes it worse is that the due date was right shortly after my nephews, so every time his birthday rolls around I'm reminded. I stopped counting how old they would have been, shit sucks.
It is hard to understand how bad it is for the woman after they miscarry.. it usually changes everything.
Now that you guys are talking about it I feel like I understand my brother’s situation more
He always wanted kids and a few years ago him and his gf announced they were pregnant but ended up having a miscarriage. They’re still together but either haven’t been able to, or haven’t tried, and my brother just turned 37 so I figured he would have kids by now. I’ve never brought it up with him bc I always felt like if he wanted to talk about it he would

My wife has her first obgyn appointment and they won’t even let me in despite being fully vaccinated
Then people wonder why no one wants to get this shot. You out here telling people to get vaccinated to prevent the spread of COVID but I’m still considered enough of a risk that I can’t get in anyway

Sucks especially as a first time dad, but, everything from this point will be out of the safety of the mom and baby.
It’s for the best even if it’s hard to accept at this point with the excitement.

When the fuck did they add “shoot” to the end of Rock Paper Scissors? Why is my 5 year old daughter arguing with me that this new version is actually the correct version? 😂

What are/were your favourite toys that you played with your kids? Mine is currently a Thomas the tank engine train set, my kid loves it and I find it quite relaxing getting 3 or 4 trains running round the track. Probably going to get him a Hot Wheels set next
I still see a lot of old stuff from my childhood in toy shops like hungry hippos and buckaroo and think surely toys must have improved over the years and this is just being aimed at nostalgic parents?

My kids like hungry hippos. They’re playing little big planet now though so that’s currently my fave
What are your kids dressing up as for Halloween? Daughter is a witch, she’s not as into princesses as much as I thought. My son is going as Rat Stanz. The outfit came with all 4 name patches. Little dude loves ghostbusters.

Sorry things didn’t work out last time. We went through two miscarriages. Hard as fuck.
Congrats on the new baby baking away. Girls are amazing btw. I was worried I couldn’t relate to my daughter but I couldn’t have been more wrong

Thanks guys.
I wanted a girl from the beginning. I’ll be fine with my second as a boy but my whole family is boys and men. Nice to break from that pattern

I don't wish other dudes happy birthday or generally celebrate others success, but this right here is congrats worthy. Congrats rob, how soon can we get her on the basketball court?
I’ve been telling my wife our kid was gonna be watching MJ and Hakeem highlights since the day they are born.
Might have to hit up Kibner for the WNBA star highlights now

If everything goes to plan our second boy is going to be born by c-section on Tuesday (coincidently at Kings Hospital) and I am absolutely bricking it.
Still haven't picked a name yet, or built the cot.

C sections are gnarly. Both of mine were born via c section. Saw all my wife’s guts lol

Fender got a weird fetish
I was positioned so I could see nothing. Then I went to cut the umbilical cord and when I turned around I saw it all 😬
Thanks.
Last time we had an emergency c-section and I stayed at the top end where it all seemed so calm. When they pulled the baby out and dropped the curtain we realised there were like 20 other people in the room and it looked exactly like a scene from a hospital drama. I didn't get a chance to cut the chord because of the nature of the emergency.
Hopefully this time it will be calmer but I am not really bothered about cutting the chord.
