We have a few dads in here, thought it might be cool to have a thread to talk about stuff, bc kids are like dark souls in RL.

It's actually pretty hard to get pregnant. I mean...yeah you blast millions of swimmers, but her body got legit af defenses that makes it tough af for one to pass through.
There's actually a science to this for people who are really trying to conceive.

Yeah he's back in school and I am back in L.A. His mom had another child so he's getting used to that. He asked me what it was like to be an older brother and I told him I couldn't help because I was the baby of the family.

Dunno man, girls are ripe as fuck at 18, you can look at them and some of them will get pregnant. In saying that my fiancé is a cougar, and it didn't take long (wasn't exactly planned tho) but I guess different strokes for different folks as I appreciate it can be VERY difficult for some.
Smokey how old is your little one now? He eating any food yet?
I dated my fair share of crazies, I wouldn't be surprised if I have a few children scattered around the world.

He's 5.5 months. He eats cereal and some veggies which smell horrible. Not full time though. He sure af knows what a cup is though and it's sometimes impossible for me to drink my own shit. Went out and got him his own little sippie cup smh

Bruh so I got into the habit of sneaking mine OJ apple juice and now he doesnt drink anything thats not milk if its not in a glass.
Like literally just refuses it, you'll put the same nasty watered down OJ in a glass and he'll finish the whole thing lol.
He's crawling now too, my fiance was convinced he was bored (this is the same 8 month child that thinks if you had something behind your hand its dissappeared) so went out spent a fair amount on toys. Does he have any interest? nope, he wants to plauy with fluff, wires, corner of the sofa and the most random things.
So I was wondering when he'd start crawling. He'll be 6 months next week, shouldn't he be close? He's turning a lot and can sometimes turn over on his own.

I'm so worried a Germany or French or Spanish kid is going to pull up looking for me one day.

When he can roll both ways (front to back, back to front) he'll be weeks/month away from crawling.
One thing I realized is not to worry about these things too much as I found myself getting anxious as another kid started crawling before mine by about 3 weeks.
Mine didnt start crawling until 7/8 months

I think this is where I'm at. So this is a normal feeling I guess.
I know we are basically damn near all dudes on here, but maybe slight suggestion to make it SLAENT-Parents or something in case we ever do have women with kids post, too? Not a criticism.

Fair enough.
I'm tired, guys.
The crying is painful to my heart and my ears. He mostly just wants to eat...you try to feed him, but he keeps crying? He's rejecting food. Wtf? Why? He cries for a few mins, and you try to feed him again and he goes for it! Bruh! Why didn't you accept it the first time? And why are your eyes open at 2AM? What are you looking at? It's dark as a mofo. Why are you making random noises? Why are you trying to roll over on your sides and possibly belly? That shit ain't good for you. You can't do that. Just lay on your back. Why are you asleep for hours one day, and then awake the whole day another day? Why will you only fall asleep when you're on top of mommy sometimes? That's dangerous for you and her. Why do you cry for food, only to fall asleep when you are given some?
I'm tired, guys.
I gotta work and put up with the bullshit at work, and help my wife too. But man, I feel bad for my wife as she's the one who goes through 90% of this.
I'm tired, guys. But little dude is worth it.

It gets better. I told you the newborn phase is pretty awful. How old is he now? Also keep in mind this world is all new to him. He's spent his life inside a womb. There's a lot of sensory shit out here in the world. Babies handle it in different ways.

Nah man. It's really the best thing ever. It's also different when it's your kid. But I get they're not for everyone.

He's a month now. And yeah, it actually does get better everyday. He's smiling, making faces, everything he does is funny and cute. I also wanted to really wait until having kids, but at 31 this is a great time. And I can't imagine him not being here, and us not having a child. He completes the household, he really does.
He looks around, looks all over the place...but when he looks at me, my heart melts.

It took my wife and I about 6 months of trying before she got pregnant. Then we had a miscarriage and she got pregnant again the very next try. I'm not sure, but she was one birth control since she was like 15 so her hormones dealing with transitioning off might make things more difficult. We were even tracking her ovulation. The miscarriage was tough. It was really hard on my wife, but it's pretty amazing the amount of people who've had one before. They come out of the woodwork to empathize.
That first ultrasound at about 12-13 weeks is the big sigh of relief. You hear the heartbeat and know it's on. Congrats man. Being a father has been the best thing ever for me.

Mine are great. Mother in law is a natural st being a mom. She loves kids.

I will go my grave believing that long term birth control has adverse effects on (late) fertility.
It's probably a combination of all kinds of things but there is some truth to birth control basically making the glands go "guess we're not needed anymore." And hormone production is so vital to carrying babies long term.
A lot of women discuss stopping the pill and like addictive drugs you go through withdrawl symptoms. It can take a year or two for a body to chill the fuck out and some never do.

My wife was able to go off and on the pill with no withdrawl symptoms. We were lucky. I much preferred that to the IUD thing or whatever that gets placed in your arm. For some reason it makes me squeamish. I thank her for working with me on that one.
Actually going on and off at intervals is good, breaks are good. Doing it for a really long stretch = not so good.
By Apollo Go To PostWhen I was with the ex her mom was dead and her dad had fuck all to do with her
what
My wife used and IUD with low hormone levels for a couple years before we tried. We thought it might help ween her off the pill. It was nice too because she stopped having her period. Which we both appreciated, though if you ask me around her IRL, she appreciated it more lol
Ehh. My in-laws moved recently, and are now guilt tripping us for not driving out to their new house every weekend. It's like, you can drive too people and you're going to need to if you want to see her more. It really sucks because we had asked them to move closer to us and they chose to move further away (my wife was super pissed). My mom lives close and is retired so she baby sits while we're at work. This is a sore spot and causes jealousy. My family sees the baby five days a week and they see her one day a week if that. The baby kills our time. So if we have any plans on a weekend day, the other weekend day has to be spent doing house chores like mowing the lawn, cleaning, doing laundry and going to the grocery store. They don't seem to get that either. I already have a sketchy relationship with my father in law as it is.
Other than this, they're great. My mother in law is especially sweet and my father in law is really good with kids.
