Watching a movie right now called "Tokyo Tribe". It's a Japanese live-action musical about modern day rival gangs in Tokyo. The music genre is hip-hop. These guys can't rap. At all. But it's still entertaining enough for me to watch.
just watched Death Note
I'm somewhat biased cause I love Adam Wingard movies, I thought it was fairly enjoyable even if it strays very, very far from the manga/anime plot and characters but what's the point of making a faithfully accurate movie of a property that's already been adapted a dozen times. The soundtrack is great although it doesn't really even fit the movie but I appreciate Wingard's love of synthwave, the cinematography is good too.
The acting is horrible. Light and Misa are terrible. The ending.... think this would've worked better as a TV show. They tried to cram too much into a single movie.
L and Watari have the same gun as Deckard from Blade Runner

so death note as an adaptation fails completely in all levels and it definitely shows that they probably never read the original manga/watched the anime before writing the script
but i didnt really expect differently
but i didnt really expect differently
I didn't think it was the worst thing in the world.
A bit too emo for my liking. What have prefered it to be darker.

I never finished the anime, but from what I remember from the manga, it was silly af. So, while this is easily Adam's worst movie (The Blair witch project is better) it doesn't fall far from the tree. It's not good, but it's an entertaining mess.
By giririsss Go To PostBeen watching Kenshin on Netflix more than anything else the last few days.Would have been one of the GOAT animes if it ended when Kenshin leaves for Kyoto. That scene with him and Kaoru was amazing. If it was still on YT i'd post it.
Sah gud.
I rewatch Kenshin vs Saito whenever I'm bored.
edit: Indonesian subs but fuck it
Eveyone needs to watch American Vandal. If you don't know what it's about don't find out just press play.

The Kyoto Arc was the last one where the Anime followed the Manga. Season 3 was only done becuase it was such a hugely popular profitable show.
I don't think it should have ended when he left for Kyoto. But that parting scene with Kaoru is iconic. The fight with Saito in the dojo is pretty fucking amazing too.

Watching American Vandal and all the different cues they take from stuff like MaM, Serial and other docs are hilarious.
That 3D recreation of the dock "accident" in episode 2 of American Vandal, I lost it.
This is so good.
This is so good.
By brawly Go To PostJust binged "Big Mouth". The trailer made it look like garbage. It's damn good.Agreed, I loved it too.
By Kabro Go To Postlol, American Vandal is worth the price of admission.

Really enjoyed both of these, especially American Vandal.
Just started the Good Place. Good shit so far.
Netflix has released Shot In The Dark, a documentary series about 3 men who travel the streets of LA to shoot footage of crimes and incidents (just like Nightcrawler).
Checking it out right now.
