By Laboured Go To PostI like the ideas and writing behind ITYSL but I really don't especially love Robinson's delivery / acting in almost any of the sketches I've watched.
I find the way he shouts and expresses himself often is the reason I laugh, rather than the writing being great.
This is the GOAT ITYSL sketch.
Imo it's the side characters that steal the scenes
It's no Chappelle's Show or even Key and Peele but it's a solid sketch comedy show. There are at least 3 or 4 sketches that I find funny per season(which is a lot for these kinds of shows)

By C4-621 Go To PostOmg the weekend is so funny in the idol
I’ve only seen him act in Uncut Gems. I honestly love his music but dude needs to stay in his lane.
New Witcher this month? I can’t fucking wait. Really enjoyed S1, S2 was good and bad, but I’m hopeful regardless.
Think somebody like Vincent Cassel could pull of his role in The Idol. Abel just a bit too corny and unbelievable.

This is how I am feeling.
Weakest season of The Witcher so far. Feels like nothing actually happened in those five episodes that couldn’t have been completed in two max.
I like what they tried with episode five, but it was a but of a miss for me.
Oh well, a month till they drop the last few episodes with the series finale.

I liked the first one, good fight scene at the end. Geralt almost being a mute that first half hour was weird.
Second episode was slightly worse do I'm dreading what happens next.
I'm also hating the deviation they've been doing from the books already from 1&2 and reading what they're planning to do with Jaskier :/

Things were confused for me at the start about why he was a mute because I skipped the recap by mistake. Needed to search it haha.

Agreed. The pacing throughout the 5 episodes seemed really off to me. Wasn’t a fan of episode 5 either, by far the worst for it’s pacing imo.
By C4-621 Go To PostSurprised people are still watching the witcher? I thought S1 was mostly badI really liked the first season. Second season was okay, but I wasn’t a fan of some of the choices made. Third season is 💤 so far.
Tbf, I was only a fan of the first book. So season 1 being based heavily on that collection of short stories was good shit for me.
The Witcher is bad but fun.. It’s never been more than that for me. The lack of yen nudity is kind of a bummer but I’m still getting sword fights with the boated combination of multiple carcasses so why not lol
The fights are pretty good here, still some baffling decisions on why characters do something but that's all bad writing.
For the budget they have, the production values seem really bad and jarring in some scenes.
Another squandered opportunity it seems with the Witcher IP.
Hopefully someone capable picks it up when their license ends.

By Laboured Go To PostNimona was alright I guess. It's no The Sea Beast, but not bad, not bad at all.
Last three episodes of The Witcher were better than the first half of S3, though I’m still left disappointed with it.
Honestly, I’d be happier to see them can the show at this point rather than go into S4.

Netflix is planning to increase the cost of its streaming service yet again, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. The streamer will reportedly issue the price hike a “few months” after the Hollywood actors strike ends, which could happen in the coming weeks.jfc

Subscribers to Netflix’s Basic and Premium plans will be paying more, with prices rising to $11.99 and $22.99 per month in the US.
I cancelled Netflix like 18 months ago? There's enough good TV to go around on other streamers that aren't charging an arm and a leg.
I just sub to Netflix as and when there’s a show I want to watch, then cancel afterwards. Feels like everything on there is a Netflix original now and vast majority of them that I’ve watched haven’t been great.
Prime Video though, I’m pretty happy with outside of the dogshit UI. Generally a good selection of older films I’ve not seen and newer shows I’ll look into.

I’m super close …
Fall of the House of Usher was good tho
I'm very close too, because they've finally starting breaking my balls about confirming the household every time one of my co-subscribers uses it.
Shame, but I've barely been using it anyway and, well, you know. There are ways. Easy ways. Immoral ways.

only really keep it around for star trek as background noise, but can get a paramount sub for a 3rd of the cost instead. Probably cancel tomorrow.

Blue Eyed Samurai was excellent. Beautifully written and animated. Didn't much care for the modern soundtrack in spots (thankfully it's sparsely used), but that's about it.
Well done, horse.
But my god what a fucking tease of a season 1

Blue eye samurai is great, especially since I watched a lot of YouTube videos last month of Japanese swordsmiths making katanas.

Excellent.
think the latest chappelle special might just be his worst. got a few laughs out of me, but it mostly felt like a try out for a special rather than the special itself.

This
Can't say I loved it at all. Definitely funny in doses but think the trans stuff is tired
Even if you didn't have a moral or cultural objection to his trans stuff, surely he's just beating a dead horse with it at this point? If he isn't careful he'll go full Linehan, where he simultaneously got himself cancelled and seemed to focus almost entirely on his weird crusade which completely tanked his career.
Not sure Chapelle would even care that much if it happened tbf, unlike Linehan relying on getting stuff greenlit and produced, he'll always have one platform or another. Plus he still gets very strong viewership numbers afaik.
